Gift Boxes with Pebbles Hey, Hello

Hello blogging friends!

With most people around the world right now sheltering in place to help reduce the spread of coronavirus, no birthday parties or wedding receptions or baby showers or celebrations of any kind involving groups of people are happening. I want to make sure some special people in my life still feel loved even if we cannot be together for special events. My Mother-in-law just turned 80 and I couldn't even give her a hug! I decided to make some little gift boxes to deliver to some special people with some goodies inside. I used two coordinating sheets of 12x12 of pattern papers from the beautiful Hey, Hello collection and decorated my boxes with tags that can be cut from pattern paper. Boxes are easy to make. I used a cut file from SVGcuts , but they can also be made without using a cutting machine.

The Hey, Hello collection is perfect for special occasions of all kinds, like birthdays.

There is plenty of room inside for cupcakes, donuts, or cookies.

Layer up a couple tags and a ribbon on the top to make your box so festive looking.

This next gift box could be used for a birthday as well, but I'm giving it to a girl who will be graduating from high school. Commencements have been canceled. I can put candy, gift cards, or cash inside.

I added a tag cut from pattern paper to the top along with a die cut phrase ephemera piece and some ribbon.

But don't think this collection is just for kids... This beautiful floral box went to my Mother-in-law. It would be perfect for Mother's Day too. There are lots of other beautiful floral papers that would make lovely gift boxes.

I put her favorite chocolates inside. Once again I adorned my box with ribbon, a tag, die cut ephemera, and cut paper leaves.

Do you have anyone special you can't be with right now? Why not create a special gift box for them. You don't need a special occasion to tell someone your thinking of them.

YAY! - JustNick Studios

Hello blogging friends!

I am back today sharing a layout I created for my daughter Colette's graduation party. This spring she graduated from veterinary school!!! Her Dad and I are so proud of her. It was not an easy road and she studied her brains off. She is specializing in emergency vet medicine and just started a year long internship. There is just something that thrills her to be able to react to critical cases. Never a dull moment!

I wanted my layout to scream CELEBRATION so I gravitated to that Starburst digital cut file in the JustNick Studios on-line store. I used the Simple Stories Grad collection and the pattern papers also had stars. Here is how my layout turned out...

I really love how that Starburst cut file turned out when cut from gold cardstock. I created a BIG title using the YAY! from the Card Sentiments 1 digital cut file. It was perfect to help capture the feelings from that big day.

I saved a few of those cut out stars and used them as embellishments. You can see a large star tucked under the tassel.

Here is one more detailed shot. I used some foam adhesive to adhere the YAY! title over the top of the stars. It really pops against the black background and the gold stars.

Here are the cut files I used today  ...

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great weekend!!

Graduation Day - Paper Issues

Hello blogging friends.

Paper Issues has a Project Life challenge going on in June where you are to incorporate memorabilia into your design. Memorabilia could be ticket stubs for example. I thought I would join in and create my first ever PL layout.  I used the Simple Stories Grad collection simple set and Simple Stories PL pages.

I ended up cutting my ticket in half to fit the pockets here. I used a stamp to stamp the graduates on plain white cardstock. I embellished with some cardstock stars.

That long pocket was perfect for holding my daughter's tassel!

I did some pattern paper layering here, added more stars, and used washi tape to balance out the washi tape used to hold the tassel down.

I hope you can join is in some of our June challenges. We play along on the Paper Issues Facebook page and would love to have you join in the fun. Use my coupon code when shopping the Paper Issues on-line store. There is new stock arriving all the time, so check back often.

Have a great weekend.

Senior & Awesome - Cocoa Vanilla Studio

Hello blogging friends!!!!!!

I am back today with a fun Cocoa Vanilla Studio Totally Rad layout. I have a nephew graduating in a few weeks from high school and thought Totally Rad would be perfect for scrapping some of his senior photos. It can be hard to find papers that aren't little kiddish for older boys and men. While there are some cute little boy elements to this collection, it definitely can be used for the older boys too. His school colors were Orange and Black, so that is the color scheme I kept to.

  Senior

Big titles are hip and trendy now, so I repeated 'Senior' down the middle of my layout and backed it with the orange paper from Totally Rad. Then I added some of the fabulous Totally Rad die cuts to complete my title.

  Awesome

I repeated embellishments like the wood veneers, enamel dots, vellum stars to give my layout a cohesive feel. You can also see one of those fabulous woodies here too. The metal arrow charms are from the Hello Lovely collection, but they are so perfect for this layout too! The larger star shape is from the Made of Awesome collection as is the flair I used near the bottom of my photo.

  SeniorDetail

I love that star paper clip in the Totally Rad collection! The stickers I used for the 'class of 2016' came from the Hello Lovely alpha sticker sheet.

  Amazing

I really like how this layout turned out. Be sure to pick up some Totally Rad for your older boys too.

Don't Just Follow Your Dreams, Chase Them - JustNick Studios and Clique Kits

Hello blogging friends!

School is winding down here in the states and another of my nephews is graduating! I just received his grad party invite in the mail along with a photo and had to use the new JustNick Studios  Dreamcatcher_1 digital cut file to scrap it. The dreamcatcher is perfect for him as he is part American Indian.

I placed my title on the left side of my photo as I did not want to cover up too much of my dreamcatcher. Of course my title had to contain the word dream! To keep the dreamcatcher from being too busy I limited myself to just 3 different pattern papers.

This is my 5th layout with the May Clique Kit featuring the Fancy Pants Designs Attwell collection and I still have plenty of paper left for a few more layouts I think! I thought that feather pattern paper in the collection was perfect for the dreamcatcher. I also used the feather washi tape that was an add on.

Here is the Dreamcatcher_1 cut file I used...

I hope you snatched up the free cut files last weekend from JustNick Studios for International Scrapbook Day. This Dreamcatcher 1 file was one of the freebies.

International Scrapbook Day - Clique Cards

Hello blogging friends.

I know it's International Scrapbook Day, but my Clique Kits Scrap Your Heart out Challenge is for you to create a card. Any Card. If you want to play along, you have a week to post a card in the Clique Kits Facebook Scrap Your Heart Out Event Page.

I used the Clique Spring Card Kit featuring the gorgeous My Mind's Eye On Trend 2 collection to create these. There are a few left in the Clique Store. Use coupon code Marcia10 to save 10% on your order!

This first card is for an upcoming wedding I am attending. This shaker card was created using Top Dog Dies.

My next card I created for a graduation party. A little vellum over busy pattern paper makes the die cuts from the On Trend 2 collection really pop.

My last card could be used for Mother's Day or a Birthday I think...

I don't know if my gold fever will ever go away ... I just love the gold accents...

Cards and More with the Clique Kits Spring Card Kit

Hello blogging friends!

I am back today to show you some of the things I have created with the awesome Clique Kits Spring Card kit. This kit features the oh so popular My Mind's Eye On Trend 2, an adorable Waffle Flower Crafts bow die, and a fabulous Honey Bee Stamp Set that is only available now in our Spring Card Kit! Take a look ...

I have to tell you those flamingos and pineapples are my favorites. They were the first things I used to adorn my cards...

  YouRock

My daughter's Vet School white coat ceremony is Saturday!!! I made this card for her. The glassine bag will work perfect to stick a little gift card into. Just what my girl needs ... a little $$ to make it through the next 52 weeks of her externships. Yup, I am one proud mama! Check out this adorable bow! I love that Waffle Flower Crafts die!

  BowDie

My next cards make use of more of the dies in the ephemera die cuts pack. These dies make it so easy to put a card together fast! Can't decide what paper to use ... use 2 and cut them on a diagonal for a different look....

  PineappleCard

Not wanting to waste paper, the other diagonal pieces went on another card :)

Happiness

Bow_WaffleFlower

Yes, there was a fabulous Honey Bee Stamp set as well. I used it on this coffee cup I created from an SVGcuts Good Day at the Office digital cut file. It looks like the real deal, doesn't it. I am going to fill it with chocolates for my office assistant who is retiring. It would make a great teacher gift too. I stamped the sentiment here with VersaMark ink and embossed with gold embossing powder.

  CoffeeCup

The butterfly was stamped on vellum and then embossed with a white embossing powder before I fussy cut it out.

If you like what you are seeing, then you better hurry and snatch up your Spring Card kit in the Clique store before they are gone! Use coupon code Marcia10 and save 10%.

Pursue Whatever Sets Your Soul On Fire - Clique Kits

Hello blogging friends!

I am back today, sharing my first layout that I created with the December Clique Kit Girl Cave featuring the fun Pink Paislee Memorandum collection. I don't think I have shared the kit here on the blog yet, so let me show you...

  4608541_orig

One of my favorite parts of any Clique Kit are the exclusive digital cut files. I thought I could use the "Pursue Whatever Sets Your Soul On Fire" title on a graduation layout. I decided to enlarge the title to make a dramatic statement. My daughter graduated from college with a degree in English with the hopes of someday becoming a writer or an editor. The label paper at the top of my layout worked well to record this. Her passion has always been writing since she was a little girl. Now she is soon to graduate with her Masters degree ... yeah!!!!

SoulOnFire

There are lots of fabulous embellishments this month, like these wood veneers from My Mind's Eye, the Pretty Little Studio acetate tags, and these self adhesive sequins from Jillibean Soup. Oh, and I love the Pink Paislee Memorandum washi tape sheet.

I challenge you to use a big title on one of your next layouts too. Be sure to shop the Clique Store's Black Friday sale for some awesome deals!
