The November PageMaps sketches are up and they are awesome! Here is the sketch I worked with this month.
I used the gorgeous Pink Paislee Truly Grateful collection and decided to scrap some senior photos of my oldest daughter Naomi. Here is how it turned out.
One of my favorite ephemera pieces is this heart cross stitch circle. I stitched it with some pink embroidery floss before adhering it to my layout. I used one of the Truly Grateful phrase thickers for my title, layering it over the heart.
Here is my journal spot, embellished with more of the thickers puffy stickers.
I created a floral cluster underneath my photo on the right. In addition to the floral ephemera pieces I added a few JustNick Studio digital cut file stems and a few tassels.
I added some machine stitching for texture and just a few splatters of ink.
I am back today with a Simple Stories Spring Farmhouse layout for you. This is such a gorgeous collection! I love all the flowers with the spring color palette. The black in the collection really sets off all the soft pastel colors. For me, it is so much needed after a hard winter that just doesn't want to go away any time soon. I knew immediately what photo I wanted to scrap. My niece had a senior photo taken outside where she is lounging in a chair. She lives in the country, so the field behind her and the chair give the photo a homey quality, just perfect for the farmhouse feel of this collection.
I started out with the Love This Life pattern paper for my layout base, then placed a strip of the black floral Love A Lot pattern paper down the middle of my page. To add a little warmth, I added a yellow punched border on both sides. To help my photo stand out against the pattern papers, I put a pretty doily behind the photo. I love how the doily mimics the lace in my niece's shirt.
Spring calls for flowers, so I added some along both sides of my photo. The Live Simply sticker was perfect for a title. I put some foam behind it to give it some dimension. In the bits and pieces ephemera pack was this pretty pink gingham frame which worked perfectly around this fabulous bicycle with quote sticker. I also tucked in some die cut leaves and this cute little bird from the chipboard sticker sheet. A twine bow adds to the farmhouse feel. Isn't this a gorgeous cluster of embellishments!
Did you also see the beautiful bow clips in this collection? I used the pink gingham bow to match the frame I used in my large embellishment cluster and placed it at the top of my photo.
More flowers and a chipboard frame make up a smaller embellishment cluster to the right of my photo.
Don't fall over or anything ... I even have a process video for this layout!! Stop by and subscribe to my channel.
You don't need to live in the country to appreciate this gorgeous collection. It is versatile enough to be used for your everyday photos at home too. I think I have a new favorite collection! Thanks so much for stopping by!
Today I have a layout to share that I created with the Jillibean SoupYou Make Miso Happy collection. I was inspired by the black paper with all the white words and wanted to create some word play. On the left is
the pattern paper
Bonito Flakes with it's white text on
a black background and on the right black text on a white background. The
Jillibean Soup digital cut file Kid
You're Gonna Be Great is perfect for documenting your awesome kids too just
like I did here for my awesome nephew! He is a full-time PSEO
college student and training for the Army National Guard on weekends... at 17! So
much awesomeness called for a large photo.
I continued to added text and
embellishments over the photo. Since this is a senior photo, I also added the Senior Year digital cut file as well.
This was cut from an orange polka dot paper in the 6x8 All About Dots paper pad.
I love that I was able to scrap a masculine layout from a collection that has lots of pastels and beautiful flowers.
Marcia here today with a festive December layout I created with the Simple Stories Vintage Christmas collection. I wanted to use this collection, not for Christmas photos, but for one of my daughter's Senior photos. Being from Minnesota where we get lots of snow, it was fun to do a photo shoot of her with a toboggan and a winter hat and scarf. I wanted to show you that even though there are lots of adorable vintage Santas in this collection, it also works to document some everyday December moments. Here is my layout ...
Is there anyone besides me that is crushing on these plaid papers? That red buffalo plaid is the perfect background and really set off the chipboard frames which I adore! I chose two of the smaller single frames and printed my photo to fit inside. In the other frame I used one of the 3x4 journaling cards. These frames are beautiful just the way they are or you can layer up other embellishments on top like I did. A woodgrain banner, stickers, washi tape, and snowflakes tucked underneath add even more layers.
To set off my title Snow Cute, I added a strip of the reindeer pattern paper across the bottom of the page. The die cut letters backed with the black buffalo plaid pattern paper really pop on the lighter background. I substituted a snowflake for the O in the title and layered another reindeer over the top. He is so cute!
I know December is so hectic with Holiday gatherings but try to take a little time to slow down and capture the everyday winter activites too. Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have an awesome weekend.
I have a new Jillibean Soup layout to share with you today. Jillibean Soup teamed up with Therm O Web and I was thrilled to combine their products with the beautiful Bohemian Brew collection. I had fun experimenting with the Deco Foil and my new Minc thermal laminator. If you don't have a thermal laminator, you can still use Deco Foil with this awesome mixed media adhesive tape. You can see both methods on this layout where I am scrapping a senior photo of Colette. I couldn't resist. The colors and patterns in Bohemian Brew made me think of this dress my daughter wore for some outdoor senior photos.
At this angle you can see how beautiful that foil looks! I used the blue Deco Foil on the mixed media tape and then punched the foil with a border punch. The hot pink Deco Foil I used on a Jillibean Soup digital cut file. Isn't that mandala awesome! I had some cardstock sheets I printed so they were full of toner so I could run them through my Silhouette Cameo and cut out anything I wanted before running it through my new Heidi Swapp Minc. Here is a closer look.
I used a combinations of stickers and soup labels to create my title, 'Be You'. The puffy sticker flowers were great to add some dimension.
I clustered a bunch of pea pod parts in the lower left corner of my photo. There are actually 3 mandala cut files stacked on top of eachother. I even had a 4th one cut out but thought it might be too much.
If only that foil would photograph beautifully from every angle! It was a challenge. Here is the full layout.
If you are interested in my process or seeing me make mistake after mistake playing with my new Minc, here is my YouTube process video.
I am giving away some Therm O Web product over on my YouTube channel. Just follow my channel and leave a comment there. Winner will be posted on May 12th.
So happy to be back today with some Fall inspiration from JustNick Studios. I love everything about Fall; the cooler weather, the gorgeous leaves turning red, orange, and yellow, warm comfy sweaters, and pumpkin spice coffee. There are some awesome new cut files in the store to help you document your Fall memories. I used the Leaf Cluster 2 on this layout.
I backed the negative space behind the flower and the leaves with assorted pattern papers, making sure to get a good mix of red, orange and yellow. 6x6 paper pads are great for backing cut files with their smaller patterns. I love how pretty it turned out. It looks fabulous on my mixed media background. Here are a few detailed shots ...
Here is the cut file I used today ...
I even made a YouTube Process Video for my layout. I would love to have you stop by and watch. If you like what you see, I would love for you to subscribe to my channel.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great week!
I am back with more Simple StoriesHello Falllayout inspiration. Fall is hands down my favorite season, when all the trees are in full color and my favorite pumpkin spice coffee returns. I don't think I am alone there though ... my niece looks like she definitely enjoys those colorful Autumn leaves too. This layout is titled 'I Love Fall'
I used a chevron background digital cut file from Creative Scrappers. I like it for my Fall pictures because those chevrons help mimic the movement of falling leaves. A little machine stitching over them creates some texture too. I added some fun fall phrase stickers from the combo sticker sheet.
I love the look of pure joy on my niece's face as she is tossing leaves into the air. A JustNick circle frame, cut from woodgrain paper found in the Sn@p Basics pack, and leaf die cuts frame my photo.
A combination of stickers and bits and pieces die cuts make up my title.
My second layout; 'This Makes Him Happy', documents something my nephew likes to do in the Fall, deer hunting using his bow.
Arrows from a JustNick Studios digital cut file are lined up on my background paper, another woodgrain paper from the Sn@p Basics pack. I love these woodgrain papers with the Hello Fall collection!
A 3x4 journal card helps express his love of Fall too. I used more masculine embellishments here in my clusters, like the chipboard woodpile and bits and pieces corn stalk.
Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a great weekend!

I am back today with an Autumn layout using some of the newest JustNick digital cut files. There are so many fabulous files to choose from for your Fall photos. I absolutely adore all the new circle frames. Today I am using the Autumn Ring , Leaves, and Leaf It To Me. They were perfect to showcase this senior photo of my niece. I used the gorgeous new Simple Stories Hello Fall collection.
I went a little crazy with the mixed media on this one, lol. I wanted to extend the colors from the photo onto the layout, mixing in some paper leaves around that beautiful frame. I picked up these awesome flair buttons from the A Flair For Buttons Etsy shop last year and didn't get a chance to use them all. Here are some close-ups...
Here are those cut files I used ...
