Layout Share - September My Creative Scrapbook

 Hello everyone!

Can you believe it's September already? Where did my summer go? I loved the September Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook because it included the Pretty Little Studio Hey Summer collection so I can still scrap some pages from summer before switching to fall. Let me show you what I created ...

1. Water Fun - I created a process video for this fun layout of my niece Cora playing in the splash pad at a local pool. I created a mixed media background using the Vicki Boutin stencil that was included in the kit. I am also using one of the kits digital cut files. This Water Fun cut file is from The Cut Shoppe. My layout is based on a PageMaps sketch from September of this year.

2. Beach

My husband and I had a wonderful vacation in Key West this year celebrating our 40th anniversary. We did a fishing expedition that stopped on this tiny island where I did some shelling. Imagine my surprise when I turned over a shell and saw the word "Love" inside! I had to document that story on this layout.

3. Salty Air

This is another layout from our Key West trip. Here we ventured to For Zachary State Park Beach. This layout is based on the monthly My Creative Scrapbook sketch.

4. Poolside

My last layout is another from the Key West vacation. There is nothing more relaxing than laying poolside soaking up some sun and enjoying my favorite pina colada drink.

My Creative Scrapbook puts together 4 kits every month. There is something for every kind of scrapbooker! Go check them all out.

Let's Go Explore! - Clique Kits

Hello blogging friends!

I am so excited to be a passport guest designer for Clique Kits. If you've been a follower of mine for a while you might remember that I designed for Clique Kits for 2 years when they first started out. They are known for featuring artists in their kits from all over the world. They have a knack for finding unique embellishments to pull a kit together beautifully. I received the February Base kit called Wonderful World. It's full of Vicki Boutin, Heidi Swapp, and gorgeous papers from a German artist Alexandra Renke. You can see a kit unboxing here...

I couldn't wait to dig in! I pulled out some vacation photos and decided on one of my daughter on a hiking trip to Zion National Park in Utah. The Clique store also has digital cut files you can download. This cut file was FREE and is perfect with this kit!

These wood veneer butterflies from the kit are so pretty! The background paper is one from Heidi Swapp ArtWalk.

I used the Pretty Little Studios alphas for my subtitle the Narrows placing it on top of a journal spot cut out from the Heidi Swapp Storyline collection. The Vicki Boutin Let's Wander ephemera die cuts are perfect for travel pages. I found an Explore sticker on the Heidi Swapp sticker sheet to layer here too. I wanted more contrast and color for the Zion portion of my subtitle. These alphas have been in my stash a long time. I also added an expoxy flair from Scrappin Happy Studio. These flair are pure epoxy so they won't rust like tin pins.

Here is a closer look at my cut file title. I created a shadow effect by layering kraft cardstock on top of a darker green cardstock, offsetting it slightly. Some ink on the edges gives it more dimension as well. I layered more Vicki Boutin ephemera pieces here and another Heidi Swapp phrase sticker; Good For The Soul.

May You Follow - JustNick Studios and Pretty Little Studios

Hello blogging friends!

For the next 2 weeks the JustNick Studio designers are teaming up with Pretty Little Studios to bring you such fabulous inspiration.

Today I am sharing what I created with the beautiful Pretty Little Studio Woodland collection. Using the Rustic Leaf Frame digital cut file, I created a window card. My sentiment is stamped inside the card, but you can see it through the dandelion transparency sheet. This frame was so perfect to use with these pretty outdoorsy papers.

Aren't these butterflies awesome! Here is a detail look at the Rustic Leaf Frame.

Here are the cut files I used today ...

Oh ...and that September Kit was AMAZING!!! Here it is again....

I fell in love with the Kaisercraft Boho Dreams collection. And what photographer wouldn't pick out the Feathers paper as a favorite with that adorable girl holding a camera? Not this girl. I really needed 2 pieces of that paper so I could use the feathers side too.

So here is my last layout for Clique Kits ... yes, after 2 years, my term has come to an end. I am looking forward to doing more traveling and getting some house remodeling done in my spare time. Oh, I will still be designing scrapbook layouts and creating other papercrafts, so follow me if you want to keep up with what I am doing. I am really going to miss my fellow Clique designers and of course Gia, Erica, and Lacey. They are all super amazing, inspiring women.

This is my daughter ... I was originally going to use a selfie of myself, but she is so much cuter, lol.

See she is cuter ... This is me.

I wanted to play up the camera theme so I used a polaroid frame from JustNick Studios. You can also see a filmstrip layered underneath the pattern paper. The camera flair is from A Flair For Buttons. I love the Pretty Little Studios butterflies and tabs that were included in the kit.

Summer Fun - JustNick Studios

Hello blogging friends!

I hope you all had a fabulous Labor Day weekend! I am sharing a JustNick Studios layout today. Nicole challenged us this week to use at least 3 cut files on our layouts this week. An easy task ... because all the cut files are so amazing. I had some camping photos from this summer to scrap so here is what I came up with. I used 4 cut files. Two of which are new; the Rustic Leaf Frame and the Vine Background. These were perfect for camping photos.

I used papers and embellishments from Pretty Little Studio. They don't have 12x12 papers ... 8x8 is the largest size! I love my pattern papers when creating a layout, so I was wondering what to do when I saw this Creative Scrapper's sketch from August. The smaller paper sizes would work here and I could use the new Rustic Leaf Frame for the circle element.

Here is a closer look at that Rustic Leaf Frame. This is one of my favorite new cut files released. I sized the frame so a 5x5 photo would fit perfectly ...

I trimmed the Vine Background down so that I only used a small part of it along the side of my layout and stitched over the top to add some texture.

I combined the Summer Words and the WORD 2 digital cut file to create my title...

Here are the cut files I used today ...

Thanks for stopping by today. Check out all the awesome new cut files in the store.

Pursue Whatever Sets Your Soul On Fire - Clique Kits

Hello blogging friends!

I am back today, sharing my first layout that I created with the December Clique Kit Girl Cave featuring the fun Pink Paislee Memorandum collection. I don't think I have shared the kit here on the blog yet, so let me show you...

  4608541_orig

One of my favorite parts of any Clique Kit are the exclusive digital cut files. I thought I could use the "Pursue Whatever Sets Your Soul On Fire" title on a graduation layout. I decided to enlarge the title to make a dramatic statement. My daughter graduated from college with a degree in English with the hopes of someday becoming a writer or an editor. The label paper at the top of my layout worked well to record this. Her passion has always been writing since she was a little girl. Now she is soon to graduate with her Masters degree ... yeah!!!!

SoulOnFire

There are lots of fabulous embellishments this month, like these wood veneers from My Mind's Eye, the Pretty Little Studio acetate tags, and these self adhesive sequins from Jillibean Soup. Oh, and I love the Pink Paislee Memorandum washi tape sheet.

I challenge you to use a big title on one of your next layouts too. Be sure to shop the Clique Store's Black Friday sale for some awesome deals!

You Look Fabulous - Clique Kits September kit

Hello blogging friends!

I am back today with more inspiration from the September Clique Kit Capture. Aren't you loving this gorgeous kit? What's not to love with the Cocoa Vanilla Studios Hello Lovely, Seven Paper, and Dear Lizzy papers. I am still working on scrapping my daughter's wedding photos.... and that first anniversary is creeping up on me, yikes! I wanted a more masculine feel to this layout of my son-in-law and his mother preparing for his wedding, so I pulled the brown papers and the black corrugated cardboard from the kit. To soften things up a bit, I added a little vellum over the background. This helps to frame my main photo as well.

  YouLookFabulous

Banners under the cardboard add just enough color. I even cut up a journal card for my banner. See there are lots of ways to use those journal cards. You can also see the Hello Lovely ephemera, stickers, and the Pretty Little Studio sticker words (the 'love') here...

  Detail3

The custom flair included in the kit is always one of my favorite parts of the kit. I added my own twine bow for a little elegance.

  Detail1

I placed more ephemera and some sequins on top of the vellum to finish off my page.

You & Me Wedding Mini

Hello blogging friends. Today I have a mini album I created with the Top Dog Heart Mini Album and Finishing Set dies, some papers from the Clique Store, and some Love My Tapes washi tape. My daughter was recently married and I've been wanting to create a mini with some of my favorite photos.

Here is how I created my mini. Using the Heart Album die, I cut out 4 from box board and 8 from cardstock, I painted the edge of the box board with white paint. When dry, I adhered the cardstock to the boxboard.

I selected some pattern papers, these are from the Pretty Little Studios You & Me collection that are available in the Clique Kits store.

I die cut the hearts for my album.

I used my Xyron Creative Station to adhere all of these diecuts  to the mini albums pages.

To bind the pages together I created a spine with cardstock scored at every 1/4". I glued one side of each album page to the spine.

I then covered the spine with my Love My Tapes washi tape on the outside and the inside pages.

Then I could add my photos and embellishments. Let me show you the rest of my pages ...

On these inside pages I used the same washi tape as the binding but here I cut the tape in half lengthwise. This created a better proportion for my mini.

Supplies:
American Crafts cardstock
Pretty Little Studios pattern paper, journal cards, tabs, arrow stickers (You & Me collection)
Love My Tapes washi tape
Xyron 9" Creative Station
White acrylic paint
hemp twine

I hope this inspires you to create your own mini. Shop the Clique Store for your pattern papers and embellishments and use code Marcia10 to save 10%. Love My Tapes washi tape is now available in the Love My Tapes Etsy store.
