I am so excited to share a second layout as a guest designer for Clique Kits. They are known for featuring artists in their kits from all over the world. In the February Base kit called Wonderful World, a German artist Alexandra Renke is featured. It's also full of Vicki Boutin, Heidi Swapp, and some other unique pieces. For my second layout I wanted to do something completely different from my first layout Let's Go Explore and I wanted to use some of Alendra Renkin's beautiful papers. You guys, these papers are so pretty, I could not bring myself to cut them. I decided to use one of the papers as a background for this layout.
I created a sketch as well. Clique Kits is giving away store credit if you create a project based on my sketch. You can share your project in the Clique Facebook group.
I used a cut file in the Clique store and cut it from an ombre pink pattern paper from the Heidi Swapp Storyline collection. I placed it on the far right side of my layout, extending it over the edge. Then I added some fussy cut flowers a die cut ephemera butterfly and a title. The title was not from the kit, but from my stash. It's from PinkFresh Studios Joyful Day collection.
On the left side of my layout I placed this adorable photo of my neice and her boyfriend. I tucked in more fussy cut flowers along with die cut ephemera pieces and a gorgeous wood veneer butterfly that you can find in the kit.
Take a look at this cluster up close... Gorgeous!

I am so excited to be a passport guest designer for Clique Kits. If you've been a follower of mine for a while you might remember that I designed for Clique Kits for 2 years when they first started out. They are known for featuring artists in their kits from all over the world. They have a knack for finding unique embellishments to pull a kit together beautifully. I received the February Base kit called Wonderful World. It's full of Vicki Boutin, Heidi Swapp, and gorgeous papers from a German artist Alexandra Renke. You can see a kit unboxing here...
I couldn't wait to dig in! I pulled out some vacation photos and decided on one of my daughter on a hiking trip to Zion National Park in Utah. The Clique store also has digital cut files you can download. This cut file was FREE and is perfect with this kit!
These wood veneer butterflies from the kit are so pretty! The background paper is one from Heidi Swapp ArtWalk.
I used the Pretty Little Studios alphas for my subtitle the Narrows placing iton top of a journal spot cut out from the Heidi Swapp Storyline collection. The Vicki Boutin Let's Wander ephemera die cuts are perfect for travel pages. I found an Explore sticker on the Heidi Swapp sticker sheet to layer here too. I wanted more contrast and color for the Zion portion of my subtitle. These alphas have been in my stash a long time. I also added an expoxy flair from Scrappin Happy Studio. These flair are pure epoxy so they won't rust like tin pins.
Here is a closer look at my cut file title. I created a shadow effect by layering kraft cardstock on top of a darker green cardstock, offsetting it slightly. Some ink on the edges gives it more dimension as well. I layered more Vicki Boutin ephemera pieces here and another Heidi Swapp phrase sticker; Good For The Soul.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Check out the Clique store for more than just kits. They also carry other fabulous scrapping supplies!
Today some scrappy friends and I are participating in a blog hop to share our favorite projects from the past year. Here is the list of participants in case you want to start at the beginning. Many are also doing giveaways including me! In addition to this blog hop, there is an instagram hop, and a YouTube hop. So pick your social media app of choice and be inspired.
I had a blast designing for Clique Kits, Cocoa Vanilla Studios, Simple Stories, and JustNick Studios this past year. My love for these scrapbook manufactures, kit club, and digital cut file shop are reflected in my favorite layouts this year. New this year, you will see some hand stitching on some layouts and I think every one of these favorites used a cut file! My Silhouette sure got a work out this year!
It was so hard to narrow my favorites down to 10 .... but here goes...
1. Inspired by Bernie Sanders commercials, I created this first layout with scraps from my May Clique Kit featuring Basic Grey's Urban Luxe and Fancy Pants Designs Atwell collections. That gorgeous Bits and Pieces Heart Background digital cut file is from JustNick Studios.
2. I created this gorgeous layout as a housewarming gift for a friend using the Cocoa Vanilla Studios Love Always collection. The digital cut files on this layout are also from Cocoa Vanilla Studios. I did some hand stitching around the heart on this one.
3. This next layout was created using the October sketch from Creative Scrappers when Cocoa Vanilla Studios was their sponsor. This is the Hello Sunshine collection which coordinated perfectly with my beach photo from our Kauai vacation last winter. I used the Summer Words digital cut file from JustNick Studios for my title.
4. My little grand nephew is the sweetest, cutest kid ever! I love these photos of him playing with a bubble gun this past summer. A mixture of various Cocoa Vanilla Studios collections were used on this one; Life is Beautiful, Totally Rad, and Made of Awesome as well as the fabulous Retro 50's digital cut file from JustNick Studios. I wanted a lot of circle elements on this layout to go with the bubbles theme. It just screams FUN!
5. The Reset Girl collection from Simple Stories was one of my favorite collections this year. It was created for the planner obsessed, but I found it worked well for documenting my oldest daughter's struggles this year with it's reset your life theme. Two years ago, I scrapped a layout with a selfie she took on the way to her wedding; "Last Selfie Before I Take Myself Off the Market!". I thought it was appropriate to do another layout with a "Back On the Market" selfie she posted as she is going through a divorce. To say the past year has been horrible for her would be an understatement. It is heart wrenching as a Mom to watch your little girl hurting. But slowly she is starting to bloom again :). 2017 is going to be an awesome year for her! I used the Leaf Circle Doily from JustNick Studios to help frame my photo.
6. Next up is a Simple Stories layout created with the Hero Simple Set and the Bits and Pieces Star Background digital cut file from JustNick Studios. It's rare for me to have a good photo of my husband to scrap. He hates having his picture taken. Here he was attending a police officer's funeral as part of the MSP Airport PD honor guard.
7. My nephew is featured again in this next layout. This one was created with the awesome Cocoa Vanilla Studios Totally Rad collection and the August 2015 free cut file from Scrapbook and Cards Today designed by Nicole Nowosad.
8. I got messy with my Faber Castell gelatos for this next layout I created with the Simple Stories Hello Fall collection. I used a variety of JustNick Studios cut files here; Autumn Ring, Leaves, and Leaf It To Me. I wanted the gorgeous Fall colors in this photo of my niece to extend onto my background. There is a process video to go along with this layouthere.
9. Fall is my favorite season, so it's not surprising that I have another Simple Stories Hello Fall layout in my top 10. The cute little fox is adorable, but it's that Leaf Cluster digital cut file from JustNick Studios that steals the show. I also used the Fall Y'All cut file for my title.
10. I am ending with my most recent layout created using the Simple Stories Winter Wonderland collection and the Nordic Background cut file from JustNick Studios. This paper collection and digital cut file go together like Winter and a Sweater! You can catch the process video for this one here.
Since Cocoa Vanilla Studios is hard to come by here in the States, I thought I would send my lucky winner the Love Always collection. To be eligible, follow me and leave a comment letting me know which of my layouts was your favorite. I will ship international. Winner will be announced on January 7th. Good luck!
My scrappy goal for 2017 is to do more YouTube process videos. I would love to have you subscribe to my channel so you don't miss out. Here is a link to my YouTube version of my Top 10 of 2016.
Thanks so much for stopping by today! I hope 2017 brings you everything you hope for.
Hello blogging friends! I hope you have been enjoying the 12 days of Giveaways at JustNick Studios.
For day 9, Nicole sent me this awesome Holly Background 2 cut file to use. I thought it would be fabulous used as a frame for my layout. I am using my Clique Kits, Clique into the Holidays Kit featuring Crate Paper's Snow and Cocoa collection. I love the outdoorsy animals and thought it would be fun to dig out an old photo to scrap anew. I am so thankful for my Mother-in-Law who took pictures of our family. Without her I doubt that there would be any photos of me! I am always the one taking pictures!!
I also used Tree Trio 2 and Snowflakes. I cut the snowflakes out from heavy cardstock and used the negative space as a stencil! Here is a closer look.
Here are all the cut files I used today ...

Oh ...and that September Kit was AMAZING!!! Here it is again....
I fell in love with the Kaisercraft Boho Dreams collection. And what photographer wouldn't pick out the Feathers paper as a favorite with that adorable girl holding a camera? Not this girl. I really needed 2 pieces of that paper so I could use the feathers side too.
So here is my last layout for Clique Kits ... yes, after 2 years, my term has come to an end. I am looking forward to doing more traveling and getting some house remodeling done in my spare time. Oh, I will still be designing scrapbook layouts and creating other papercrafts, so follow me if you want to keep up with what I am doing. I am really going to miss my fellow Clique designers and of course Gia, Erica, and Lacey. They are all super amazing, inspiring women.
This is my daughter ... I was originally going to use a selfie of myself, but she is so much cuter, lol.
See she is cuter ... This is me.
I wanted to play up the camera theme so I used a polaroid frame from JustNick Studios. You can also see a filmstrip layered underneath the pattern paper. The camera flair is from A Flair For Buttons. I love the Pretty Little Studios butterflies and tabs that were included in the kit.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Your next stop is the amazing Melissa Vining http://yesterday2day4ever.blogspot.co.nz//
Awesome right!! With the fruity flair buttons and summery papers I decided to scrap another photo from our Hawaii trip last winter. I used the free flower cut files that are a Clique Kit exclusive and the Cocoa Vanilla Studios Colour Me Happy papers.
Those cut files are so perfect for a Luau aren't they? The flamingo is from a TopDog die cut. I just couldn't resist adding him for a tropical embellishment. Here are some close-ups ...
I am participating in an awesome blog hop featuring the August Clique Kit and a stamp set from the Precious Remembrance Shop. Here is the line-up. You should have arrived here from Deidre's blog. If you just happened upon the hop, you might want to start at the Clique Kits blog. There are fabulous prizes to win along the way ... just leave a comment on each blog.
This is the Totally stamp set I received from Precious Remembrance....
and this is the August Clique Kit (available to purchase is the Clique Store now!) ... You can see some Coco Vanilla Studios Colour Me Happy, some Fancy Pants Designs Millie and June, and of course some Clique Kit exclusives. There are lots of pretty gold embellishments which of course I love!
This kit has some fabulous die cuts perfect for cardmaking, so I decided to make a couple of cards. I feel like I haven't made cards in ages and my card stash needs to be replenished. This first one For Mom... cuz really, I think I have the best Mom.
My second card makes use of the Totally word stamp. I stamped the word down the center of my card using a Hero Arts Blue Ombre stamp pad that I got from the Clique Kits store. Then I embellished with a die cut and puffy sticker. I love how it looks stamped with the ombre ink!
Thanks for stopping by today. Your next blog to hop to is Sue Lelli , Don't forget to leave a comment to be eligible to win a prize,
I am back today with some more layout inspiration with the awesome July Clique Kit Raskog! This is my 4th layout with the kit and I am amazed how much paper I have left! On this layout I decided to add some texture to my background with some modeling paste and a stencil I created from one of the digital cut files this month. I used the plus signs from this cut file.
I erased all but the plus signs and duplicated and welded the cut file. Here is what it looked like when I was ready to cut it out ...
Since I was going to use this as a stencil, it didn't matter what paper I used, so I used a piece of white cardstock that had gotten dirty. If you want to keep the stencil and reuse it, try cutting out of acetate... like the yellow sheet that came with this month's Clique Kit.
I arranged the stencil over my background paper, using my photo as a guide. I didn't need to get modeling paste behind my photo, but I wanted to make sure I was creating texture all around it.
This is what it looked like after applying the modeling paste.
I watercolored the background using a couple different colors to help draw the eye to my photo. Here is the finished result...
I let those acetate words be my title and embellished with the rubber charms, the acrylic add on frame stickers, some cardstock stickers, and wood veneer hearts from the Pinkfresh Felicity collection. The flair is from my stash ... I used all my flair in the kit already except for one and it did not fit this vacation layout. Since the background paper word strips did not fit my photo .... I did some journaling on my computer and cut out strips to place over the top. Here are some close-ups...
