September Layout Share - My Creative Scrapbook

 Hey everyone. I am so excited to share my layouts created with the September Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook. This amazing kit featured the new Shimelle Reasons To Smile collection from American Crafts. It also contained some Vicki Boutin Bold & Bright papers and die cut ephemera. Every month the kit also includes a sketch and digital cut files from the Cut Shoppe. Here's what I created ...

1. Everyday Moments - This digital cut file from The Cut Shoppe was included in the September kit subscription. I cut it large from the blue ledger paper and backed the letters with pattern paper from The Reasons To Smile collection. This was a fun layout to create with its vellum bubbles extending out from this sweet photo of my grandson with his bubble blower. Watch the process video to see how it came together.

2. Having Fun - This layout was loosely based on the sketch this month by Laura Whitaker. My daughter and boyfriend are posing in front of Sweet Martha's Cookies at the Minnesota State Fair.

3. Enjoy - This bright layout documents a fun outing with our grandson. Ice Cream Will Make Today Better ... or not when your going through the terrible twos.

4. Reasons To Smile - The heart balloon pattern paper inspired me to create a balloon bouquet on this birthday layout.

My Creative Scrapbook puts together 4 kits every month. I used the Main kit for these layouts. Each kit is put together beautifully. There is really something for every kind of scrapbooker! Go check them all out.

Celebrate - Miss Kate Cuttables

 Hello everyone!

I have long been a fan of Miss Kate Cuttables cut files, but did you know she now has a monthly subscription box? Here is a process video of a birthday layout for my grandson's first birthday party.  I cut out tons of stars using nested star metal dies.

I also wanted to make some shaped birthday cards using some Miss Kate Cuttable cut files. The solid coordinating colored paper really came in handy for these.

I have a niece that is turning 2 this month who is obsessed with unicorns. I thought she would get a kick out of the Unicorn Explosion Box (SVG, Silhouette) I can't wait to see her face when she opens this! I used pattern papers from the Lori Whitlock's All About a Girl collection. I think all unicorns need glitter, so I used a glitter cardstock for the outside of my box and decorated it with die cuts that matched the lid.

Opened, it looks like this ...  I think I can get some candy to place inside the box too.

She will love playing with this even after her birthday.

Let The Party Begin - May PageMaps

 Hey everyone! 

Have you seen the new sketches over at PageMaps for May? They are fabulous for jump starting a layout. Here is the sketch I chose.

May is PageMaps anniversary month and Becky asked us to do layouts about celebrations. I decided to scrap about my daughter's 30th surprise birthday. Here is my take using the Pink Paislee And Many More collection ...

I split one of the 4x3 photos into (2) 2z3 photos. Computer journaling on a tag saved you from seeing my awful handwriting and allowed me to tell the story of her surprise party. My daughter's boyfriend flew her best friends in from all over the country. She moved to Denver during the pandemic and many of them had not traveled to visit. I loved that he brought them all together for her birthday celebration. I used a mixed media background from Vicki Boutin that brought in the colors from this collection perfectly. I needed a masculine birthday card so I decided to make the Happy Birthday Balloons Double Slider Card (SVG, Silhouette). I used the Lori Whitlock A Magical Place pattern papers from Echo Park.

When you pull the tab, balloons rise above the Happy Birthday Sentiment.

So fun! This cut file includes the Happy Birthday To You sentiment. You can print and cut it out or use a stamped sentiment or die cut ephemera piece instead. I used a white gel pen to add highlights to my balloons and added a few star stickers.

Birthday Pop-Up Card With Dog - Lori Whitlock

 Hello everyone! 

I thought I would get a jump start on some of the birthday cards I will need in the coming months. My daughter is turning 30 at the end of the month! I can't believe it!! Since she is a veterinarian and partial to dogs, so I thought I would make her this Rectangle Pop-Up Dog Birthday Card (SVG, Silhouette).

The card is shown in Lori's store in bright boy colors, but I wanted my card to be girly. My daughter's favorite color is pink, so I select a pretty pink pattern paper from the new Lori Whitlock Birthday Girl collection from Echo Park Paper to use for the card panels around the base. I also used die cut ephemera from the same collection for the sentiment on the card front. You can use the print and cut feature to use the Happy Birthday sentiment that comes with the cut file instead if you desire. The balloons were cut with paper from the coordinating Birthday Girl solid color paper pack. I inked the edges for dimension and added highlights with a white gel pen. With a black marker, I even added strings for my balloons.

The back side of this card is just as adorable as the front ...

This card folds flat for mailing in a 5.5" x 6.5" or bigger envelope. There is a super cute cat version of this card as well. Be sure to check it out in Lori's store.

I am always in need of birthday cards and I needed one for a special lady who is a cat lover like me. I decided to modify this Valentine Shopping Bag Cat Box Card (SVG, Silhouette) so I could use it for a birthday.
