July Layout Share - My Creative Scrapbook

Hey everyone, sorry for being absent here. Just life keeping my busy.

I did want to show you what I created in July with the My Creative Scrapbook Main kit. This beautiful kit featured the Pebbles Fun In The Sun collection and some PhotoPlay Paper Sweet Sunshine.

1.  Beach DayBeach Day was fun to create. It features all the fun fruit ephemera in a layout about Hawaiian Shaved Ice.

You can catch the YouTube process video here ...

2.  Vacation Getaway - Vacation Getaway is another Hawaiian layout. How could I not with that surfboard paper and the awesome wave pattern paper.

3. Let's Make Summer Memories - This cut file is included with a kit subscription. The background paper is from 49th & Market and I am delighted that some of these mixed media painted foundation papers are finding their way into the kits! One of my grandson's favorite things to do when at our house is color in the driveway with chalk. One of the things you can also do while wearing a boot! (Yes, the little guy stubbed his toe and broke it.)

4.  Adventure - I created this cut file to use with the monthly sketch from My Creative Scrapbook. I really needed more blue paper though. I tried the purple pattern paper instead as well as an orange... but I am not a fan. I love everything else about this layout though.

My Creative Scrapbook puts together 4 kits every month. I used the Main kit for these layouts. Each kit is put together beautifully. There is really something for every kind of scrapbooker! Go check them all out.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

May Layout Share - My Creative Scrapbook

 Hello friends.

The beautiful My Creative Scrapbook May Main Kit featured the Sunny Blooms collection from Pebbles. While the die cut images are geared towards gardening and Easter, it's a versatile collection and can be used for every day and vacation photos as you will see. I made a kit unboxing video you can watch here...

Let me show you what I made with this pretty kit...

1. Explore - With this cloud pattern paper, I knew exactly what photos I wanted to scrap. The negative strip is an altered cut file from The Cut Shoppe and it is included with you kit subscription.

You can watch my YouTube process video here ...

2. Happy Heart - I had to scrap some Easter pics of my grandson with this adorable pattern paper with the bunnies.

You can Watch my YouTube process video here ...

3.  Fixer Upper - This layout was inspired by this polaroid cut file from The Cut Shoppe. It is included with your kit subscription. I thought it would be a great way to document my daughter's first house purchase (a fixer upper) and her home projects that made her house a home. I'm not so happy with my journaling ... wish I had done computer journaling instead, but I tell myself it is important to hand write sometimes.

4. Blossom - I had to include a gardening layout with all the stickers and die cuts that are geared towards gardening. I LOVE my flower and vegetable gardens!

5. Memories Together - With the papers and embellishments I had left, I thought I could scrap these fun photos of my daughter holding her nephew for the first time. This time with computer journaling, lol.

My Creative Scrapbook puts together 4 kits every month. I used the Main kit. Each kit is put together beautifully. There is really something for every kind of scrapbooker! Go check them all out.

Celebrating 17 years of PageMaps

 Hello friends!

Did you know PageMaps just turned 17? Seventeen awesome years of amazing sketches!! To help celebrate, I created a half birthday layout of my grandson using a photo of him going home from the hospital and another of him at 6 months in the same car seat. He's gigantic!!

I used papers and embellishments from the Pebbles Peek-a-boo You collection I've been hoarding in my stash and a cute canvas flair from Scrappin' Happy Studio. Here is the sketch ...

Here are some close-ups ...

If you need some inspiration, these sketches will definitely get your creativity flowing. Go check out all the newest sketches for May.

United We Stand - June PageMaps

 Hey everyone!

Are you ready for more amazing sketches from PageMaps? The June sketches did not disappoint. Here is the sketch I worked with ...

With Memorial Day celebrations and the 4th of July looming, I wanted to do a patriotic layout. I had some awesome photos of when my nephew Max returned from Afghanistan and couldn't wait to scrap them. I stashed bashed big time for this layout. This is an older Pebbles collection called Americana. The Thickers are from the Pebbles America The Beautiful collection.

I love all the layers here. This layout has a photo flip feature I created with my Love My Tapes washi tape. This washi tape has words from the Declaration of Independence so was ideal!

October layouts with the My Creative Scrapbook Main Kit

 Hello everyone!

I am going to try something different since I am having a hard time keeping up with my blog posts. Instead of posting one project at a time, I am going to share all of my My Creative Scrapbook October layouts in a single post. At least this way you will get to see more content.

The October Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook featured the gorgeous Peaceful Heart collection by Jen Hadfield for American Crafts. The kit subscription includes amazing cut files from PearTree Cut Files each month. In addition to that, a sketch for the month by Laura Whitaker is sure to inspire you to want to dive right into your kit.

My first layout Chapel On The Rocks was also my PageMaps layout this month. This beautiful church is located in the Rocky Mountains not far from Estes Park. If you are in the area you MUST stop to see this site!

Here is the sketch. Instead of using two smaller photos, I opted to use one large photo to showcase this photo.

The background paper is a mixed media sheet from a Vicki Boutin paper pad. I love how it brings out the colors in the photo.

My second layout features one of the cut files included in the kit subscription, a toadstool wreath. I used it to scrap another engagement photo of my niece. Lindy's Magicals were used to created this background.

You can watch my YouTube Process video here ...

My third layout features another of the October cut files from PearTree Cut files; Pumpkin Spice And All Things Nice. I love my pumpkin spice coffee so this layout has my latest selfie. (and Yes, my hair has turned white over the last few years.)

Here is the link to the YouTube process video ...

Here is my final layout with the kit ... I could have kept on creating though as I have a lot of pattern paper and embellishments remaining. I used the sketch by Laura Whitaker and another engagement photo of my niece.

Here is the sketch ...

Kiss Me - Lori Whitlock Box Card Tutorial

Hello everybody.

Valentine's Day is only a few weeks away. Are you ready yet? Lori Whitlock has the cutest new Valentine cards in her shop, like this Valentine Heart Envelope Box Card (SVG, Silhouette). I created this with pattern papers from Lori's Our Wedding collection by Echo Park and added some older ephemera from my Pebbles stash.

Let me show you how you can create this card. In Silhouette Studio, I turned on registration marks, then printed and cut the "I Love You" sentiment. No need for a stamp and ink pad. The registration marks help the Silhouette Cameo cut where it should, in this case the banner with the printed I Love You perfectly centered. You set registration marks in the Page Setup Window. Click on the third icon and select Registration Marks ON. You will know they are on when you see the grid appear at the top with the black square and corner marks. Go back to the first Page Setup menu and adjust the width and height so they match the size of the cardstock you are using in your printer. Check the Show Print Border and Show Cut Border. You want the text you are printing to be inside of the print border. Then remove the banner so only the text remains and send to the printer (see printer icon at very top on the left). Once printed, place your cardstock on your cutting mat and load into your Silhouette Cameo. Move the banner back into place around the I Love You and select Send to cut. Go back to the Page Setup to remove the registration marks and print border and resize the width and height back to 12x12.

Select your cardstock and pattern papers and cut shapes without resizing. This design has a lot of hearts that can make assembling confusing. I like to lay out my pieces as I cut them so I know exactly where they will go. This is easiest if you cut the card base and panels first.

Next, I ink the edges of my pattern papers. This subtle shading gives your cut pieces depth. Select an ink shade that matches your pattern papers as close as possible. It's better to go with a little darker shade rather than a lighter shade.

Adhere your panels down on the card base and create your box by gluing the tab on side to the back panel. Adhere the hearts to the center insert. You can use foam dots to pop a few of them up for dimension. Then glue the tabs of the insert to the inside of your box card lining everything up along the sides of the card.

Add remaining hearts to the back panel so they can be viewed above the center insert. Embellish as desired. I added these adorable fox and the large Kiss Me ephemera pieces.

On the back of the card I added a white circle for writing on and another ephemera piece.

I love these 3D cards! They fold flat for mailing, but can be popped up and displayed on a table or countertop. Send one to someone you know who could use a little extra love right now. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Blesssed - My Creative Scrapbook

 Hello blogging friends!

Just me again sharing my last layout with the beautiful November Main Kit from My Creative ScrapbookThis awesome kit features the Pebbles The Avenues collection as well as some Simple Stories Cozy Days, a stamp and stencil set from Hampton Art, and fabulous cut files from PearTree Cut Files.

I intended to use four photos on my last layout with its grid design, but pulled this photo off half way through. I thought I would use that photo on this page along with another cut file from  PearTree Cut Files and turn it into a 2 page layout.

If you missed my previous blog post, this is my daughter Naomi with Tuna our first foster failure on his Gotcha Day. After 13 years of love, Tuna crossed the rainbow bridge last month.

I used the cut file wreath as a base and layered the floral die cut ephemera from The Avenues over the top rather than back the cut file with pattern paper.

I stitched the butterflies together and left the strings hang. The title is a foam sticker from the Simple Stories Cozy Days collection.

Check out how easy this one came together.

Gotcha Day - My Creative Scrapbook

 Hello blogging friends!

Are you ready to see more of my layouts created with the November Main Kit from My Creative ScrapbookThis awesome kit features the beautiful Pebbles The Avenues collection as well as some Simple Stories Cozy Days. I warned you in a previous blog post that The Avenues die cut ephemera contains cats and dogs. Of course that led me to wanting to scrap cats and dogs this month. Sadly, 2020 has been the worst year for the Nix pets. My daughter Colette said goodby to both her dogs this year, we lost a cat to cancer, and my daughter Naomi recently said goodbye to our first foster failure, Tuna.  When he crossed the rainbow bridge I had to dig up his gotcha photos from 13 years ago and I created this ...

I used the November sketch from My Creative scrapbook. You can't go wrong with a grid design.

Such a great sketch!

I grabbed some PinkFresh alphas from my stash to create the title. The wood alphas match the woodgrain patter paper. The Viewmaster heart cut file (layered under the pretty floral ephemera) was found in the Silhouette store.

Where my previous layout was all about the blues. This one is soft with pinks.

Check out my YouTube process video to learn more about my foster failure Tuna and how this layout came together.
