Back to School Teacher Gift Box - Maya Road

I am so excited to be guest designing for Maya Road today! They sent me so many awesome products to work with. When I saw the Work It Office Die Bundle, I thought how perfect it would be to create a Teacher gift. I combined it with an Antique Wood Ruler, a Ken Oliver Vintage Typewriter Charm, and Ken Oliver Waxed Hemp in Fern Green and created this apple gift box (from SVGcuts)...

This apple box opens up and you can place candy and/or a gift card inside.

I really love these eye glasses in the die set, which also includes the notebook paper, the star, the check mark, and the pencil. A little vellum behind the eyeglasses makes them look more realistic. I attached the typewriter charm to the green waxed hemp and tied a bow ... isn't it lovely!

Hello Spring - JustNick Studios

I am back today kicking off a week of  JustNick Studio Spring inspiration. When I think of Spring I think of Sunshine and Flowers. Two things that after a long cold and snowy winter are like a breath of fresh air. So my layout today features sunshine and flowers ...



I started off by creating my background, using the Let It Shine Background digital cut file as a stencil to create my sun rays. Some stitching on the rays adds some definition and texture.



I add a little green to the bottom of my layout background for grass. A perfect setting for those Delicate Florals...





When it came time to choose a title, I could not resist using the new Hello Spring cut file. I backed the title with some of the same papers as I used for the flowers.



I am so happy with how this layout came together.

RAWR, Means I Love You In Dinosaur - Cocoa Vanilla Studios

Would you believe this is the first layout I have created in tree weeks! Hubby and I went on a much needed vacation to Hawaii. You are going to be seeing lots of vacation layouts here shortly! Being a working girl, taking a vacation means putting in long days before and after the vacation just trying to keep up. My free time has also been spent visiting a dear friend dying of brain cancer. She in now in hospice care. I pray she does not suffer too greatly now. I am just so grateful that I had a few months to spend with her after she was diagnosed.

But you are here to see my layout ... today I am sharing another boy layout created with the brand new collection from  Cocoa Vanilla Studios "Totally Rad". This awesome collection is just what you need to scrap those photos of your favorite guys. I thought the bold patterns and bright colors would be perfect for scrapping my nephew with a favorite dinosaur toy he received for his 2nd birthday.

 

Totally Rad still has all those awesome embellishments you love, like the die cut ephemera, flair buttons, woodies, wood veneers, and enamel shapes.

 

 I used the sticker Alphas to create my title, layered on top of one of the journal cards.

Family Laminate Photo Frame - Xyron

I've been doing a little more redecorating in my home. I purchased this photo frame for a bare spot above my stairs. It's one of those where you can hang an assortment of photos on it using clothespins. I cringed at the thought of dusting it though. So I thought laminating the photos would make my life a lot easier and protect the photos from harm as well. I love my Xyron 9" Creative Station for laminating. It is so easy! Besides photos, I decided to hang a pretty card with a Family quote and a heart doily. I used the Basic Grey Dear Heart collection. The soft pinks, grays, and greens are just so beautiful. Here is how my frame turned out...

Let me show you how I did it.

Supplies:

Xyron 9" Creative Station with Permanent Adhesive and Laminating cartridge

Xyron 3" Sticker Maker

Xyron Mega Runner

Basic Grey Dear Heart Papers and Stickers

Clothespins

Twine

Step 1.  Choose what photos you want to use and run them through your Xyron 9" Creative Station with Permanent Adhesive loaded then adhere them to different Dear Heart pattern papers. Embellish the photos with stickers.

Step 2.  Run the vellum quote through the Xyron 3" Sticker Maker and adhere to a piece of pattern paper.

Step 3.  Create a card with the Family quote and the Dear Heart pattern papers using the Xyron Mega Runner to adhere the pieces together. Die cut a heart doily from patter paper as well.

Step 4.  Run the mounted photos, and family card and doily through the Xyron 9" Creative Station with the laminating cartridge loaded.

Step 5.  Trim the laminate about 1/4" away from edge of your papers. You want to leave a little edge to seal and protect.

Now you are ready to arrange everything on your frame. I used some small white clothespins to hang my photos.

This Is Bliss - Clique Kits

I am back today with another layout to share with you that I created with the January Clique Kit featuring the fun Fancy Pants Designs Happy Place collection. Once again I am using that beautiful floral print paper with some pictures I took of my nephew Harper enjoying a popsicle.

 

 

 Isn't he a Cutie Patootie! He is even sharing his popsicle with his stuffed monkey. That adorable little origami elephant was perfect for these photos.

   

 I created this layout while cropping with a friend this past weekend. I hate packing and unpacking when going to a crop, so I tend to take the bare minimum. Of course I took my January Clique Kit with all those coordinating embellishments. It makes planning for a crop so much easier! I did not however bring any mixed media paints, gesso, etc ... I wanted to make sure everything was dry when it was time for me to pack up and go. I do however always bring my Quick Quotes Powderpuff Chalk Inks and sponge daubers with me. They are perfect for adding just a little bit of color. I used it to highlight text on the script paper and also around the edges of my entire layout.

 

 

 I didn't even need my Silhouette for this layout. These ephemera die cuts from the Happy Place collection make for the perfect title.

Top Dog Dies - Winter Cards

I am back with a few more Top Dog Dies cards that I created for the new release. I used the Penguin die set and the Snowman die set on these cards...

These were such fun dies to play with! Since they are for winter card making I thought I would not use any pattern paper and instead make use of my white space. I have to tell you, it makes me feel a little naked without the pattern paper, lol. 

I used a Kaisercraft stamp for the "It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year". I love the tree shape it makes. I also made use of the snowflakes from the Polar Bear die set I featured yesterday and the snow mound using a die from the Penguin die set.

Ok....so here is my Penguin card ...

I created the snowflake background using a stencil from Memory Box and my Quick Quotes Powderpuff chalk ink. The "Fa la La la la" stamp is from Elle's Studio. It's so festive!

Have a Boo-tiful Day - Top Dog Dies

I am having so much fun with the new Top Dog Dies! I LOVE all the new Halloween dies. They are so much fun. Today I created a shaker card using the Top Dog Dies Haunted House die set.

Don't you just love this! Here is the card I created...

I created a water color sky and moon background for my shaker card and arranged some die cut bats over the moon where they would get noticed. Some headstones are inside the shaker in the lower left and a few more are on the outside. I stamped my sentiment on using Quick Quotes chalk ink pad in white. It really stands out on the black cardstock.

April and May Pubs! For Real!!

Hello blogging friends! Wahooo its Friday! I thought it would never come. My kids are going camping without me, so I am planning a relaxing weekend of cleaning and scrapping. Maybe I can talk hubby into going to a movie :)

I realized I had not yet shared my April pub so here it is ...

I first made this Christmas ornament when guest designing for Little Yellow Bicycle for their Once Upon a Christmas collection. Cricut Magazine published it for a Butterfly and Birds call. The body of this bird is an ornament shape turned sideways. I cut sixteen of them, scored them down the middle and adhered them together to make it 3-dimensional. The feather trim is my favorite part :)

This Imaginisce layout using the Childhood Memories collection appeared in the May Scrapbook Trends Magazine. I love these pics of my daughter. Boy, did she love to swing. Do you think?

This anniversary card I made for my hubby (our 30th anniversary!) appeared in the May Cards Magazine. I used the Quick Quotes Dusty Rose collection and Cheery Lynn dies. That gorgeous ribbon is from an Etsy shop call Prairie Bird Boutique and the bling is from Want2Scrap.

I kind-of stole this card back from my hubby after I gave it to him, Shhhh.
