April Layout Share - My Creative Scrapbook

  Hello friends.

The beautiful My Creative Scrapbook April Main Kit featured the Making The Best Of It collection from Pinkfresh Studios. While the colors are spring like, this kit is versatile enough for every day and vacation photos as you will see.

Let me show you what I made...

1.  Sharing This Beautiful Story - I cut this scallop pattern paper all apart and arranged it into a heart which framed my photo perfectly. Watch my YouTube process video to see how you can adhere the vellum floral ephemera bits down without the glue showing through,

2. LOVE, I Want To Be Everywhere With You - My daughter recently went to Costa Rica  for a friend's destination wedding. I couldn't help but scrap this gorgeous photo of her and her boyfriend. Again, I cut a sheet of chevron pattern paper all apart and rearranged it to frame my photo. Lots and lots of machine stitching on this one!

3. This Was Meant To Be - Another layout documenting my newest grand fur baby's gotcha day. I used the April monthly sketch by Laura Whitaker.

4. Spring Is In The Air - I couldn't help but use this gorgeous cut file from The Cut Shoppe that was included with the April kit subscription. I backed the cut file with one of the pattern  papers from the Making The Best Of It collection. The mixed media background sheet is from 49th and Market that came from my stash. Aren't these the cutest pics of my grandson enjoying a ride in a swing?

My Creative Scrapbook puts together 4 kits every month. I used the Main kit. Each kit is put together beautifully. There is really something for every kind of scrapbooker! Go check them all out.

My Creative Scrapbook October Layout Share

 Hello everyone!

I am so excited to share with you what I created with the October Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook which featured the American Crafts Farmstead Harvest collection along with some pattern papers and chipboard from the Carta Bella Hello Autumn collection. Let me show you what I created ...

1. Thankful - My daughter just bought a house so I was immediately drawn to this house pattern paper and she sent me the cutest photos her realtor took. Watch my process video here for all the details...

2. Hey Pumpkin - When your dog loves Pumpkin Spice Lattes just as much as you, you have to scrapbook it, right? Hear all about Princeton and see this layout come together.

3.  Happy Fall - Best way to enjoy those Fall colors is on out new e-bikes!

4.  Enjoy The Small Things - like Honeycrisp apples from your favorite apple orchard. I used the Vicki Boutin Sweet Rush stencil that was included in the kit to create my own mixed media background. Then I created a pile of leaves underneath my photo. Watch my process video here...

April Layouts with the My Creative Scrapbook Main Kit

 Hello everyone!

I am so excited to share my layouts this month that I created with the gorgeous April Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook featuring the new Paige Evans Blooming Wild collection from American Crafts. This month's kit included Creative Expressions chipboard titles and exclusive cut files from Peartree Cut Files.

1. Getaway

My daughter Colette has been wanting to visit wine country in California for a while and finally got a chance. If you look closely at the photo, you can see the rows of grapes behind her. When I saw the pattern paper with rows in squares I knew it was a match made in heaven. Add some fussy cut flowers and wow, did it turn out pretty! Watch my process video for more details.

2. Shine Bright

This grandma loves any time she can get with her grandson! I used the monthly sketch on this one and even tried some daisy chain hand stitching. But the best part of this layout is that mixed media rainbow. See how I created it here ...

3. You Sparkle

For my third layout I scrapped a photo of my niece enjoying the holiday lights last December. I wanted to use the You Sparkle Creative Expressions chipboard title.

 4. Time To Bloom

My niece and her baby girl were recently baptized together. I love this soft photo of the two of them. Distress inks were used to add color to a Peartree cut file included with the kit subscription. I kept my layout soft with pops of color to draw the eye.

United We Stand - June PageMaps

 Hey everyone!

Are you ready for more amazing sketches from PageMaps? The June sketches did not disappoint. Here is the sketch I worked with ...

With Memorial Day celebrations and the 4th of July looming, I wanted to do a patriotic layout. I had some awesome photos of when my nephew Max returned from Afghanistan and couldn't wait to scrap them. I stashed bashed big time for this layout. This is an older Pebbles collection called Americana. The Thickers are from the Pebbles America The Beautiful collection.

I love all the layers here. This layout has a photo flip feature I created with my Love My Tapes washi tape. This washi tape has words from the Declaration of Independence so was ideal!

November Layouts with the My Creative Scrapbook Main Kit

 Hello blogging friends!

I can't wait to show you what I created with the November Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook. This gorgeous kit featured the Crate Paper Busy Sidewalks collection and cut files from PearTree Cut Files.

Layout 1 is based on the monthly My Creative Scrapbook sketch by Laura Whitaker. I recently purchased some new Vicki Boutin stencils from her Warm Wishes collection and couldn't wait to make a snowy scene on a layout with it. So easy to do with Vicki Boutin's iridescent glaze.

Here is the sketch which I followed pretty close. I love the banner I added. It gives it a touch of whimsy. These are older pics of my son. He used to be such a ham for the camera.

Catch my YouTube process video here to find out how to make it and see more detailed pics.

Layout 2 my focus was on using these beautiful fussy cut flowers from the poinsettia pattern paper. and this Cozy Little Christmas cut file from PearTree Cut files that is included in a kit subscription. This photo is a more recent one of my daughter and her dog Nana. I love it for this title because they are wearing matching Sherpa sweaters.

Catch my YouTube process video here to find out how to make it and see more detailed pics.

Layout 3 features our dog Princeton enjoying his Christmas present, a very large bone. The gifts on the pattern paper was very fitting as were the tags. This cut file is another from PearTree Cut Files and included in the kit subscription.

Sorry no YouTube process video for this one. (yet)

Layout 4 I was determined to use that black cat all wrapped up in Christmas lights. I snapped this selfie of my favorite kitty Spook in my lap last Christmas and knew it would be the perfect photo! I used lots more poinsettias here as I still had a lot left over and yet another cut file from PearTree Cut Files.

This layout has a YouTube process video for you to see how it came together as well as more detailed pics.

My Creative Scrapbook July Main Kit - Vicki Boutin Color Study

 Hello blogging friends

I apologize for the lack of content on my blog the past few months. I just can't seem to catch up after a scrap room remodel in March. I am still organizing, purging, and creating in the middle of it all. I hope to have some new YouTube videos up in my channel soon.

Working with the July Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook was an absolute joy! I love Vicki Boutin's color study collection! Here are the four layouts I created with it.

First up is Create Yourself. This paint brush floral cut file is included in the kit subscription and is from Peartree Cut Files

I was so happy to have some paint ephemera die cuts that I could use to embellish this page that features a photo of my kids and I with our Matisse Cats we painted at our local Paint Pub.

I used a pattern paper with stripes of warm reds, pinks, yellows and orange colors  to give the illusion of painting stripes of color. I kept the florals in the same color scheme.

For my second layout I went for a big title. This Sleep Snack Snap Scrap cut file was a freebie from Cut To You for National Scrapbook Day. I seriously love how these colors pop against a black background.

I love how this cut with the ombre blue pattern paper. Rather than back my cut file, I used foam tape to pop up the letters and give it some dimension. Then I tucked some fussy cut flowers underneath.

And look! Here is another picture of me at a crop a few years ago before glasses and before I went grey, lol.

My third layout features my husband and I at a sunflower field last summer. I kept looking for the right paper collection to scrap this photo. The bright yellows were perfect!

This layout is based on a sketch from Laura Whitaker. All those layers are so yummy!

And my final layout ... Yet another picture of me! This never happens people. You know I almost always scrap my kids. They lead much more exciting lives, lol.

I went on a European vacation with my eldest daughter in 2018 before the pandemic. I am so glad that I got to spend some special time with her. Paris was a magical place and we cannot wait to return. This cut file is included in the kit subscription and also from Peartree Cut files. I backed the cut file with the color wheel pattern paper and added a few scattered hearts myself. I even took the time to stitch this keeping the rainbow theme going. Thankfully the black cardstock hides the blood from needle pricks of my fingers.

Thanks so much for stopping by. If you are interested in subscribing to  My Creative Scrapbook to receive their kits each month you will not be disappointed! They actually have 4 different kits, so there is something for every kind of scrapbooker.

Blesssed - My Creative Scrapbook

 Hello blogging friends!

Just me again sharing my last layout with the beautiful November Main Kit from My Creative ScrapbookThis awesome kit features the Pebbles The Avenues collection as well as some Simple Stories Cozy Days, a stamp and stencil set from Hampton Art, and fabulous cut files from PearTree Cut Files.

I intended to use four photos on my last layout with its grid design, but pulled this photo off half way through. I thought I would use that photo on this page along with another cut file from  PearTree Cut Files and turn it into a 2 page layout.

If you missed my previous blog post, this is my daughter Naomi with Tuna our first foster failure on his Gotcha Day. After 13 years of love, Tuna crossed the rainbow bridge last month.

I used the cut file wreath as a base and layered the floral die cut ephemera from The Avenues over the top rather than back the cut file with pattern paper.

I stitched the butterflies together and left the strings hang. The title is a foam sticker from the Simple Stories Cozy Days collection.

Check out how easy this one came together.

Family Is Everything - My Creative Scrapbook

 Hello blogging friends!

I'm back today to share my second layout I created with the beautiful November Main kit from My Creative ScrapbookThis awesome kit features the Pebbles The Avenues collection as well as some Simple Stories Cozy Days, a stamp and stencil set from Hampton Art, and fabulous cut files from PearTree Cut Files. Starting to create this layout I knew I wanted to use the Family Is Everything cut file from PearTree Cut Files and I wanted to play with my Distress Oxide inks on a black background. Here is how it turned out ...

This pattern paper is from the Pebbles The Avenues collection. Is that mixed media background not AMAZING! Look at that color!!

I used lots of the die cut floral ephemera pieces sticking to the blues. There are even cat and dog ephemera pieces so of course I had to use them.

And look... a family photo! It's a miracle!!!! Or at least a rare event for my 911 dispatcher daughter, my emergency veterinarian daughter, and my bar manager son.

I LOVE these cut files from PearTree Cut Files. She is located in the UK, but the digital cut files are instant downloads and currency can be converted to dollars.

More die cut ephemera here and foam stickers from the Simple Stories Cozy Days.

Take a look at my trial and error approach to using the distress inks.

New Beginnings Together - PageMaps

 Hello blogging friends!

I can't believe its already November! That means the new PageMaps sketches are live! Becky's sketches are sure to inspire you to get out some paper and glue again. Here is the sketch I used.

Today I am scrapping a photo of my daughter Colette and her dog Sue. They recently moved to Colorado and love it there. One of their favorite things to do is get out and hike on one of many trails in the mountains. Here they are visiting Eldorado Canyon. I love that big smile on that dog's face!

I used the gorgeous new Crate Paper Marigold collection by Maggie Holmes. The little woodland creatures were perfect to add as embellishments. Here are some close-ups. This deer is so adorable. I wish just the deer was sold in packs, I would use them all the time.

Here you can get a glimpse of the mixed media background I created with spray mist as well as more beautiful embellishments.

Fussy cut flowers add a touch of femininity and softens the look.

I have a new YouTube process video available for this layout. I would love it if you would watch.
