Shaker Baby Rattle - Lori Whitlock Blog Hop Time

Hello friends! It's blog hop time at Lori Whitlock!

Here is the blog hop order in case you want to start at the top or get lost along the way...

I wanted to make something to embellish the packaging of a baby shower gift for my son and girlfriend and found this adorable Shaker Baby Rattle (SVGSilhouette). Who could resist shaking this gift now!

Layers of the rattle are built up so that you can insert chunkier objects. I placed a rocking horse button and small sequin stars inside mine. This adorable button had a shank fastener on the back of the button that I just snipped off.

Go check out all of Lori's new designs and while you are at it, grab this FREE cut file! No code or minimum purchase required.

Did I mention all those designs are 30% off!!!!!  Use code MAY2022 to get 30% off all SVGs, Fonts and Commercial Licenses!

And finally, how would you like to win a $20 Coupon to the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop?

Thanks so much for stopping by. Your next stop is Brigit Mann.

Vintage Truck Holiday Gift - Jillibean Soup

Hello blogging friends!

My husband is restoring an old truck...  ok, so maybe not so much restoring right now as the truck is in pieces in our garage! I hope the restoration will start soon. Anyway, when I say this Vintage Truck svg from SVGcuts, I knew I had to make it. The old guy's birthday is coming up after all. But I discovered that a small loaf of banana or pumpkin bread fits in the truck bed perfectly and I thought it would also make a really cool hostess gift. I guess I'll need to make a few more of these.

I used a Jillibean Soup digital cut file available in the Silhouette Store and printed it on vellum for my truck's door signs. Jillibean Soup has lots of cut files you could choose from. I opted for the dairy sign as my father grew up on a dairy farm, but there are pigs, chickens, cow, flower signs as well.

Of course you want a hostess gift to look pretty too so I added a Jillibean Soup shaker tag and huge bow to the bread bag. Here too I used another Jillibean Soup digital cut file and printed it right on the tag. It looks like I stamped it! I filled the shaker with two shades of blue beads. I didn't want to cover up the words though.

I love how this turned out. It even has headlights and taillights!. Be sure to check out SVGcuts because their 3D cut files will astound you.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Jillibean Soup Cards

Hello blogging friends!

I have a couple cards to share with you that I created with Jillibean Soup products including digital cut files. The first one I created for my neighbor who just had a liver transplant. I thought the Just Keep Swimming sentiment would be perfect for him. He has a long recovery ahead. I combined it with the Octopus stamp set (one of the fish stamps looks like a Nemo!) and a square shaker card. Some self adhesive sequins give it some bling and look like bubbles.

My second card is also a shaker card. I used the Starburst and You Are My Sunshine Jillibean Soup digital cut files to create my sun and sentiment. Here too I used the self adhesive sequins... they are perfect for adding a little extra sparkle!

Do you love to create shaker cards too?  Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Have a Boo-tiful Day - Top Dog Dies

Hello blogging friends.

I am having so much fun with the new Top Dog Dies! I LOVE all the new Halloween dies. They are so much fun. Today I created a shaker card using the Top Dog Dies Haunted House die set.

Don't you just love this! Here is the card I created...

I created a water color sky and moon background for my shaker card and arranged some die cut bats over the moon where they would get noticed. Some headstones are inside the shaker in the lower left and a few more are on the outside. I stamped my sentiment on using Quick Quotes chalk ink pad in white. It really stands out on the black cardstock.

Supplies:

Sparkle - Xyron and Craftwell tutorial

Hello blogging friends.

Xyron teamed up with Craftwell again and I was lucky enough to be able to play with the "Girls Best Friend" die set by the amazing Teresa Collins.

I knew straight off that I wanted to make a shaker card with lots of sparkling sequins. Take a look at the cards I created.

and another view when the card is flat, so you can see more of those sequins, stars, and diamond rings.

Let me show you how I created it....

Step 1.  Cut a piece of cardstock for your card front and using the Sparkle die, run it through your die cut machine.

Step 2.  Lay this die cut on top of a piece of foam, cut slightly smaller than the card front. Carefully mark where the top, bottom and sides are so you can later cut this away.

Step 3.  Run the foam through the Xyron 9" Creative Station with the 5" permanent adhesive.

Step 4.  Trim away the foam using our markings as a guide. You will want to trim away about 1/4" more at least so this is not visible from the front of the card. Adhere this to your card base.

Step 5.  Let's die cut some stars and rings for our shaker card out of gold foil paper.

Step 6.  Fill the cut out space with sequins and die cuts.

Step 7.  Run the card front through the Xyron 9" Creative Station with the 5" permanent adhesive.

Step 8.  Trim a piece of acetate and adhere to back side of card front.

Step 9.  Apply some Xyron Double Sided High Tack Tape to the side edges of the acetate. This will keep the sequins and dies from escaping.

Step 10.  Carefully line up card front edges with the card base. Then you are ready to shake, shake, shake.

Now, I don't like to throw away beautiful die-cuts or scraps, so I created a second card using the positive Sparkle die cut.

Here is how I created this one...

Step 1.  Insert the die cut face down into Xyron 1.5" Sticker Maker.

Step 2.  Peel off paper backing and place face down in glitter. Press firmly to get the glitter to stick all over.

Step 3.  Run a scrap piece of the gold foil paper through the Xyron 3" Sticker Maker. I love taking this one to crops instead of packing my larger Creative Station.

Step 4.  Place die cut on top of foil paper and run through you die cut machine.

Step 5.  Assemble your card. When you are ready to use the die cuts, just peel off the paper backing.

Step 6.  Adhere the Sparkle die cut and some stars and your card is complete.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have a great week.

Congratulations on Your Wedding Day - Still Shaking it up for Top Dog Dies!

Hello blogging friends! Did you know Top Dog Dies just released some more new dies? I think they are my favorite yet. Here are just a few.... Hop over to the store to see everything.

These last 2 dies are designed for Project Life scrappers. Yup, they are just the right size so you can create your own PL cards! and they are so awesome on cards too!

Being inspired by the shaker card blog hop this past weekend, I decided to try another shaker card with the wedding couple....

I filled the inside of my shaker with sequins and glass glitter. This stamp sentiment is from the amazing Altenew Ori Kami set available in the Clique Store for a limited time. When they are gone, they are gone. (use coupon code Marcia10 and save 10%). Oh... and this gorgeous paper was part of the Clique Kits Spring card kit. There just might be a few of those left too.

NSD at Clique Kits

Hello blogging friends! Saturday was National Scrapbook Day, but at Clique Kits we are celebrating today with challenges on the Facebook NSD Event page all day long. Lots of fabulous prizes too.

My challenge is to add some stitching to your project with either a sewing machine or faux stitching.
I used the gorgeous Fancy Pants Designs Office Suite collection that was included in the Clique Kits NSD kit to create this adorable shaker card.

I use a cut file from The Cut Shoppe that was a freebie on their blog yesterday. I couldn't wait to turn that Hello tag into a shaker. I LOVE how it turned out.

Did you do any scrapping for NSD?
