Dresden - PageMaps

Hello blogging friends!

Happy New Year! Since it's a new month, that also means that it's time for new PageMaps sketches too. Here is the sketch I worked with this month...

I loved the 3 larger photos in this sketch and thought it would be perfect for some of my favorite pictures of Dresden Germany from my Europe trip a year ago. Dresden is a gorgeous city! I wanted to use gorgeous papers and ephemera pieces to help showcase just how pretty so I pulled out the beautiful PinkFresh Studios Just A Little Lovely collection. It did not disappoint!

The clear acetate ephemera pieces with gold foil accents are hands down my favorites. I also used ephemera die cuts, enamel dots, and puffy stickers. To keep an open airy feel, I used the Outline Alphas digital cut file from JustNick Studios for my title.

Supplies:
PinkFresh Studios - Just A Little Lovely: 12x12 Pattern Paper: Hope
PinkFresh Studios - Just A Little Lovely: Acetate Ephemera pack with Foil Accents
PinkFresh Studios - Just A Little Lovely: Puffy Phrase Stickers
PinkFresh Studios - Just A Little Lovely: Puffy Stickers
PinkFresh Studios - Just A Little Lovely: Ephemera pack
PinkFresh Studios - Just A Little Lovely: Mixed Embellishment pack

Go check out the other sketches. They are sure to inspire you too.

Merry Little Christmas Mini Album - Pebbles

Hello blogging friends!

Check out my cute little Christmas mini album I created for Pebbles with the Merry Little Christmas collection. I don't do a December Daily, but you could get some ideas for yours here.

My cover features a 3x4 journal card with layered ephemera die cuts and stickers,

I haven't added any photos yet...

I added a couple acetate pages. On this one I adhered the FaLaLa cut file from JustNick Studios. I love being able to see through the acetate to the page behind.

Stars on the back side of the acetate help cover up my glue dots.

This gingerbread border is from a Paige Taylor Evans cut file.

The Pebbles Merry Little Christmas collection has a variety of ephemera die cuts and pattern papers. It's easy to create pages for outdoor winter fun, as well as Christmas pages.

The snowflake cut file is available in the Silhouette store.

Here is my second acetate page. On this one I layered a cut file wreath from JustNick Studios.

On the back cover, I added another JustNick Studios cut file.

This was so much fun to make!
Check out my Youtube  video to see this album in more detail.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Happy holidays!

Fun In The Sun - JustNick Studios

Hello blogging friends!

Have you seen the new JustNick Studios Fun In The Sun title in the on-line store? I wanted to combine it with the South Pacific Floral digital cut file, but not in the usual way. I busted out my Silhouette sketch pens and instead of cutting out the design, I sketched it instead. Then I dug out my watercolors and got busy adding some color to the sketched design. This gave me a gorgeous unique background that I could use to scrap some Waikiki Beach photos and perfect for the Heidi Swapp Pineapple Crush collection. Take a look at how my layout turned out...

I am by no means good when it comes to watercolors, but it's fun to play with them sometimes and I am happy with the results. I applied a layer of gesso over the top of the sketched design. This helps to blend the colors later. It muted the lines a little, but I like that it's soft. Here is a closer look...

I absolutely love the new Fun In The Sun title. I backed the middle with a blue watercolor pattern paper. I felt I needed to bring in a little more blue besides the blue in my photos.

I backed the alphas with a script pattern paper in white. I wanted to keep my layout bright and airy.

If you are interested in seeing my process video here is the link to my YouTube channel.

Here are the digital cut files I used today ...

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you will try using a sketch pen in your die cutting machine. It's really easy to do.

Snow Adorable - JustNick Studios

Hello blogging friends!

I am back today with a fun winter layout to share with you. I live in Minnesota where you can always count on cold and snowy winters. When I saw the new JustNick Studio Frostbite Background digital cut file, I couldn't wait to use it with this outdoor photo of my daughter and her dog.

I wanted to add some of the beautiful snowflakes from the Snowflakes 2 digital cut file and create a visual triangle with them. I cut 3 of the 4 snowflakes in this cut file pretty large and arranged them so that they were partially off the page.

I like to mix fonts when creating my titles so I used the scripty "Snow" from the Holiday Words digital cut file and combined it with some Thickers from my stash.

When its -15 degrees Fahrenheit outside, you definitely want to keep warm and snuggle up!

Here are the JustNick Studio digital cut files I used today ...

For more details on how I created my Snow Adorable scrapbook layout, I would love to have you stop by and watch my YouTube process video.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a great weekend!

Bubble Blowing Fun - JustNick Studios

Hello blogging friends!

I have an awesome layout to share today using some fabulous JustNick Studios digital cut files. This one has a photo of my daughter at 15. She had just learned how to blow bubbles with her bubble gum. Of course, after learning how, she was chewing gum and blowing bubbles all the time. I thought it would be fun to use lots of circles in my design to put the emphasis on the bubbles. I selected the Protozoa Background and selectively backed only a few of the circles.

I used a sheet of acetate to back my cut file. The acetate sheet had lots of colorful circles on it as well. I created my title by mixing the Outline Alpha  and the Script Font digital cut files. I backed the outline alpha letters with a marbled pattern paper that reminded me of bubble gum.

Here is a closer look...

I framed my photo with the Round and Round cut file, adding even more circles to my design.

Here are the cut files I used today ...
