August Layout Share - My Creative Scrapbook

Hey everyone. I am so excited to share my layouts created with the August Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook. This amazing kit featured the new Paige Evans Adventurous collection from American Crafts. This kit also contained a painted foundations background from 49th & Market and this fun Summer Bucket List cut file from the Cut Shoppe. Here's what I created ...

1. Wander, The Road To Hana - I'm still scrapping photos from our latest Hawaii trip. We decided we had to see what the iconic road to Hana was all about. Depending on where you stop, this could be an all day trip! The road is winding and only one lane in many places, so it's slow going when you have to wait for cars going in the other direction before you can continue on. We did stop to see some gorgeous sites though. Watch my YouTube process video here ...

2. Summer Bucket List - This travel collection is easy to use on some everyday photos too. Of course I snuck in a layout of my grandson. Cut file is included with a kit subscription and is from the Cut Shoppe.

3. The Mountains Are Calling - My daughter was so excited the other week. She took her puppy Sullivan with her on a mountain hike and he did great! He loved it!! I used the 49th & Market Painted foundations background paper that was included in the kit.

4. Breakfast With Mini Mouse - I took great liberties with the monthly sketch. I immediately thought mouse ears when I saw it. (A side effect of babysitting my grandson and watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse).

My Creative Scrapbook puts together 4 kits every month. I used the Main kit for these layouts. Each kit is put together beautifully. There is really something for every kind of scrapbooker! Go check them all out.

July Layout Share - My Creative Scrapbook

Hey everyone, sorry for being absent here. Just life keeping my busy.

I did want to show you what I created in July with the My Creative Scrapbook Main kit. This beautiful kit featured the Pebbles Fun In The Sun collection and some PhotoPlay Paper Sweet Sunshine.

1.  Beach DayBeach Day was fun to create. It features all the fun fruit ephemera in a layout about Hawaiian Shaved Ice.

You can catch the YouTube process video here ...

2.  Vacation Getaway - Vacation Getaway is another Hawaiian layout. How could I not with that surfboard paper and the awesome wave pattern paper.

3. Let's Make Summer Memories - This cut file is included with a kit subscription. The background paper is from 49th & Market and I am delighted that some of these mixed media painted foundation papers are finding their way into the kits! One of my grandson's favorite things to do when at our house is color in the driveway with chalk. One of the things you can also do while wearing a boot! (Yes, the little guy stubbed his toe and broke it.)

4.  Adventure - I created this cut file to use with the monthly sketch from My Creative Scrapbook. I really needed more blue paper though. I tried the purple pattern paper instead as well as an orange... but I am not a fan. I love everything else about this layout though.

June Layout Share - My Creative Scrapbook

  Hello friends.

The fabulous My Creative Scrapbook June Main Kit features the Simple Stories Pack Your Bags collection along with some Vicki Boutin Where To Next pattern papers and an Echo Park Paper sticker sheet. With it's bright colors, I was inspired to scrap photos from my trip to New York City trip last fall. I added some epoxy flair from Scrappin Happy Studio to help set the scene.

1. Explore The Big Apple - I wanted to create a nighttime skyline for my first layout using some Tattered Angels spray mist.

You can watch the YouTube process video here...

2. Ready For An Adventure - When you visit the Empire State Building with zero visibility you have to buy the photos they take because you don't have any photos except of clouds. I especially liked the King Kong photo it worked well with the viewmaster cut file and the planes.

You can watch the YouTube process video here...

3. Where To Next - I fussy cut a lot of the automobiles, buses, and taxis from one of the Simple Stories pattern papers. I wanted to convey the busy New York City Streets with some of my street photos. The negative strip cut file is one I created myself. The background paper is a 49 & Market Spectrum Sorbet Painted Foundation and is from my stash.

4. Time For A Vacation - For my last layout I used the monthly sketch for inspiration. When we visited the Statue of Liberty I bought these foam crowns from the gift store before boarding the ferry back. They made for some of my favorite pics! I even saved my ticket and added it to this layout.

April Layout Share - My Creative Scrapbook

  Hello friends.

The beautiful My Creative Scrapbook April Main Kit featured the Making The Best Of It collection from Pinkfresh Studios. While the colors are spring like, this kit is versatile enough for every day and vacation photos as you will see.

Let me show you what I made...

1.  Sharing This Beautiful Story - I cut this scallop pattern paper all apart and arranged it into a heart which framed my photo perfectly. Watch my YouTube process video to see how you can adhere the vellum floral ephemera bits down without the glue showing through,

2. LOVE, I Want To Be Everywhere With You - My daughter recently went to Costa Rica  for a friend's destination wedding. I couldn't help but scrap this gorgeous photo of her and her boyfriend. Again, I cut a sheet of chevron pattern paper all apart and rearranged it to frame my photo. Lots and lots of machine stitching on this one!

3. This Was Meant To Be - Another layout documenting my newest grand fur baby's gotcha day. I used the April monthly sketch by Laura Whitaker.

4. Spring Is In The Air - I couldn't help but use this gorgeous cut file from The Cut Shoppe that was included with the April kit subscription. I backed the cut file with one of the pattern  papers from the Making The Best Of It collection. The mixed media background sheet is from 49th and Market that came from my stash. Aren't these the cutest pics of my grandson enjoying a ride in a swing?

My Creative Scrapbook puts together 4 kits every month. I used the Main kit. Each kit is put together beautifully. There is really something for every kind of scrapbooker! Go check them all out.

June My Creative Scrapbook Main Kit Layout Share plus a Free Cut File

Hello friends,

Have you seen the gorgeous Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook? This amazing kit features the Vicki Boutin Where to Next collection with extra die cut ephemera from Echo Park Paper Endless Summer. The Summer ephemera really makes this a versatile kit that could be used for all your summer and travel photos. Want to see what I created with it?

1. Time To Relax - For me a tropical vacation must include my favorite pina colada, preferably pool side. Those drinks include those cute umbrellas. These colorful circles I have fussy cut out is from the Umbrella pattern paper in the Where To Next collection and it was the inspiration for this layout. I decided to play up the circles. The cut file is included with a kit subscription is from The Cut Shoppe. Watch my process video to learn how to make rosettes and see how this fun layout came together.

2.  A Little Getaway Adventure - This layout showcases eight photos from our recent Key West Florida adventure. My favorite way to include lots of photos is with a film strip. The film strip cut file is one I created myself and if you visit my YouTube channel, you'll be able to download the cut file yourself. Please use it for your personnel use only. Hopefully you will subscribe to my YouTube channel while you are at it.

3. Discover New Places - My favorite go to embellishments are die cut ephemera. Looking through the ephemera pieces I saw this ukulele from the Echo Park Endless Summer collection which made me think of Hawaii. Check out my YouTube process video to see this layout come together. I used a sketch from the June PageMaps.

4. Happy Times - I challenged myself to create a summer layout for my final share. I haven't had time yet to create a process video for it. This layout features my adorable niece. Don't you just love her ice cream cone eating technique? The Where To Next collection has these amazing tags and I decided to use them sideways so you could see the fun artwork and also use one for a journal spot.

I have so much product left from this kit to create with and more ideas I want to implement. So stop back when I have more to share.
You can purchase a kit here ... https://linktr.ee/MyCreativeScrapbook . Check out the other kits available as well.

My Creative Scrapbook January Main Kit Layout Share

 Hello everyone!

I am really excited to share my layouts with the My Creative Scrapbook January Main kit. This gorgeous kit features the Vicki Boutin Print Shop collection from American Crafts, a Vicki Boutin stencil, and cut files from PearTree Cut Files.

1, Hello Sweet Allie is my first layout. This is my first scrapbook layout about her so you may not know that we foster failed on this sweetie last September. She is just over a year old now and couldn't be sweeter! Even the cats love her! When of the things I did on this layout was to combine the kit stencil with a previous stencil from an earlier kit. I love the effect! I used a Stencil Alpha font from JustNick Studios for her name. Epoxy flair is from Scrappin' Happy Studio.

You can get all the details how how to combine stencils by watching my YouTube Video here ...

2.  Snapshots - This layout is based on the monthly sketch by Laura Whitaker. Because it had strips of photos, I thought it would be cool to frame the photos so that they look like negative strips. I created this cut file myself... not hard, it's just repeating rectangles and squares. I used photos from a trip to Aspen with my husband and daughter Colette who is now living in Colorado. We hike Maroon Bells and it was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been.

3. This past August I became a Grandma! I can't tell you how good it feels to see your son taking an active role in my grandson's care. Stinky diapers and all! I had to document the special connection they have. The cut file is from PearTree Cut Files and is included in the kit subscription. Epoxy flair is from Scrappin' Happy Studio.

4.  I couldn't leave Mom out of the picture so my final layout is a sweet photo of her and my grandson Jameson.

I have lots of pattern papers, ephemera die cuts, and chipboard stickers left over for many more layouts. These kits are an amazing value! Please check out all the kits from My Creative Scrapbook here... https://linktr.ee/MyCreativeScrapbook. They put together 4 different kits each month so there is something for every scrapbooker.

August My Creative Scrapbook Kit - Maggie Holmes Round Trip

 Hello everyone!

I wanted to post my layouts and YouTube videos with the My Creative Scrapbook August Main kit before my life gets crazy with the arrival of my first grandson. This amazing kit featured the beautiful Maggie Holmes Round Trip collection. Each kit comes with cut files you can download.

1. Every Day Is an Adventure With You

When I saw this rainbow paper I had to create a layout with it as my background and give a try at paper rolling the ends of the rainbow up. I used one of the PearTree cut files included with the kit subscription. Added a cute selfie with my adorable dog Princeton and a few embellishments.

You can catch my YouTube video here ...

2. Weekend Away - This map paper was another favorite. I used a PearTree Cut file (Weekend Away) for my title that was included with the kit subscription. Our Fourth of July trip to Grand Marais was amazing and I had some great photos of the bay and Lake Superior (and of course, The World's Best Donuts). A donut shop with a line ... all day long! They were delicious!!

3. Biergarten - My third layout used the sketch from Laura Whitaker for My Creative Scrapbook. I flipped the sketch on it's side to better suite my photos.

This fun layout uses strips of paper for the background. Since there are a few pretzel embellishments, I felt I needed to scrap a German layout, lol. Catch my YouTube process video here ...

4. Paris Sights and Food - I had a few odd photos left from our Paris trip and decided to combine them on this layout. The kit included this awesome BoBunny stamp set with the fun Let's Go On An Adventure repeated in a circle. I decided to create my clusters around them.

My Creative Scrapbook has Four different kits they put together each month. Again, I used the Main kit. Please go check out the other kits. They really have something for everyone.

I'll be sharing my September layouts soon (and pics of the new grandbaby). Stay tuned!

Fish & Chips - PageMaps

 Hey everyone!

Have you seen the new sketches over at PageMaps for March? They are fabulous for jump starting a layout. Here is the sketch I chose.

I stuck to the sketch pretty close, but I moved my journaling and added a 3rd photo in place of it. I decided to scrap photos from my trip to London with my daughter. After touring London Bridge, we found a pub tucked under the bridge that served the best fish and chips. Of course we had to have a pint of beer to go with it. Such a great experience!

Since fish & chips are often served on newspaper (or paper made to look like newspaper now), I had this idea to use newsprint on my layout. The sad thing is after cleaning out my scrapbook room, I couldn't find any so I decided to make my own. This allowed me to add the location and a date in the newspaper headline.

That great cut file is from PearTree Cut files. I used the Basic Grey Serenade collection that I found in my stash while looking for newsprint.

I added some England embellishments from Scrappin Happy Studio (phone booth epoxy flair), Jolee dimensional stickers, and some phrase stickers from Simple Stories.

I love how this turned out. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Happy Adventures - PageMaps

 Happy New Year friends,

I am trying to come to grips with the fact that it is January 2022! But a new month means that there are new sketches to inspire you at PageMaps. I decided to do some stash bashing. Over Thanksgiving break, I started purging my scrapbook papers and came across what was left of my Fancy Pants Designs Dream Big collection. When I saw the open road paper I knew it was perfect for documenting a photo I've been wanting to scrap of my nephew and his girlfriend. About a year and a half ago they decided to hit the road in their 5th wheel camper and travel and work odd jobs when they needed money. They are currently in Washington state where my nephew is working cutting down trees and his girlfriend is teaching yoga classes. Here is my layout ...

and here is the sketch...

I followed the sketch pretty close. Instead of three photos though I used two since I wanted to include this horizontal photo of their camper.

You can catch my YouTube process video here along with the supply list.

At the Beach - My Creative Scrapbook

 Hey blogging friends!

My YouTube channel has been silent too long ... thanks to a scrapbook room renovation (that is done but still not organized yet and I'm thinking may never be). So I videotaped this layout I created for My Creative Scrapbook using the August Main kit featuring the Simple Stories Safe Travels collection. It's a generic collection that allows you to scrap all kinds of vacation memories from beach, to road trip, to campground. The subject of this layout is my daughter and boyfriend from a recent vacation to Tulum Mexico.

The awesome kits from My Creative Scrapbook include awesome cut files from PearTree Cut files. I used a Shell Frame and Find Me At The Beach files here.

All these yummy layers were placed on top of a Vicki Boutin Mixed Media background.

You can catch the process video here ...

Thanks so much for sticking with me through my dryspell.

My Creative Scrapbook July Main Kit - Vicki Boutin Color Study

 Hello blogging friends

I apologize for the lack of content on my blog the past few months. I just can't seem to catch up after a scrap room remodel in March. I am still organizing, purging, and creating in the middle of it all. I hope to have some new YouTube videos up in my channel soon.

Working with the July Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook was an absolute joy! I love Vicki Boutin's color study collection! Here are the four layouts I created with it.

First up is Create Yourself. This paint brush floral cut file is included in the kit subscription and is from Peartree Cut Files

I was so happy to have some paint ephemera die cuts that I could use to embellish this page that features a photo of my kids and I with our Matisse Cats we painted at our local Paint Pub.

I used a pattern paper with stripes of warm reds, pinks, yellows and orange colors  to give the illusion of painting stripes of color. I kept the florals in the same color scheme.

For my second layout I went for a big title. This Sleep Snack Snap Scrap cut file was a freebie from Cut To You for National Scrapbook Day. I seriously love how these colors pop against a black background.

I love how this cut with the ombre blue pattern paper. Rather than back my cut file, I used foam tape to pop up the letters and give it some dimension. Then I tucked some fussy cut flowers underneath.

And look! Here is another picture of me at a crop a few years ago before glasses and before I went grey, lol.

My third layout features my husband and I at a sunflower field last summer. I kept looking for the right paper collection to scrap this photo. The bright yellows were perfect!

This layout is based on a sketch from Laura Whitaker. All those layers are so yummy!

And my final layout ... Yet another picture of me! This never happens people. You know I almost always scrap my kids. They lead much more exciting lives, lol.

I went on a European vacation with my eldest daughter in 2018 before the pandemic. I am so glad that I got to spend some special time with her. Paris was a magical place and we cannot wait to return. This cut file is included in the kit subscription and also from Peartree Cut files. I backed the cut file with the color wheel pattern paper and added a few scattered hearts myself. I even took the time to stitch this keeping the rainbow theme going. Thankfully the black cardstock hides the blood from needle pricks of my fingers.

Thanks so much for stopping by. If you are interested in subscribing to  My Creative Scrapbook to receive their kits each month you will not be disappointed! They actually have 4 different kits, so there is something for every kind of scrapbooker.

Adventure - PageMaps

 Hello blogging friends!

February is getting away from me ... I haven't posted my PageMaps sketch and layout yet. I chose a simple sketch and stuck to it very closely, just adding lots of fussy cut flowers to help embellish it. I used the beautiful Vicki Boutin Storyteller collection and mixed in a few Wild Honey embellishments from a past Vicki Boutin collection.

Here is the sketch I used.

While Storyteller isn't a travel collection, this background pattern paper reminded me of Paris. Since I miss traveling and can't wait to go on a new adventure I decided to dig out some photos I hadn't scrapped yet from my Europe 2018 trip with my daughter.

I love a gorgeous floral pattern paper that I can fussy cut! I even fussy cut the bird out from another Storyteller pattern paper.

Please check out my YouTube process video to learn more about it.
