You Are Loved - September PageMaps

Hello blogging friends!

Can you believe it's October already ... and I missed posting my September PageMaps layout! I love the instant inspiration I get when looking at Becky's sketches. This month I decided I needed to scrap some photos of my son and his girlfriend's maternity photo shoot. I have so many photos! When scrapping lots of photos, I love using 2 page layouts... you can get more photos scrapped on the 2 page spread. Here is the awesome sketch Becky sent me...

Because the photo shoot was outside, I used the Vicki Boutin Fernwood collection along with some Wildflower and Honey. The canvas flair is from Scrappin Happy Studio.

Checkout my YouTube process video for all the details ...

Go check out all of the other sketches this month. They are fabulous!

December Daily Memorydex Prep

Hello blogging friends!

I wanted to try something different this year to document my December memories. A Memorydex spinner would enable me to add multiple cards to document a day if needed, or just one for days when not so much is happening. I can add photo cards, journaling cards, or just cards with paper and embellishments. It's totally flexible. Scrapbook.com has these exclusive pretty blush Heidi Swapp Memorydex spinners and they are on sale now!

Even better, there are coordinating dies and a punch so you can turn photos, papers, die cut ephemera into memorydex cards easily. I've been prepping by getting a few cards ready in advance. I'm using the Crate Paper Hey Santa collection, coordinating cardstock, as well as some other paper and embellishments in my stash.

Of course, I sneak cut files in whenever I can. I love adding filler cards that you can see through. I made these snow globe cards with a Jillibean Soup cut file, transparency paper, and sequins.

Please check out my YouTube video to see how I put these together.

I'll share more cards soon.

Fall Is My Favorite Color - My Creative Scrapbook

 Hello blogging friends,

Have you seen the November kits from My Creative Scrapbook yet? I was lucky to get to play with the Main kit again this month. This awesome kit features the Pebbles The Avenues collection as well as some Simple Stories Cozy Days, a stamp and stencil set from Hampton Art, and fabulous cut files from PearTree Cut Files. I could not wait to create with it. Here is my first layout ...

This is a layout of my daughter with her rescue dog. Unfortunately, Sue was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer and crossed the rainbow bridge recently. She was such a great dog!

I wanted to use the My Favorite Color Is Fall PearTree Cut File for this layout and cut it from the woodgrain pattern paper. I backed only the letters of this cut file and then cut portions of it again in black so favorite and is would pop more. See YouTube tutorial linked below for instructions on how to separate out parts of a cut file to cut just the letters in Silhouette Studio.

I used a variety of spray mists to create my background and then using a stencil I applied Therm-O-Web Transfer Gel Duo to select spots. When dry, I placed gold foil over the top and ran it trough my Heidi Swapp Minc. The result was this gorgeousness!

I embellished with foam stickers from the Simple Stories Cozy Days.

You have got to watch my process video to see how easy it is to add foil to a layout!

I have a second YouTube tutorial that I created at the request of some of my subscribers, How I cut just the inside pieces of a cut file. I have a Silhouette Cameo. I hope this helps you understand so you can do so too.

Island Escape - My Creative Scrapbook

Hello blogging friends,

I am sharing my first layout with the June Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook with you today. This was such an awesome kit!! I had so much fun creating my layouts this month and can't wait to share them all with you. I went tropical for this one, using some photos from a Hawaiin vacation from about 5 years ago...

I fussy cut a lot of flowers from a floral pattern paper in the collection to tuck behind my photos. I supplemented with die cut ephemera pieces as well, like these stems. A chipboard butterfly adds dimension.

The Creative Embellishment chipboard words can be altered with paint and ink. To complete my title, I added some small puffy stickers from PinkFresh Studios that I had in my stash.

I love these premade mixed media sheets from Vicki Boutin. No mess and quick and easy for people like me who don't always have time to create my own backgrounds.

I love these stamp ephemera pieces. You can cut them apart to use just one, or keep them intact.

Polaroid photos make an awesome journal spot in the upper right.

Do check out my YouTube process video to see how this layout came together...

Love - Clique Kits

Hello blogging friends!

I am so excited to share a second layout as a guest designer for Clique Kits. They are known for featuring artists in their kits from all over the world. In the February Base kit called Wonderful World, a German artist Alexandra Renke is featured. It's also full of Vicki Boutin, Heidi Swapp, and some other unique pieces. For my second layout I wanted to do something completely different from my first layout Let's Go Explore and I wanted to use some of Alendra Renkin's beautiful papers. You guys, these papers are so pretty, I could not bring myself to cut them. I decided to use one of the papers as a background for this layout.

I created a sketch as well. Clique Kits is giving away store credit if you create a project based on my sketch. You can share your project in the Clique Facebook group.

I used a cut file in the Clique store and cut it from an ombre pink pattern paper from the Heidi Swapp Storyline collection. I placed it on the far right side of my layout, extending it over the edge. Then I added some fussy cut flowers a die cut ephemera butterfly and a title. The title was not from the kit, but from my stash. It's from PinkFresh Studios Joyful Day collection.

On the left side of my layout I placed this adorable photo of my neice and her boyfriend. I tucked in more fussy cut flowers along with die cut ephemera pieces and a gorgeous wood veneer butterfly that you can find in the kit.

Take a look at this cluster up close... Gorgeous!

Check out the other kits available in the Clique Kits store. You do not need to be a subscriber to purchase them from the store. You will love how unique they are!

Let's Go Explore! - Clique Kits

Hello blogging friends!

I am so excited to be a passport guest designer for Clique Kits. If you've been a follower of mine for a while you might remember that I designed for Clique Kits for 2 years when they first started out. They are known for featuring artists in their kits from all over the world. They have a knack for finding unique embellishments to pull a kit together beautifully. I received the February Base kit called Wonderful World. It's full of Vicki Boutin, Heidi Swapp, and gorgeous papers from a German artist Alexandra Renke. You can see a kit unboxing here...

I couldn't wait to dig in! I pulled out some vacation photos and decided on one of my daughter on a hiking trip to Zion National Park in Utah. The Clique store also has digital cut files you can download. This cut file was FREE and is perfect with this kit!

These wood veneer butterflies from the kit are so pretty! The background paper is one from Heidi Swapp ArtWalk.

I used the Pretty Little Studios alphas for my subtitle the Narrows placing it on top of a journal spot cut out from the Heidi Swapp Storyline collection. The Vicki Boutin Let's Wander ephemera die cuts are perfect for travel pages. I found an Explore sticker on the Heidi Swapp sticker sheet to layer here too. I wanted more contrast and color for the Zion portion of my subtitle. These alphas have been in my stash a long time. I also added an expoxy flair from Scrappin Happy Studio. These flair are pure epoxy so they won't rust like tin pins.

Here is a closer look at my cut file title. I created a shadow effect by layering kraft cardstock on top of a darker green cardstock, offsetting it slightly. Some ink on the edges gives it more dimension as well. I layered more Vicki Boutin ephemera pieces here and another Heidi Swapp phrase sticker; Good For The Soul.

Want to see how this layout came together, check out my process video ...

Thanks so much for stopping by! Check out the Clique store for more than just kits. They also carry other fabulous scrapping supplies!

Hello Autumn - Pebbles

Hello blogging friends!

I am here today with some inspiration on how you can use your scraps to create a layout. This layout was completely created with scraps from the Pebbles This is Family collection by Jen Hadfield. I love the mix of colors in this collection and thought it would be beautiful to use my scraps to back an Autumn cut file.

I found this cute fox and Autumn title in the Handipaper Etsy store. It did take me a while to back these two cut files but it was so worth it. There are a few tricks you can use to make it a little easier. I was able to separate out the letters from the cut file (try Ungroup or Release Compound Path in Silhouette Studio). This allowed me to use the offset feature and cut them from pattern papers slightly bigger than the openings. Autumn is a colorful season so I wanted to include lots of different colors and patterns to back my cut files... scraps are perfect!

It is difficult to see just how pretty that foiled Hello ephemera piece is. The rose gold foil is perfect for fall. I love the transparent ephemera pieces as well. A few fussy cut leaves look great on my mixed media background. I used one of the tags from the tag pad to journal on and tucked it behind my photo. I often hide my journaling using these tags.

Does this layout have you craving all things fall; cozy sweaters, cute scarfs and boots, pumpkin spice lattes, apples, and beautiful colorful leaves. I sure am. Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you try this technique with some of your scraps too.

Shelling - Pebbles

Hello blogging friends!

This week the theme we were given for inspiration on the Pebbles blog was 'Poolside'. I figured ocean waves fit just as well and I could knock out a layout from a family vacation in beautiful Myrtle Beach South Carolina. We had lots of fun searching for unique shells and found a few sea creatures as well. The fun Pebbles Oh Summertime collection was perfect to document our beach adventures.

I wanted to showcase all the washi tape from the collection on my layout. On a piece of 8.5 x 11 cardstock, I layered washi tape all down one side. This was then mounted on a 12 x 12 piece of pattern paper. Don't you love those fish scales? or maybe I should say mermaid scales.

I arranged multiple photos over the washi tape using foam adhesive to add some dimension. I can't resist adding a bit of sunshine on my summer layouts to set the mood, so here I added a die cut sun. I love the all the fun water elements in this collection too, like this mermaid, jelly fish, and seaweed.

I created an eye-catching big title and backed it with a striped pattern paper that coordinated so well with my background paper.

And did you know Pebbles has a monthly sketch challenge? I played along and created this card using the Oh Summertime collection. Check out the Pebbles blog for the details.

Are you ready for summer yet? I sure am!

The Mountains Called - Pebbles

Hello blogging friends!

Did you know Pebbles does a monthly challenge? This month it is based on an awesome sketch.

My daughter recently went on a hiking trip to Zion National Park in Utah and got some beautiful shots from the top of the mountains there. I immediately thought mountain when I saw that triangle in the sketch. I used the Chasing Adventures collection by Jen Hadfield.

This beautiful mountain with clouds digital cut file is from the Handipaper Etsy store.

Following the sketch, I did my journaling on a tag from the collection and added a hiker girl.

I added a little color behind my photo and mountain to help with the cloud effect.

The Mountains Called made for the perfect title.

Thanks for stopping by. Be sure to check out the Pebbles blog at the beginning of each month to see what the new challenge is.

Sweetheart - JustNick Studio

Hello blogging friends!

I am back today to share my JustNick Studio LOVE inspiration with you. There are lots of awesome new cut files in the store and I could not wait to use them ... especially this Candy Heart Background. How cute is that! Perfect for scrapping your Valentine's Day pics. My mixed media background sets those hearts off nicely.

I love creating layers of papers and embellishments on my layouts. I actually used 5 cut files here! Here is a closer look at those fabulous hearts. Can you see the other cut files?

I placed one of the Dainty Doilies behind my photo. Isn't it gorgeous! Doilies are so great for layering! They add a nice feminine touch.

Underneath my photo is a border strip of hearts from the Hearts digital cut file. Then, sandwiched between flowers you can see the pretty airy leaves from Stems 5.

In the lower right hand corner I chose the scripty word 'Sweetheart' from the Love List digital cut file for my layout title. This cut file has lots of title options for your Love layouts. You could even mix and match these words with another cut file to create a totally new title option.

Here are the digital cut files I used today...

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I hope you all have an amazing Valentine's Day.
