December Layout Share - My Creative Scrapbook

Hey everyone. I am so excited to share my layouts created with the December Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook. This amazing kit featured the Vicki Boutin Wrapped In Ribbons collection from American Crafts along with some Echo Park Paper stickers and Simple Stories Foam Phrase Stickers. Every month the kit also includes a sketch and digital cut files from the Cut Shoppe. Here's what I created ...

1. Christmas Fun - This layout features the December cut file Christmas Fun designed by The Cut Shoppe. I decided to go big with my title. Watch my process video to see how I created that sparkling starry background.

2. Let's Be Merry - This layout was inspired by the die cut ephemera piece in the Wrapped in Ribbons collection of a kitten in a gift box. My photo has my cat Spook photobombing this shot of my husband and myself. Watch how this stunning wreath with 3D elements came about.

3.  Oh What Fun - I needed to document some photos from our recent trip to visit our daughter in Colorado. This layout was based on the monthly sketch by Laura Whitaker.

and the sketch ...

I added some snowflake canvas flair from Scrappin' Happy Studio. These were not included in the kit.

4. Hello Holidays - It was the perfect title to document the start of Christmas baking.

Be sure to check out the special Holiday kits for sale in the shop now!

My Creative Scrapbook puts together 4 kits every month. I used the Main kit for these layouts. Each kit is put together beautifully. There is really something for every kind of scrapbooker! Go check them all out.

November Layout Share - My Creative Scrapbook

Hey everyone. I am so excited to share my layouts created with the November Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook. This amazing kit featured the Santa's Village collection from Simple Stories along with some Echo Park Paper chipboard, stickers and die cut ephemera. Every month the kit also includes a sketch and digital cut files from the Cut Shoppe. Here's what I created ...

1. Christmas Spirit - This layout was created with the monthly sketch by Laura Whitaker.

The circles on the background had me wanting to try to create my own mixed media background, very much like the 49th & Market Painted Foundations background. My YouTube video will show you how to create one too...

2. Home For The Holidays - Since I was on a mixed media background roll, I decided to make another using the Simple Stories stencil that was included in the kit. I also used the Gingerbread House and Home For The Holidays cut files from The Cut Shoppe that are included in your kit subscription.

3.  North Pole - I had to scrap a photo of my grandson visiting Santa for the first time.

4.  Merry Christmas features our dogs enjoying their Christmas presents. I don't think Allie approves of her naughty scarf.

October Layout Share - My Creative Scrapbook

Hey everyone. I am so excited to share my layouts created with the October Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook. This amazing kit featured the Cider & Donuts collection from Simple Stories along with some Echo Park Paper Chipboard. Every month the kit also includes a sketch and digital cut files from the Cut Shoppe. Here's what I created ...

1. Happy Fall Y'All - You have to put some fall leaves on a Fall layout, right? I used some old Cheery Lynn leaf dies to create these leaves from various pattern papers and then I arranged them in a wreath. This background paper is from 49th & Market and is  not included in the kit.

Watch my YouTube process video here...

2. Give Thanks - Photos that express gratitude are perfect for scrapping with the Cider & Donuts collection no matter what time of year they were taken. These are photos of my son and his fiancé after the purchase of their first house!! This layout is based on the monthly sketch by Laura Whitaker

3.  Gather Together - We managed to fry a turkey for Thanksgiving last year and didn't burn the house down! Here is the proof. Our turkey was so delicious! I had extra leaves from my first layout so I decided to use them on this layout creating a border. I think I will turn this into a two-pager by flipping the colors around on the new page (give thanks pattern paper, floral-leaf pattern paper, then solid green pattern paper).

4. Autumn - This layout is all about my love for pumpkin spice coffee.

June Layout Share - My Creative Scrapbook

  Hello friends.

The fabulous My Creative Scrapbook June Main Kit features the Simple Stories Pack Your Bags collection along with some Vicki Boutin Where To Next pattern papers and an Echo Park Paper sticker sheet. With it's bright colors, I was inspired to scrap photos from my trip to New York City trip last fall. I added some epoxy flair from Scrappin Happy Studio to help set the scene.

1. Explore The Big Apple - I wanted to create a nighttime skyline for my first layout using some Tattered Angels spray mist.

You can watch the YouTube process video here...

2. Ready For An Adventure - When you visit the Empire State Building with zero visibility you have to buy the photos they take because you don't have any photos except of clouds. I especially liked the King Kong photo it worked well with the viewmaster cut file and the planes.

You can watch the YouTube process video here...

3. Where To Next - I fussy cut a lot of the automobiles, buses, and taxis from one of the Simple Stories pattern papers. I wanted to convey the busy New York City Streets with some of my street photos. The negative strip cut file is one I created myself. The background paper is a 49 & Market Spectrum Sorbet Painted Foundation and is from my stash.

4. Time For A Vacation - For my last layout I used the monthly sketch for inspiration. When we visited the Statue of Liberty I bought these foam crowns from the gift store before boarding the ferry back. They made for some of my favorite pics! I even saved my ticket and added it to this layout.

February Layout Share - My Creative Scrapbook

 Hello friends.

The My Creative Scrapbook February Main Kit featured the Simple Stories Winter Wonder collection as well as some Echo Park Paper papers from Winterland and Chipboard frames from Echo Park Paper Winter collection.  Even though these were Winter collections, there were some floral, plaid, and gingham pattern papers so the kit was versatile enough for more than just your cold weather photos. Let me show you what I made.

1. Snow Much Fun - The Snow Much Fun cut file is included in your kit subscription and is from PearTree Cut Files. I cut the title large, inked and stitched it and placed it on a stenciled background. You can hear all about my process on my YouTube process video here...

2.  Oh So Cold - I used the monthly sketch by Rebecca Moore as the starting point for the design of this layout. I moved up the two side banners otherwise they would have been mostly covered up with my embellishments.

3. She Said Yes! - I took advantage of the plaid and floral pattern papers to do a non winter layout of my son's engagement. We are delighted for them. This layout is based on the monthly sketch by Laura Whitaker. I substituted a heart cut file from a past kit in place of the circle on the sketch. The heart worked better for my photos.

4. This Smile - I adore this photo of my niece. Her mom would not dress her in any pink, so I thought the green florals and gingham would be perfect for scrapping this photo. The adorable bunny and more floras from the ephemera die pack worked well on this layout.

Holiday Cards - Lori Whitlock

Hello everyone! Marcia here today. I have some holiday cards to share with you today. No, it’s not too late to make and send holiday cards! New Year is a holiday so for me, it’s ok to send a card after Christmas. I love to send holiday cards to friends and family as well as receive them. I especially love a box card that can sit on a tabletop or counter and doubles as home decor. This Hexagon Pop-Up Christmas Tree Booth With Reindeer Card (SVGSilhouette)  and the Hexagon Pop-Up Santa's Workshop Card (SVGSilhouettecut files can be found in Lori’s Store along with many other varieties of holiday cards. I used the new Echo Park Paper Have A Holly Jolly Christmas collection.

Stop by the Lori Whitlock YouTube channel for  tutorial instructions on how to assemble the hexagon pop-up cards. Don’t worry about how you will mail it, because these awesome cards fold flat for mailing.

Santa Lighted Shadowbox Decor - Lori Whitlock Tutorial

 Hello friends.

I am sharing a tutorial on the blog today for the new Holiday Lighted Shadowbox Decor pieces. You can purchase a bundle Here that includes a Turkey, Santa, Reindeer, Elf, Snowman, and Nativity Scene. I made the Santa (SVG, Silhouette) and boy is he spectacular!

These are pretty easy to assemble. Let me show you how.

1. Cut out all the pieces from desired pattern paper or cardstock. Be sure to scroll in Silhouette Studio to see all the pieces. There are 4 inserts, side panels, and the decorated front and back. We are going to assemble the side and back first Adhere your pattern paper panels to the cardstock back and sides.

2. Glue one side panel in place, adhering it to the tab with the four slits and then each tab working your way around to the other tab with four slits on the opposite side
.

3. Let's assemble the front panel. We are going to start with Santa's face. The white paper goes behind the black. That goes behind the flesh colored face. Last, attach his eyebrows over each eye.

4. Adhere the black belt pieces on each side and the bottom of the beard. This allows you to fit the face piece in just so tucked under the mustache. Once the face is in there, go ahead and adhere the hat brim down along with the white pompom. Lastly, add the mustache.

5. We are ready to assemble the inside of the shadowbox. Take the back panel with the moon and start and slide the tabs through the slit in the back on each side. You want the hole in the back piece to be on the bottom.

6. Repeat with the other inserts.

7. Once the inserts are in place we can adhere the final side in place the same as the other side.

8. Adhere the front Santa panel to the front of the shadowbox. I did this a few tabs at a time. Then your Santa is ready for some lights or if you prefer you can leave it as is.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Be sure to check out all of Lori's latest designs in her shop.
