Fish & Chips - PageMaps

 Hey everyone!

Have you seen the new sketches over at PageMaps for March? They are fabulous for jump starting a layout. Here is the sketch I chose.

I stuck to the sketch pretty close, but I moved my journaling and added a 3rd photo in place of it. I decided to scrap photos from my trip to London with my daughter. After touring London Bridge, we found a pub tucked under the bridge that served the best fish and chips. Of course we had to have a pint of beer to go with it. Such a great experience!

Since fish & chips are often served on newspaper (or paper made to look like newspaper now), I had this idea to use newsprint on my layout. The sad thing is after cleaning out my scrapbook room, I couldn't find any so I decided to make my own. This allowed me to add the location and a date in the newspaper headline.

That great cut file is from PearTree Cut files. I used the Basic Grey Serenade collection that I found in my stash while looking for newsprint.

I added some England embellishments from Scrappin Happy Studio (phone booth epoxy flair), Jolee dimensional stickers, and some phrase stickers from Simple Stories.

I love how this turned out. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Oh Summertime Travel Journal - Pebbles

Hello blogging friends!

I'm back today with a tutorial on how to create your own travel journal. This could be used to document your summer vacation adventures or to send with a child to summer camp. I decorated this one with the Oh Summertime collection.

Here is a peek at the inside pages... There is a side pocket that can be used to hold sticker sheets or ephemera pieces. You could even store postcards and stamps to send to friends and family when you are traveling.

There are 3 gusseted pocket pages that follow. You could store photos, postcards, or other memorabilia inside.

In the back I have added a notebook. I covered this one with pattern paper to pretty it up.

I have put together a YouTube tutorial complete with measurements. It is fairly easy to put together. I hope you have a look.

Supplies:
734097 Oh Summertime 12×12 Paper Pad
734094 Oh Summertime Ephemera
734086 Oh Summertime Cardstock Stickers
Sticky Thumb .25" Double Sided Adhesive

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have an awesome weekend!

Chasing Adventures Travel Journal for Pebbles

Hello blogging friends!

Is anyone planning a Spring Break vacation in April? Take a look at my Pebbles Chasing Adventures travel journal. It is perfect to take along on your trip to record your memories and store mementos, maps, postcards, photos and more.

The journal is crafted from a kraft cardstock and then decorated with the fun Chasing Adventures pattern papers. I glued two pieces of kraft cardstock together to make the folio stronger. To give it a vintage feel, I burnished the edges with some distress ink. An elastic band secures the binder shut. Let me show you the inside ...

The front cover has a side pocket to tuck stickers and die cuts that can be used to decorate journal pages while traveling.

There are 3 pages inside. Each side of a page has a gusseted pocket to hold travel momentos, maps, postcards, and more.

Here are the other inside pages...

In the back of the journal I have added a notepad, covered with pretty pattern paper. Here you can journal about your daily adventures and add photos.

If you have an upcoming vacation, you might want to make a travel journal for yourself. Be sure to check out the Chasing Adventures collection to help you document your trip. I love that it has pattern papers and die cuts for whatever kind of adventure you desire from city vacations to mountain hiking to tropical relaxation.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
