August My Creative Scrapbook Kit - Maggie Holmes Round Trip

 Hello everyone!

I wanted to post my layouts and YouTube videos with the My Creative Scrapbook August Main kit before my life gets crazy with the arrival of my first grandson. This amazing kit featured the beautiful Maggie Holmes Round Trip collection. Each kit comes with cut files you can download.

1. Every Day Is an Adventure With You

When I saw this rainbow paper I had to create a layout with it as my background and give a try at paper rolling the ends of the rainbow up. I used one of the PearTree cut files included with the kit subscription. Added a cute selfie with my adorable dog Princeton and a few embellishments.

You can catch my YouTube video here ...

2. Weekend Away - This map paper was another favorite. I used a PearTree Cut file (Weekend Away) for my title that was included with the kit subscription. Our Fourth of July trip to Grand Marais was amazing and I had some great photos of the bay and Lake Superior (and of course, The World's Best Donuts). A donut shop with a line ... all day long! They were delicious!!

3. Biergarten - My third layout used the sketch from Laura Whitaker for My Creative Scrapbook. I flipped the sketch on it's side to better suite my photos.

This fun layout uses strips of paper for the background. Since there are a few pretzel embellishments, I felt I needed to scrap a German layout, lol. Catch my YouTube process video here ...

4. Paris Sights and Food - I had a few odd photos left from our Paris trip and decided to combine them on this layout. The kit included this awesome BoBunny stamp set with the fun Let's Go On An Adventure repeated in a circle. I decided to create my clusters around them.

My Creative Scrapbook has Four different kits they put together each month. Again, I used the Main kit. Please go check out the other kits. They really have something for everyone.

I'll be sharing my September layouts soon (and pics of the new grandbaby). Stay tuned!

USS Missouri - Pebbles

Hello blogging friends.

Today I am kicking off patriotic week at Pebbles. I pulled lots of red, white, and blue pattern papers from the Oh Summertime, Chasing Adventures, and Big Top Dreams collections and created a layout about a visit to the USS Missouri battleship in Pearl Harbor Hawaii. Because I had little in the way of patriotic embellishments, I wanted to make the pattern papers work for me by using a digital cut file I designed myself and creating a fun banner with the Jen Hadfield Banner Punch Board.

That dark blue pattern paper makes a bold statement as my background with the die cut stars don't you think. To add dimension, I created a festive banner with my Banner Punch Board. I machine stitched these triangles together. I made it a little easier to work with the banner.

Other embellishments were kept to a minimum. The ship in a bottle from the Chasing Adventures collection was the perfect touch, layered on top of a tag.

I used some older Thickers I had in my stash for my title and added a few journaling strips below my banner.

If you are interested in watching my process while creating this layout, check out my YouTube scrapbook process video.

There is a lot you can do with just your pattern papers and the right tools! Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Ahhh... The Princess Life - Simple Stories

Hello blogging friends!

I am back today with an adorable layout that I created with the new Simple Stories Little Princess collection. This collection is so cute!!!! It's perfect for those little girl layouts, but versatile enough with lots of pattern papers that could do double duty on birthday layouts and more. My two girls loved to dress-up when they were little and pretend that they were fairy princesses. On my layout today, I am scrapping one of the dress-up photos I have of my daughter, complete with ballerina tutu, magic wand, and baggy tights, lol.  I wanted to create a fairy tale scene for my background so I decided to create some fluffy clouds using a stencil and blue distress ink. It was the perfect backdrop for a dragon protecting a castle, a beautiful princess, a magical swan, and royal banners.

I used die cuts from the Tags & Frames pack to create a grid based layout. I embellished each frame with fun, adorable die cuts from the Bits & Pieces pack as well as chipboard and stickers, creating little make believe scenes within my frames.

Of course my little princess needed a frog prince who desperately needed a kiss to embellish her photo. Check out these cute bow clips too!

The banners were created from lots of different pattern papers. I tried out my new We R Memory Keepers Banner Punch Board. I LOVE this new tool!!!!  The banners were then stitched together with my sewing machine before adhering to my layout with foam dots. I love how bright and colorful they are.

If you have girls, the Little Princess collection is a must. It is perfect for documenting your little girl's adventures in the land of make believe. Thanks so much for stopping by today! Enjoy the rest of your week.

So Very Blessed - JustNick Studios

Hello blogging friends! For those in the USA, I hope you all had an awesome Thanksgiving. Did you know that JustNick is having a Black Friday Sale going on now through Monday at the JustNick Studios online store? Everything is 50% off! That is an amazing sale!! Be sure to check it out and use the coupon code BF2017
Today I have a November gratitude layout to share with you. Sometimes we need to step back and reflect on all the things we are so blessed to have, especially our loved ones. The Card Sentiment 3 digital cut file is great for creating a scrapbook title that says just that. Here is my layout...

I thought it would be fun to use the Cloud Background 2 digital cut file since my nephew seems to have his head in the clouds, lol. I saved the negative space clouds and used one on top of my photo to keep the cloud repetition going...

I felt like I still needed something to the right of my photo to balance out the clouds. I had a stem from the Stems digital cut file that I had previously cut out and it was just what I needed.

I love the mixed fonts in this cut file. They make this scrapbook title look so much more interesting.

Here are the digital cut files I used today...

Here is my process video if you are interested in watching ...

Thanks so much for stopping by. I hope you have a great weekend!

Top 15 of 2015 and a Giveaway!

Hello blogging friends! It's that time of year again where I am reflecting upon my year.... what I loved, what didn't work out so well, so I can make those New Year's Resolutions.

Today, I am participating in a blog hop to showcase the top projects of several very talented designers. Here is the blog hop order so you can be sure not to miss any inspiration.

Blog Hop List 2015

We have pooled our resources to offer one lucky blog hop participate an $80 (US Dollars) gift card to the on-line scrappy store of their choosing. This way my Aussie friends, or Russian friends, (or where ever you are from) can choose an on-line store in their country and not have to pay international shipping. To enter just leave a comment on each blog by 11:59 pm CST on January 3. In addition, I am giving away an Echo Park Teacher's Pet Kit (12 sheets of pattern paper plus 2 sticker sheets). To win, follow my blog and leave a comment telling me which project of mine is your favorite. I will announce the winner on Monday, January 4th. Good luck!

Grab yourself a cup of coffee or tea and enjoy!

Yes, I know this was suppose to be the top 10 projects of 2015, but that is like asking me to pick which of my kids is my favorite. so ... Here are my top 15 projects according to Marcia. Yup, the ones I liked the most, in no particular order ....

1.  I LOVE these photos of my daughter and I (Thank you Amanda Plucker Photography). I used the February Clique Kit featuring the Dear Lizzy Serendipity collection. Those sequin vellum pockets and the splatters of ink make me swoon.

2. If you follow my blog you will have noticed that I had a love affair with box cards this year. This mailbox Valentine I made for Imaginisce with the Baby Mine collection and my Xyron adhesives was published in Scrapbook and Cards Today! I use a cut file from SVGcuts.

3.  My favorites list would not be complete without this Carousel Cupcake Holder! I created this using the Cocoa Vanilla Studios Sugar & Spice collection. I am the luckiest girl to be able to design with this Australian Scrapbook Manufacturer. You may think so too when you reach the end of my favorites list ;) You are going to see lots of Cocoa Vanilla Studios products! This is another SVGcuts file.

4.  The June Clique Kit was one of my favorite kits this past year featuring the Crate Paper Journey collection. It was so hard to choose a favorite layout that I created with this kit to include in my top 15! I used a gold metallic sketch pen in my Silhouette for this one. Lacey, from Clique Kits created that gorgeous background file.

5.  Another Summer favorite was the Pink Paislee Atlas collection. Here I paired it with the On An Adventure JustNick Studios digital cut file. I wish I could say this photo was from my vacation, but sadly, no. My daughter Colette backpacked across Europe this past summer. This was one of her favorite places Hallstatt, Austria.

6.  Xyron and My Favorite Things Teamed up this past summer and I fell in love with these Penguins. I used some older Imaginisce papers from my stash for this and another SVGcuts file. And look.... I colored with my Copics !!! and I LOVED it!!!  Susan Opel even featured my pineapple on the My Favorite Things blog!

7.  Xyron and Top Dog Dies teamed up with Simple Stories this summer too. I was so excited to be able to play with the Summer Vibes collection. I created this layout using some fun JustNick Studios digital cut files....

8.  I really enjoyed the Imaginisce Heartland Farm collection too. I love gardening. I created this layout about starting my blueberry garden ...

9.  I swooned over the Pink Paislee Citrus Bliss collection this summer too. It was featured in the August Clique Kit. I used some JustNick Studios cut files with it here for this layout of my hubby posing with this Jamaican lady. This pic is about 25 years old ... did those pink shorts make you smile?

10.  I love this picture of my girls! I showcased it well, don't you think, using the September Clique Kit featuring the Cocoa Vanilla Studios Hello Lovely collection. I use a silver metallic sketch pen in my Silhouette to create those spirals from the Clique digital cut file.

11.  Life Is Beautiful by Cocoa Vanilla Studios was another fabulous collection. I just love the floral patterns that Zoe includes in her collections. I used some fabulous JustNick Studios cut files on this layout and went crazy stitching in circles.

12.  I scrapped lots of wedding photos this year.... Here is another wedding layout using the November Clique Kit featuring the We R Memory Keepers Wildflower collection. I modified the cut file, welding four of the squares together, and really love the Art Deco feel the layout has....

13.  Another box card from SVGcuts,,,, this time using the gorgeous Cocoa Vanilla Studios Tis The Season collection and my Xyron adhesives.

14.  Here is a layout I created with the same gorgeous collection, Tis The Season. Surprisingly, I used no cut files on this one!

15. I am currently playing with the new Fancy Pants Designs Happy Place collection in my January Clique Kit. I created the positive background with another JustNick Studios cut file, using it as a stencil for applying  some modeling paste. I love how this one turned out... my daughter with her dog.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Do you have a favorite? Let me know which one of my projects you like best for a chance to win that Teacher's Pet prize or that $80 gift card.

Your next stop is the very talented Rebecca Keppel!

The November kit featured the gorgeous We R Memory Keepers Wildflower collection. Of course there were also some CK exclusives; like the digital cut and print files, and the flair. With the touches of gold I thought maybe I could get another wedding layout done. I hope you are not tired of seeing wedding layouts because I am still slowly working my way through them, lol. Here is my layout...

I altered that fabulous cut file from the kit. I figured if one looked so fabulous, welding 4 together would be breathtaking! I love the Art Deco feel it gives my layout. My original intention was to piece different papers behind the cut paper, but the white on white was too stunning. I reiterated the square theme with the pretty Polaroid frames.

I opted not to use the die cut Just Married title I had cut out with my Silhouette. Instead, the Come Away With Me journal card serves as my title. It was perfect for the picture of the bride and the groom escaping away for their honeymoon.

Here is a better look at one of the exclusive Lora Bailora flair.

A few more detailed pics of the pretty ephemera die cuts...

Thanks for stopping by. Treat yourself while you are doing your holiday shopping in the Clique Store. Coupon code Marcia10 will save you 10%.  Your next blog stop is the fabulous  ... Caroli .

Book Club - Clique Kits

Hello blogging friends!

Clique Kits just revealed their November kit Tapestry and it is a beauty! It features the We R Memory Keepers Wildflower collection. One of my favorite papers from the collection is the one with all the houses. It's so perfect for family or neighborhood pics. Having just one sheet of this awesome paper I decided to fussy cut out a couple of houses so that I could use it on a couple different layouts. This photo is a pic of my book club buddies. This was taken a couple years ago when I threw a baby shower for one of our members. I came across the pic when I was gathering photos for another neighbor who is moving away.... all the way to Arkansas! We have been neighbors for 28 years! I am putting a scrapbook together for them so they won't forget us :)  Anyway... here is my layout ...

For me this is a very simple layout.... not much layering or clusters. I used this ledger paper for the background because it was perfect to journal on. I wanted to list some of my favorite books that we have read over the years. I like the neighborhood feel  it has...

I am not big on journaling, but really wanted to document some of the awesome books we have read. Are you interested in my list? I am an avid reader (or I should say listener because I listen to audio books when commuting to and from work. I also listen sometimes when I am scrapping. )  We chose a different book to read every month.... sometimes for very lengthy books we give ourselves longer. We have had some great discussions but really, out monthly gathering is more about connecting with friends, because all of these ladies have become very dear to me. It must be mutual, because even though 2 of these ladies have moved out of the neighborhood, they keep coming back for book club. I think Arkansas will be a little too far to come back though. :(     Some of my least favorites .... I couldn't even force myself to finish these .... Twilight, Fifty Shades of Grey, and Eat, Pray, Love

You still have a week to participate in the October challenge. You do not need to be a subscriber. Our challenge is always anything goes. So you all have no excuse to link up :)  Always a generous prize to be won too.

Thanks for stopping by,
