It's time to hop again this month and see all the amazing Lori Whitlock creations the designer are making.
You should have arrived here from Michelle Starcher's blog for those hopping. Here is the hop order in case you are just arriving here and want to start at the beginning.
I'm trying something a little different for documenting my December memories this year. I'm using a pretty blush Heidi Swapp Memorydex spinner. So I was pretty excited to see that Lori Whitlock had some Memorydex cut files in her shop! I am sharing three cards with you today. These Memorydex Foldover Cards can be found here ( Silhouette / SVG ). What I love about them is that fold! I can add photos / journaling on the inside and decorate the outside of the card. I used the Echo Park A Lumberjack Christmas collection for these. Just keeping it real here ... December has not started off well.
3 wick candles were sold out at Bath and Body but the lights were nice.
For some reason, my Silhouette isn't always making straight cuts anymore. Any advice for what I could try?
The one bight spot in my December so far, I have a new grand fur-baby and I am dying to meet him! My daughter in Colorado lost both of her dogs this past year. I am glad that she will have Teddy to keep her company.
I thought I could get something marked off the Christmas Checklist by putting the tree up. After wasting hours trying to find out why 3 strands wouldn't light I asked hubby to get new fuses. That resulted in a plug being torn off the string trying to get the fuse compartment open! The tree went in the trash instead.
There's a sale happening in the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop! Use code DEC2020 to get 30% off all SVGs, Fonts and Commercial Licenses!
Also ... How about a FREE cut file! No code or minimum required.
Finally, how would you like to win a $20 coupon to Lori's SVG Shop!
I wanted to try something different this year to document my December memories. A Memorydex spinner would enable me to add multiple cards to document a day if needed, or just one for days when not so much is happening. I can add photo cards, journaling cards, or just cards with paper and embellishments. It's totally flexible. Scrapbook.com has these exclusive pretty blush Heidi Swapp Memorydex spinners and they are on sale now!
Even better, there are coordinating dies and a punch so you can turn photos, papers, die cut ephemera into memorydex cards easily. I've been prepping by getting a few cards ready in advance. I'm using the Crate Paper Hey Santa collection, coordinating cardstock, as well as some other paper and embellishments in my stash.
Of course, I sneak cut files in whenever I can. I love adding filler cards that you can see through. I made these snow globe cards with a Jillibean Soup cut file, transparency paper, and sequins.
Please check out my YouTube video to see how I put these together.
Check out my cute little Christmas mini album I created for Pebbles with the Merry Little Christmas collection. I don't do a December Daily, but you could get some ideas for yours here.
My cover features a 3x4 journal card with layered ephemera die cuts and stickers,
I haven't added any photos yet...
I added a couple acetate pages. On this one I adhered the FaLaLa cut file from JustNick Studios. I love being able to see through the acetate to the page behind.
Stars on the back side of the acetate help cover up my glue dots.
This gingerbread border is from a Paige Taylor Evans cut file.
The Pebbles Merry Little Christmas collection has a variety of ephemera die cuts and pattern papers. It's easy to create pages for outdoor winter fun, as well as Christmas pages.
The snowflake cut file is available in the Silhouette store.
Here is my second acetate page. On this one I layered a cut file wreath from JustNick Studios.
On the back cover, I added another JustNick Studios cut file.
This was so much fun to make!
Check out my Youtube video to see this album in more detail.
Marcia here today with a festive December layout I created with the Simple Stories Vintage Christmas collection. I wanted to use this collection, not for Christmas photos, but for one of my daughter's Senior photos. Being from Minnesota where we get lots of snow, it was fun to do a photo shoot of her with a toboggan and a winter hat and scarf. I wanted to show you that even though there are lots of adorable vintage Santas in this collection, it also works to document some everyday December moments. Here is my layout ...
Is there anyone besides me that is crushing on these plaid papers? That red buffalo plaid is the perfect background and really set off the chipboard frames which I adore! I chose two of the smaller single frames and printed my photo to fit inside. In the other frame I used one of the 3x4 journaling cards. These frames are beautiful just the way they are or you can layer up other embellishments on top like I did. A woodgrain banner, stickers, washi tape, and snowflakes tucked underneath add even more layers.
To set off my title Snow Cute, I added a strip of the reindeer pattern paper across the bottom of the page. The die cut letters backed with the black buffalo plaid pattern paper really pop on the lighter background. I substituted a snowflake for the O in the title and layered another reindeer over the top. He is so cute!
I know December is so hectic with Holiday gatherings but try to take a little time to slow down and capture the everyday winter activites too. Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have an awesome weekend.
