Pets Peeking Out - Catherine Pooler

 Hello blogging friends!

I have been playing with an awesome new stamp set and coordinating dies by Catherine Pooler that I received from Scrapbook.com. You all know how much I love my fur babies so I was so excited to create some cards with these new products.

That cute paw print pattern paper is from the Hipster 6x6 paper pad also from Catherine Pooler. The coordinating polaroid frame die and eyeglass dies allow you to have some fun with the products and create card that will make the recipient smile!

I stamped my images using a black dye ink pad and then colored them with Copic markers. I am no expert when it comes to coloring, but these designs are easy for a beginner to practice. The sentiment was embossed in white. By using Kraft cardstock, this card has a msculine feel to it which is just what I wanted. I am sending it to a nephew deployed with his National Guard unit.

Simple Beauty - My Creative Scrapbook

Hello blogging friends!

I am sharing my third layout that I created with the My Creative Scrapbook April Main kit. This gorgeous kit features the My Mind's Eye Gingham Garden collection and Creative Embellishments Chipboard titles. When I first saw this vintage collection I thought it would look lovely with some battenberg lace. I found the perfect cut file to frame my photo at SVGcuts in their Easter Egg Hunt cut file.

I did not want to cover up that beautiful lace, so I did not layer pattern papers on top, just added some die cut ephemera pieces and chipboard.

I used another Creative Embellishment chipboard word title, painting this one with black acrylic paint. Watch my YouTube process video at the end to see how to add glitter embossing powder to the lower half. The gold glitter matches the alpha stickers that came with the kit.

It is a very feminine. I think this cut file (and pattern papers for that matter) would be perfect to use to scrap wedding photos. I opted to scrap a senior high school photo of my daughter.

Take a look at my YouTube process video to learn how to add glitter embossing powder to your chipboard pieces.

This kit is so beautiful to work with! Thanks so much for stopping by.

Vintage Truck Holiday Gift - Jillibean Soup

Hello blogging friends!

My husband is restoring an old truck...  ok, so maybe not so much restoring right now as the truck is in pieces in our garage! I hope the restoration will start soon. Anyway, when I say this Vintage Truck svg from SVGcuts, I knew I had to make it. The old guy's birthday is coming up after all. But I discovered that a small loaf of banana or pumpkin bread fits in the truck bed perfectly and I thought it would also make a really cool hostess gift. I guess I'll need to make a few more of these.

I used a Jillibean Soup digital cut file available in the Silhouette Store and printed it on vellum for my truck's door signs. Jillibean Soup has lots of cut files you could choose from. I opted for the dairy sign as my father grew up on a dairy farm, but there are pigs, chickens, cow, flower signs as well.

Of course you want a hostess gift to look pretty too so I added a Jillibean Soup shaker tag and huge bow to the bread bag. Here too I used another Jillibean Soup digital cut file and printed it right on the tag. It looks like I stamped it! I filled the shaker with two shades of blue beads. I didn't want to cover up the words though.

I love how this turned out. It even has headlights and taillights!. Be sure to check out SVGcuts because their 3D cut files will astound you.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Holiday Cards - JustNick Studios

Hello blogging friends!

Do you make holiday cards to send at this time of the year? I try really hard to make cards and get them all mailed out. Some years I do better than others. I can't seem to force myself to make any though until after Thanksgiving. I am in full Christmas cardmaking mode now though, lol. I love using JustNick Studio digital cut files on my cards just like I do my layouts. On my first card I added a pretty Layered Poinsettia along with some Stems 2. I love the dimension the layered poinsettia adds.

For my second card I used the Holly Ring digital cut file to frame my sentiment.

Here are the cut files I used today...

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great week.

Wild At Heart - JustNick Studios

Hello blogging friends!

One of my favorite destinations for a summer road trip is Grand Marais Minnesota on the shores of Lake Superior. The lake is so big it almost like seeing the ocean. It was a foggy rainy day when we were there, but that just added to it's mystic. When scrapping this favorite photo from the day, I wanted a way to convey the greatness of all that water ... Lake Superior is after all the largest of the Great Lakes. I think the JustNick Studio Wave Background digital cut file does it justice! I used the Wild At Heart collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studios.

I still wanted a skyline on my layout so that I could also convey what a cloudy day it was, so I erased the top portion of the background. That left room for me to include some clouds from the Sunny Days digital cut file.

I carefully added some machine stitching to emphasize the waves on the background. I love the effect. To add interest to these wood veneer words, I embossed the lower half with some fine white embossing powder. The two-tone effect is stunning. Washi Tape on the upper half keeps it from being embossed and it peels away so easily.

Here are the digital cut files I used today ...

Thank you so much for stopping by. Have a great rest of the week.

Jillibean Soup Cards

Hello blogging friends!

I created a Jillibean Soup couple cards I wanted to share with you.

Happy Birthday

I am always in need of Birthday cards and I thought it would be fun to use the red polka dot AlphaBean Stickers for my sentiment and combine them with Love pattern paper from the Bohemian Brew collection. To keep with the monochromatic theme I used a red happy Soup Label, added a red bow, and these red vases with flowers.

Supplies:
Jillibean Soup
Pattern Paper: Bohemian Brew / Love

Other: twine, white cardstock

Glad You Are One Of My Peeps

On my second card, I used the Heart Birdhouse stamps and dies along with pattern papers from the Bowl Of Dreams collection. I stamped the sentiment with a pigment ink and embossed it with a translucent embossing powder. To make the birdhouse look more realistic, I stamped the image onto a woodgrain pattern paper. The bird and butterfly were stamped and embossed as well.

Supplies:
Jillibean Soup
Pattern Paper: Bowl Of Dreams / Aim HighBite Size Bits
Pattern Paper: Soup Staples III / Kraft Triangle
Clear Stamps & Dies: Heart Birdhouse

Other: cardstock, ColorBox pigment ink, Stampendous embossing powder

Thanks for stopping by.

Have A Blast | My Favorite Things

Hello blogging friends,

A quick blog post today.  I created a birthday card for the latest sketch challenge for My Favorite Things. Here is the sketch...

I thought a Space Explorer and an alcohol ink background would let me play with techniques I haven't used in a while and practice my coloring. Here is my card...

Enjoy your weekend!

Bloom & Grow - Stash Bash YouTube Hop

Hello blogging friends!

I have a new Stash Bash layout to share with you today. The March Stash Bash YouTube Hop features ways to use your wood veneer pieces. Each month a group of my scrappy friends pick an item in our stash and we each create a YouTube scrapbook process video using that item. I wanted to put a fresh spin on my wood veneer, adding a little glitz with some gold glitter embossing powder and VersaMark ink. Here is how they turned out...

For my layout today, I am using a variety of Maggie Holmes Crate Paper collections, predominantly Styleboard and this gorgeous Lotus Background digital cut file from JustNick Studios.

Here is how my layout turned out ...

The sculpture in this photograph is a lego dragonfly. I was created by artist Sean Kenney and is part of a traveling display called Nature Connects. There were about 12 different lego sculptures all around the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. We walked from garden to garden to find all of them. Truly Amazing!

Here are some close-ups for you to see..,.

If you are interested in watching the process video, here it is...

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a great week.

World Card Making Day - Cocoa Vanilla Studios

Hello blogging friends!

How many of you have been busy celebrating World Card Making Day? Today, I am sharing a Christmas card with you that I created with the gorgeous Cocoa Vanilla Studios Tis the Season collection. I adore this collection. It's non-traditional colors are so refreshing, but my favorite thing about any Cocoa Vanilla Studios collection is the wide array of embellishments. I used many of them on my card, sequins, stickers, ephemera die cuts, adorable mini bows, enamel dots, and more.

You may think it's too early for Christmas cards, but trust me.... its never too early. A homemade card is like sending someone Love across the miles. The receiver is going to know how special they are, right. I have a fascination with box cards of late, so created a Christmas one. This tree card is from a SVGcuts Christmas Box Card kit.

So many pretty embellishments they need close-ups ... look at that adorable mini bow! Star shaped sequins.... oooh be still my heart!

The Enamel Dots came in real handy for my train wheels...

Here is the back of the card.... stickers and there is room for a personal note.

and the cool thing is, this card folds nearly flat.  It would fold flat but for the foam tape and mini bow :)

Here is how it looks from the top down.

Have I convinced you that you need to buy this collection yet? lol
