Blesssed - My Creative Scrapbook

 Hello blogging friends!

Just me again sharing my last layout with the beautiful November Main Kit from My Creative ScrapbookThis awesome kit features the Pebbles The Avenues collection as well as some Simple Stories Cozy Days, a stamp and stencil set from Hampton Art, and fabulous cut files from PearTree Cut Files.

I intended to use four photos on my last layout with its grid design, but pulled this photo off half way through. I thought I would use that photo on this page along with another cut file from  PearTree Cut Files and turn it into a 2 page layout.

If you missed my previous blog post, this is my daughter Naomi with Tuna our first foster failure on his Gotcha Day. After 13 years of love, Tuna crossed the rainbow bridge last month.

I used the cut file wreath as a base and layered the floral die cut ephemera from The Avenues over the top rather than back the cut file with pattern paper.

I stitched the butterflies together and left the strings hang. The title is a foam sticker from the Simple Stories Cozy Days collection.

Check out how easy this one came together.

Gotcha Day - My Creative Scrapbook

 Hello blogging friends!

Are you ready to see more of my layouts created with the November Main Kit from My Creative ScrapbookThis awesome kit features the beautiful Pebbles The Avenues collection as well as some Simple Stories Cozy Days. I warned you in a previous blog post that The Avenues die cut ephemera contains cats and dogs. Of course that led me to wanting to scrap cats and dogs this month. Sadly, 2020 has been the worst year for the Nix pets. My daughter Colette said goodby to both her dogs this year, we lost a cat to cancer, and my daughter Naomi recently said goodbye to our first foster failure, Tuna.  When he crossed the rainbow bridge I had to dig up his gotcha photos from 13 years ago and I created this ...

I used the November sketch from My Creative scrapbook. You can't go wrong with a grid design.

Such a great sketch!

I grabbed some PinkFresh alphas from my stash to create the title. The wood alphas match the woodgrain patter paper. The Viewmaster heart cut file (layered under the pretty floral ephemera) was found in the Silhouette store.

Where my previous layout was all about the blues. This one is soft with pinks.

Check out my YouTube process video to learn more about my foster failure Tuna and how this layout came together.

Like A Boss - Paper Issues

Hello blogging friends!

I am playing along with the Paper Issues Pinspire Me challenge. Here is the fun mood board for August ...

I was inspired by those bright colors and thought it would be perfect to scrap a recent family paint night. It was the first time my daughter Naomi has ever done one. She wasn't too sure she could paint very well or that she would even enjoy it. She LOVED it!! We painted Matisse's Cat with Red Fish. Here is my layout ...

I printed an 8x10 photo of the Matisse Cat that Naomi painted and cut it into a grid. I wanted to create a tiled pattern for interest. I embellished my layout with the Fancy Pants Designs Dream Big collection. I love the encouraging quotes like this one in the die cut ephemera pack.

You can play along with the Paper Issue challenges in our Facebook group. We welcome everyone. Thanks for stopping by today. Have a great week!

Too Cute To Spook! - Imaginisce

Hello blogging friends,
Even though the new Imaginisce Give Thanks collection is a Fall collection, there is plenty of orange and black to create Halloween projects too. I created a layout using my Silhouette to add some Halloween die cuts. My daughter Colette had dressed up as a black cat, so I wanted to add a black cat to my layout. This one is paper pieced and layered to give it more dimension.

A title of white Thickers was really set off by the black cardstock base.

These Silhouette die cuts really helped give my layout a more Halloween feel.

Clusters of embellishments include some i-Top brads I created. It's so easy to create coordinating embellishements with pattern paper and and i-Top brad daddies.

Supplies:
Imaginisce : Pattern Papers, Phrase Stickers, Wood Buttons, Enamel Dots, Puffy Stickers, Die Cuts (Give Thanks), i-Top, small and medium brad daddies
American Crafts: Cardstock, Thickers
Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great weekend.

Exploring - Imaginisce Inspiration

Hello my blogging friends. I hope you all had an awesome Easter! I had all my college kids home over the weekend, so my house was noisy again :) And you're never too old to color eggs.

I have a couple Imaginisce projects to share. The first is a layout featuring my favorite cat, Spook. Spook was one of my foster kitties that I couldn't bear to part with. Spook and his brother Jinx came to us from the local pound when they were just a few weeks old with respiratory infections. They were so sick. Wouldn't eat or drink anything. The kids and I took turns forcing feeding them chicken broth with an eye dropper. I paced the floors holding them, patting their backs, and listened to them labor to breathe. I thought we were going to lose them. After a couple days though, they seemed to be able to breathe a little better. Pretty soon they were running around and you would never have guessed how sick they were. Jinx went to his furever home but I could bear to give up Spook and he joined our family. Spook still likes to sprawl across my shoulders so I can pat him :)
My back yard is fenced in, so Spook is pretty safe running around outside. He likes to run out when I let the dog out. It is fun to watch him chase bugs, especially the grasshoppers. Here are some close-ups...
The title was cut with my Silhouette. The dragonflies were made with an old Sizzix paddle punch. I like to layer them so it looks like they are flying off the page.
The Imaginisce designers were given this color inspiration to follow...
Supplies:
Imaginisce: Childhood Memories: Patterned Paper, alpha stickers, Sticker Stackers;  Good Dog: Pattern Paper, paw print snag 'em stamp;  Endless Summer: sun snag 'em stamp;  I-Rock tool; Hot Rocks Compact Jewel;
Bazzill cardstock in cream and black; Quick Quotes Powderpuff chalk ink in Baja Blue; Ranger Distress Ink in Vintage Photo and Antique Linen; Tsukineko Staz On ink; Little Yellow Bicycle Wood Naturals; Studio Calico wood veneers; Teresa Collins Now & Then Washi tape; Sixxiz dragonfly paddle punch; Sakura Micron pen; Silhoutte Cameo Die Cut machine.

My second project is a card I made for the April Imaginisce Sketch Challenge. Here is the sketch...
Challenge Rules:
1.  Use pastel colors
2. Theme: SPRING
3.  Use ribbon/twine
This was a tough one. I didn't have much for pastel papers...
I thought I could send this card to one of my girlfriends. Imaginisce always has an awesome prize, so give this challenge a try! You have til the end of April to link up.
Supplies:
Imaginisce: Hello Cupcake: Pattern Paper; Childhood Memories: Pattern Paper; Love You More: Pattern Paper; Hippity Hop: Chipboard Stickers;
Bazzill: cardstock in white and orange; The Twinery: strawberry twine; Epiphany Crafts: flower button tool, buttons; Quick Quotes: Powderpuff ink in Coconut white, Green with Envy,  Pink Cheeks, and Baja Blue; Darice: clouds embossing folder; Silhouette Cameo Die Cut machine

I am linking my projects up at Paper Issues. Their latest issue is clouds, butterflies, rainbow, etc ...

Enjoy your week everyone!
