Have you seen the new PageMaps sketches for December? I love working with Becky's sketches to kick start my mojo.
I've been wanting to scrap my grandson's first Minnesota Twins baseball game for a while now. I even bought the new Carta Bella Home Run collection designed by Steven Duncan.
As you can see the ballpark pretzel was paid more attention to then the game. lol
You can watch my YouTube process video here and hear all the details ...
Becky has another set of amazing PageMaps sketches released for July. Here is the sketch I chose to work with this month.
I recently got my hands on the Doodlebug Pretty Kitty collection and I was dying to use it to scrap some photos of our latest foster fail Allie. Even though this collection is for scrapping your kitties, I wanted the pastel papers to scrap our pretty Allie girl. Can you blame us for foster failing when you see how affectionate she is? It's a good thing she is cute too, because she has tried to eat the house mopboards, stair railings, numerous rugs, and my porch furniture! I varied from the sketch slightly by flipping it and incorporating the title into different strips of pattern papers instead of the single piece as shown in the sketch. Here is my layout ...
There are more sketches to inspire you on the PageMaps website. Thank you so much for stopping by, ~Marcia
Are you ready for more amazing sketches from PageMaps? The June sketches did not disappoint. Here is the sketch I worked with ...
With Memorial Day celebrations and the 4th of July looming, I wanted to do a patriotic layout. I had some awesome photos of when my nephew Max returned from Afghanistan and couldn't wait to scrap them. I stashed bashed big time for this layout. This is an older Pebbles collection called Americana. The Thickers are from the Pebbles America The Beautiful collection.
I love all the layers here. This layout has a photo flip feature I created with my Love My Tapes washi tape. This washi tape has words from the Declaration of Independence so was ideal!
I'm excited to share my layouts with you that I created with the February Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook. This was one of my favorite kits to date. I love Vicki Boutin's collections and you know I love using her mixed media papers for backgrounds. Let me show you the gorgeous layouts I created...
Happiness is a Wedding Celebration
My niece got married last October at a lake resort in Northern Minnesota. It was a gorgeous outdoor ceremony. I used a PageMaps sketch from February to document the occasion on this 2 page layout. Here is the sketch.
I loved all the photos in the sketch. I concentrated on using more family photos in my layout rather than wedding party photos.

Stories Of Us
I wanted to bring out the greens in this photo and found a Vicki Boutin Mixed Media background from the Let's Wander paper pad that was perfect. The butterfly exclusive cut file for My Creative Scrapbook kit subscribers cut from a black cardstock emphasizes the circle pattern going on in the background paper.

I couldn't help but do a camping layout as well. This is one of my son and his girlfriend camping in Colorado. I used the sketch by Laura Whitaker for My Creative Scrapbook. You can't go wrong with a grid design. It made it easy to use the tag pattern paper embellished with die cut ephemera, chipboard, and puffy stickers.
I wanted to be sure to share my January layouts with you that I created with the My Creative Scrapbook January Main kit featuring the Simple Stories Feeling Frosty collection. This was such a fun collection and living in Minnesota means I definitely have photos to scrapbook. A kit subscription includes access to cut files as well. This month the cut files are from PearTree Cut Files. I used one on this ski layout of my daughter.
My niece got engaged and they had photos taken last winter outside in the woods. It made for a really cute layout. I love the colorful foam sticker title.
To see more detailed pics please watch my process video.
My next layout documents our Christmas Tree farm outing. For this layout I used the monthly sketch provided by Laura Whitaker.
Here is my take ... Again I used a colorful foam title and added some ephemera die cuts.
My husband walking thru the snow with his tall Wellies on makes me smile .... doesn't he look like he could be in the movie Grumpy Old Men, lol. (The parts of the movie and sequel were filmed not far from my parents home.)
For more detailed pics check out the process video ...
No snow for my last layout but since this photo of my husband with his family was taken in December I figured the snow theme still fit.
If you are interested in a scrapbook kit subscription this one is a good one. They actually have 4 different kits so there is something for all types of scrapbookers.
I can't believe its already November! That means the new PageMaps sketches are live! Becky's sketches are sure to inspire you to get out some paper and glue again. Here is the sketch I used.
Today I am scrapping a photo of my daughter Colette and her dog Sue. They recently moved to Colorado and love it there. One of their favorite things to do is get out and hike on one of many trails in the mountains. Here they are visiting Eldorado Canyon. I love that big smile on that dog's face!
I used the gorgeous new Crate Paper Marigold collection by Maggie Holmes. The little woodland creatures were perfect to add as embellishments. Here are some close-ups. This deer is so adorable. I wish just the deer was sold in packs, I would use them all the time.
Here you can get a glimpse of the mixed media background I created with spray mist as well as more beautiful embellishments.
Fussy cut flowers add a touch of femininity and softens the look.
I have a new YouTube process video available for this layout. I would love it if you would watch.

One of our favorite summer destinations is Itasca State Park in northern Minnesota. It's a beautiful park with boat and bicycle rentals. We almost always rent a boat for a day and try our luck fishing. We had no luck at all on this outing, but we enjoyed being outside on this gorgeous lake! I decided to use a cut file from an earlier month. The sun on here seemed a must for summer. I added the Simple Stories foam titles on top for my title.
Here is where I deviated just a little from the sketch. The top of my layout felt like it needed a clothesline for this cute swimsuits.
You can see lots of gorgeous layers here. I tucked my journal card underneath my photo.
I played some more with my Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals to create my watercolor background. These powdered pigments are so fun to play around with.
Can you believe its July already? That means it's time for July PageMaps sketches. This month I chose to work with this awesome single 12"x12" sketch with two photos.
Here is the layout I came up with...
When my daughter and I were sightseeing in Paris, we found the best macaron sweet shop just blocks from our hotel. Of course we had to try them. Would you believe it was my first time trying a macaron? It was so hard to decide. There were so many colors and flavors! I wanted my layout to depict that, so I found a macaron cut file in the Silhouette store and made a bunch in delicious bright colors. I also wanted to include Parisian ephemera pieces and found this sticker sheet from scrapbook.com.
The pattern papers are from various Paige Evans Pink Paislee collections; Horizon, Whimsical, and Truly Grateful. The subtle patterns and bright colors add interest.
For my title I combined the "sweet" from PinkFresh Studio's My Favorite Story puffy titles with an Amy Tangerine alphabet Thickers I had in my stash.
That scallop border is a rub on. It adds color that matches my macarons. I love the chipboard coffee cups here under my journaling.
Head on over to check out the other PageMaps sketches this month. There is sure something there to spark your creativity. Thanks so much for stopping by.
Who besides me is sick of winter? I am craving sunshine and carbs (thank you low carb diet!) With no relief in sight, I did the next best thing and scrapped some sunshine and carbs using a new sketch from PageMaps. I used the beautiful Pinkfresh Studio Just a Little Lovely collection.
Here is the awesome sketch I used.
I have new favorite Minnesota State Fair food... fried pickles and mini doughnut beer. (Don't say yuck until you've tried it!) They are yummy!
Check out all of the other PageMaps sketches. They are sure to inspire you to want to create something.
