So sorry I'm late in sharing my September layouts created with the Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook. This pretty kit featured the Jen Hadfield Live and Let Grow collection from American Crafts. My Creative Scrapbook puts together 4 kits each month so there is something for every type of scrapbooker you are.
1. Love Always was the first layout I created. I wanted to scrap more of the photos from my son and his girlfriend's maternity photo shoot. The "Piece of My Heart" cut file which is included in your kit subscription was perfect to frame my photo and is from The Cut Shoppe. I used my Lindy's Magicals to create my background. Check out my YouTube process video to see how it came together.
2. Gone Fishing was the second layout I created. I was so excited to see the fish pattern paper that is part of the Live and Let Grow collection. After all, I live in Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes and then some! We love to go fishing! This is a photo of my sone from years ago. I am using a cut file I purchased from PearTree Cut Files. Check out my YouTube process video to see how I created it. I am also using some epoxy fishing flair from Scrappin Happy Studio .
3. Catch of the Day is another fishing layout with a more recent photo of my son and husband with their humungo northerns. This is another cut file from PearTree Cut Files that I purchased. Here again I used some epoxy fishing flair from Scrappin Happy Studio .
4. I Love You This Much was my final layout, I am scrapping photos of myself and a grand furbaby that belongs to my daughter. I’m documenting the first time I met my daughter’s new rescue dog Teddy. I was preparing to sleep on her couch when Teddy decided I needed company. The look on his face when my daughter told him he couldn’t sleep on top of me was priceless. Poor Teddy. The cut file is from The Cut Shoppe and is included with your kit subscription. I added some @lovemytapes washi tape to my die-cut title and ran it through my Silhouette Cameo a second time.
So here is one of the reasons I am late posting my layouts ... new gransdson Jameson arrived at the end of August.
And the other reason ... We foster failed with our latest rescue dog Allie. She is not quite a year old and so sweet and gentle.
I am going to try something different since I am having a hard time keeping up with my blog posts. Instead of posting one project at a time, I am going to share all of my My Creative Scrapbook October layouts in a single post. At least this way you will get to see more content.
The October Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook featured the gorgeous Peaceful Heart collection by Jen Hadfield for American Crafts. The kit subscription includes amazing cut files from PearTree Cut Files each month. In addition to that, a sketch for the month by Laura Whitaker is sure to inspire you to want to dive right into your kit.
My first layout Chapel On The Rocks was also my PageMaps layout this month. This beautiful church is located in the Rocky Mountains not far from Estes Park. If you are in the area you MUST stop to see this site!
Here is the sketch. Instead of using two smaller photos, I opted to use one large photo to showcase this photo.
The background paper is a mixed media sheet from a Vicki Boutin paper pad. I love how it brings out the colors in the photo.
My second layout features one of the cut files included in the kit subscription, a toadstool wreath. I used it to scrap another engagement photo of my niece. Lindy's Magicals were used to created this background.
You can watch my YouTube Process video here ...
My third layout features another of the October cut files from PearTree Cut files; Pumpkin Spice And All Things Nice. I love my pumpkin spice coffee so this layout has my latest selfie. (and Yes, my hair has turned white over the last few years.)
Here is the link to the YouTube process video ...
Here is my final layout with the kit ... I could have kept on creating though as I have a lot of pattern paper and embellishments remaining. I used the sketch by Laura Whitaker and another engagement photo of my niece.
Here is the sketch ...

I am sharing my first layout with the October Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook today. This gorgeous kit is full of the Crate Paper Fresh Bouquet and Heritage collections. Also included in the kit subscription is access to these awesome cut files from PearTree Cut Files. I gravitate toward big titles always for my first layout with a kit and used one of those cut files to create this...
I am still not sure about my mixed media background. I love that it seems to extend the photo and show off those fall colors. But part of me thinks too messy.
I love how I photoshopped this photo. I added lots of fussy cut flowers on this layout. The Fresh Bouquet ephemera die cuts include transparencies like this quote I stitched onto my photo and how cute is this chipboard sticker bunny. Here is a closer look at the title work.
This truly is one gorgeous kit! Want to see my process as I created this layout ....
One of our favorite summer destinations is Itasca State Park in northern Minnesota. It's a beautiful park with boat and bicycle rentals. We almost always rent a boat for a day and try our luck fishing. We had no luck at all on this outing, but we enjoyed being outside on this gorgeous lake! I decided to use a cut file from an earlier month. The sun on here seemed a must for summer. I added the Simple Stories foam titles on top for my title.
Here is where I deviated just a little from the sketch. The top of my layout felt like it needed a clothesline for this cute swimsuits.
You can see lots of gorgeous layers here. I tucked my journal card underneath my photo.
I played some more with my Lindy's Stamp Gang Magicals to create my watercolor background. These powdered pigments are so fun to play around with.
Hello blogging friends! Today, I am sharing my second layout with the June Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook. I loved this kit so much!! It features the Vicki Boutin Let's Wander collection including a star stencil. That inspired my to play with some of my Magicals powdered pigments from Lindy's Stamp Gang and try out some of Vicki's Creative FX iridescent glaze. My photos really do not do it justice. That iridescent glaze is so pretty.
This nightlife photo of the Friedrichstadt Palast just needed a starry night sky to set it off perfectly. The colorful rays on this pattern paper seem to be radiating from the photo as well. To balance the color, I placed the chipboard city-scape in the opposite corner, layered on top of some other fun travel die cut ephemera pieces.
I used some PinkFresh Studios alphas from the Everyday Musings collection to add Berlin over the buildings.
A camera and a vellum map went in the opposite corner.
This layout has a magical quality to it that makes me remember just how awesome the theatrical production was that we saw here. Vivid Grand, you did not disappoint!
You have got to watch this YouTube process video, just to see how this fabulous background came together .... there is a reason those powdered pigments are called Magicals ...
How are you all holding up? In Minnesota the governor has ordered us to stay at home. I have been working remotely for 3 weeks now. I am lucky that my daughter is doing all my grocery shopping for me now. My son also ran some errands for me before the lockdown started to make sure I had enough cat and dog food and then some to last a couple months. I worry about my elderly parents and aunts and uncles though.
It helps to pass the time inside playing with pretty papers like the My Creative Scrapbook April kit. It is gorgeous!! Check out my kit unboxing here...
Paige Evans shared a FREE Let's Stay Home cut file on her Facebook Happy Scrappy Page and I could not resist using it for my first layout with the kit.
Here is a closer look at the cut file...
The April kit include 11 amazing cut files as well. I used a few of the flower cluster cut files to tuck under my title. I added some fussy cut flowers, chipboard pieces and die cut ephemera.
Lindy's Gang Magicals were used to create my watercolor background. I like how they add some color underneath those cut files.
Here is my sweet guy whom I get to be isolated with. Love him!
Please check out my process video ...
Thanks so much for stopping by. Stay home please and stay safe!
