Sweet Delight - My Creative Scrapbook

Hello blogging friends!

Have you seen the My Creative Scrapbook April kit. It is gorgeous!! It included the My Mind's Eye Gingham Garden collection and Creative Embellishment chipboard titles. Here is my second layout with the kit. It is loosely based on the April sketch. If you would like to play along, post your layout on the Facebook My Creative Scrapbook Inspiration page. I did lots, LOTS! of fussy cutting on this layout.

Here is the sketch.

I am scrapping pics of my daughter with her dog Nana. They love to enjoy summer socializing with friends on the patios of local breweries. I converted the photos to black and white to coordinate better with the color scheme of these beautiful papers.

I painted the Creative Embellishment chipboard title Delight with white acrylic paint and then used my Tattered Rose Distress Ink to color it pink. It looks awesome layered with the Sweet die cut ephemera piece.

Chipboard stickers add dimension. I did a little machine stitching on this center piece of pattern paper.

I love adding twine bows to my layouts. The Love Grows chipboard sticker was perfect for this layout.

Don't these gorgeous flowers just make you swoon!

Urubamba Peru - My Creative Scrapbook

Hello blogging friends!

Have you seen the March Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook? It's full of the Pink Paislee Bloom Street collection and is so beautiful!!! I wanted to pull out some rainy day photos to scrapbook and realized just how few rain photos I have. I live in Minnesota. I have tons of snow photos! I guess I'll need to take more rain photos in the future.

My daughter recently traveled to Peru with World Vets. She spent a week in the Andes Mountains spaying and neutering cats and dogs and vaccinating pets. Would you wait 3-4 hours in the rain just so your pet could be seen by a veteranarian? Well these Peruvians did! and they were so thankful for the volunteers that came to their remote location! I thought I would scrap her rainy day photos to document her trip.

Check out the exclusive cut file I used here, a gorgeous floral cluster on a square frame. I love this photo too. This little girl held this cat for hours in the rain! It's amazing to me that these animals were so content to be held, as if they knew how hard life was for others of their kind living on the streets. There were so many stray dogs and cats wandering everywhere.

I created another rainy mixed media background using some old acrylic paints. The drips made a good backdrop for the white Thickers that came with the kit.

The umbrellas and rainboots were perfect embellishments!

Check out the photo on the right. See those people waiting on the sidewalk... in the rain. That line goes on for a couple blocks!

I hope you'll check out my process video to see how this one came together...

Esme - My Creative Scrapbook

Hello blogging friends!

I made a bunch of layouts with the March My Creative Scrapbook Main kit and can't wait to share with you. This kit featured the Pink Paislee Bloom Street collection and exclusive cut files from Neat and Crafty Cutz. It's a beautiful kit! Here is the first layout I made....

This is my niece Esme, the latest addition to our family! She is the cutest with her big brown eyes! I used one of the exclusive cut files to create a cluster of flowers under my photo. I added more flower ephemera pieces on top.

I added a sticker to the right of my photo that says Showered With Love. That pretty much sums it up, spoilt by everybody.

I love that gorgeous butterfly too. Do you notice my watercolor background? I thought I would try some Lindy's Magicals. So fun to try.

Want to see how it all came together? Check out my YouTube process video here...

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend. If your sick, stay home and scrap!

Made In The USA - JustNick Studios and PageMaps

Hello blogging friends.

All this week JustNick designers have been showcasing layouts using PageMaps sketches created by the wonderful Becky Fleck. Here is the sketch she gave me...

It's awesome, right!

There is a lot going on in the sketch, so I decided to use the left side of the sketch for my background cut file. I recently returned from a vacation in South Carolina and had lots of pictures from Patriots Point, so I opted to do a patriotic layout. It seemed fitting with Memorial Day just this past Monday. My guys really enjoyed visiting the USS Yorktown. I think they could have stayed there for hours.  I stuck pretty close to the PageMaps sketch. I did use a larger focal photo in the middle. Here is my layout...

I used a cut file called Ride the Wave. I resized it to fit on the left half of my layout. It reminds me of the American flag waving in the wind. My intent was to leave it red and white, but then decided to add some blue in the negative space. Some machine stitching reinforces the wave design.

Here is the cut file I used today...

If you are interested in my process video, here it is ...

Thanks so much for stopping by. Be sure to check out the other sketches from this past week and their coordinating layouts.

Champagne Brunch Bridal Shower - Stash Bash YouTube Hop

Hello blogging friends!

Marcia here today with my second Stash Bash YouTube process video in our monthly series. Each month some of my scrappy friends and I choose one element in our stash and create scrapbook layout focusing on that item. This month it was gemstones, enamel dots, sequins ... I went with gemstones. I have been wanting to scrap my daughter's bridal shower pics for a while now. I really debated whether to scrap these photos at all since my daughter is now divorced. But I figured her ex is not in the photos, and it was a really fun day with family and friends. We had a champagne brunch with a Breakfast at Tiffany's theme ... so much fun. We asked guests to come dressed as Audrey Hepburn ... elegant black dresses with pearls and hats. I intend to turn this layout into a 2 pager I think. I used the gorgeous Metropolitan Girl collection from Carta Bella paper

What do you think of that chandelier?  I used my Imaginisce i-rock and rhinestones to add bling. I love the way it turned out.

There is more bling at the bottom ... this gorgeous swirl from Want 2 Scrap.

I adore the vintage feel to this collection. It was perfect for the Breakfast at Tiffany's theme.

I used a silver metallic thread to add some stitching here. I love mixing fonts for my titles.

and my beautiful girl...

Love & Adore - Simple Stories

Hello blogging friends!

I am sharing some fabulous Simple Stories Love & Adore layouts with you today. For this first one, featuring a photo of my niece and her boyfriend, I really wanted to play up the hearts. This awesome cut file is from JustNick Studios. I loved that it had this big "X" in the middle. I thought it was perfect to showcase the Love & Adore washi tape. This heart washi tape is a new favorite of mine. To make the hearts pop even more, I backed portions of the cut file with the beautiful ombre pink pattern paper from the collection.

Here is a closer look at that heart washi tape.

That beautiful chipboard sticker banner anchors my photo. I added a pop of yellow with a chipboard sticker heart and enamel dots.

The chipboard sticker "XOXO" makes a great title layered over some bits and pieces die cuts. You can also see some of those cute phrase stickers here.

I love how this layout came together so easily.

For my second layout, I wanted to scrap this awesome selfie my daughter took where she is giving her dog a smooch. Take a look ...

I concentrated most of my embellishments near the photo. The paper is so beautiful by itself  I did not want to cover it up too much, To frame my photo I used a fun new cut file from JustNick Studios called Ring Around My Heart.

There are lots of gorgeous layers of eye candy here. Check out those phrase stickers I used again on this layout.

I used the chipboard word "Sweet" for my title and the "I Love Your Face" bits and pieces die cut for my subtitle. Perfect! Just look at that dog's face ... lol.

In the upper left is another cluster of embellishments. I love tucking the round stickers from the 4x6 sticker sheets underneath so the text at the top peeks out. The sticker I used here says "KISS".

Here is the process video for Sweet, I Love Your Face.

If you are interested ... here are the JustNick Studio cut files I used.

Pupcake Love - Stash Bash YouTube Challenge

Hello blogging friends!

I am embarking on something new ... in addition to blogging, I am going to be doing a lot more YouTube videos. A group of scrappy friends and I will be posting a series of Stash Bash videos. Each month we will concentrate on using one element we all have in our stash ... This first month we are focusing on stickers. Since it is a Stash Bash, I dug out an older BoBunny collection called Happy Tails because I wanted to scrap these photos of my dog Satchel ... and this collection has so many stickers; border stickers, alpha stickers, chipboard stickers, layered stickers ...   Here is the layout I came up with.

I love how this embellishment cluster turned out. That layered chipboard sticker over the dog house <3 <3 <3

I used a lot of these Studio Calico phrase sticker too from the Baxter collection along with some Bella Blvd yellow enamel shapes.

Alpha stickers combined with bright yellow rain slicker thickers make up my title.

Did you notice the dog, and paw print washi tape? I picked it up at the Scrapbook Expo last summer and just now had a chance to use it.

If you are interested in seeing the process video for this layout here it is ...

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I challenge you to dig out your stickers too and create something fun with them.

Dream Come True & Girl's Night - Simple Stories

Hello blogging friends!

All this week Simple Stories is teaming up with JustNick Studios. Today, I am using some of the JustNick digital cut files with the gorgeous Posh collection. Posh is so pretty with it's gold accents. It definitely has a classy feminine feel to it ... Posh is the perfect description for it. I decided to scrap some girly layouts with it. This first one is of my daughter at her Veterinary School white coat ceremony.

I used the Broken Heart digital cut file from JustNick Studios for the big heart behind my photo and pieced different solid colored pattern papers behind it. To create some texture, I stitched around my heart with a gold metallic thread.

The Broken Heart cut file is similar to the hearts you will find in the Posh collection. Like this sticker heart I place near my journaling.

There is a lot of gold mixed in the bits & pieces die cuts, stickers and chipboard and it really gives this collection a classy look. I used some of the clear stickers over my photo. "You Can Do Anything" was perfect! I couldn't resist using these adorable blue birds in my embellishment clusters along with some of the flower bits and pieces die cuts.

I love these tabs from the Bits & Pieces die cuts and they work so well with the phrase stickers.

The chipboard "dream" makes a dreamy title indeed and I combined it with some of the alpha stickers.

If you are interested, I made a process video for Dream Come True and you can watch it on my Youtube channel here ...

My second layout is a two-pager. I recently went to a paint night with my daughter, sister, and nieces. My first paint night ever! We had so much fun. I wanted to use lots of my photos to document the night. Who knew I could paint?

I used the JustNick Studios Infinity Hearts digital cut file to create those circles with hearts and the scallops under the photos are another digital cut file; Simple Scallop Strips.

To create my title, I used the JustNick Studios Simple  Set Alphabet and once again combined it with the alpha stickers from the Posh collection. I layered some heart chipboard stickers and some flower die cuts to help draw attention to the title.

Yes, I used more of those adorable blue birds here too... who could resist!

The Posh collection has some beautiful washi tape and I used a couple different ones on my layout. This one might be my favorite washi tape...

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Be sure to check back all week for more Simple Stories and JustNick Studios inspiration.
