Celebrate - Miss Kate Cuttables

 Hello everyone!

I have long been a fan of Miss Kate Cuttables cut files, but did you know she now has a monthly subscription box? She asked me if I would help her promote her new monthly subscription kits and I jumped at the chance. She sent me the April Birthday Wishes kit and I couldn't wait to play with it. I love the bright happy colors and whimsical animals in the kit. In addition to the pattern papers, the kit includes a pack of coordinating solid colors. They cut beautifully with my Silhouette Cameo and my metal dies. Here is a process video of a birthday layout for my grandson's first birthday party.  I cut out tons of stars using nested star metal dies.

I also wanted to make some shaped birthday cards using some Miss Kate Cuttable cut files. The solid coordinating colored paper really came in handy for these.

Lori Whitlock Ferris Wheel Shaped Card Tutorial

 Hello everyone. 

With it being State Fair time, I wanted to make this fun Ferris Wheel Card (SVG, Silhouette). This shaped card is perfect for your Midway or Theme Park loving friends. I used the Echo Park Paper A Magical Place collection by Lori Whitlock to create mine.

This is an easy card to make. Let me show you how.

1. Choose your papers and cut out all the pieces. I like to ink the edges of my pattern papers to add more definition

2. Adhere the black ferris wheel base to the shaped card base. Then glue the star and layered heart in the middle of the wheel. Adhere the roof of the passenger cars to the bottom of the cars.

3. Use foam tape to adhere each passenger car to the wheel and embellish as you wish. I added a sentiment to the front of my wheel as well as some crystal gems for the sparkling lights.

I know this card will put a smile on someone's face! Lori has lots of other fun theme park cards in her shop. Take a look.

Summer Shaped Cards - Pebbles

Hello blogging friends!

I thought it would be fun to create some shaped cards with the Pebbles Sun & Fun collection. I love creating shaped cards. I think they add a little whimsy to any occasion.

The inspiration for my surfboard card was all the adorable die cut ephemera kids in bathing attire. I thought surfboards would make a cool backdrop for them. I used a SVGcuts cut file. This card opens almost in the middle, with two surfboards on the left and one on the right of the opening.

I popped the die cuts up with foam dots for dimension and even added a fussy cut beach ball. There are a number of different sentiments in the ephemera pack that fit lots of different occasions. Puffy dot stickers add more dimension.

The "You're One In A Melon" journal card inspired this next card. The watermelon slice was a Silhouette cut file. By duplicating the shape and welding the two slices together at the top, I was able to create my very own watermelon card.

The die cut watermelon in the ephemera pack was popped up on foam and attached to the front of this card. Once again, I added some puffy dot stickers for dimension.
