Friends Become Our Chosen Family - JustNick Studios

Hello blogging friends. Happy National Scrapbook Day!

I am here today with some scrappy JustNick Studios inspiration and a FREE cut file! I love using circle frames around my photos. Floral Ring 2 is a new digital cut file, so I thought I would use it to showcase a photo of my besties. I have been reorganizing my scrapbook room and came across these pretty papers from the Pink Paislee Take Me Away collection by Paige Evans. I didn't have any coordinating embellishments, so I combined it some rub-ons from Chic Tags ( I miss them bunches! ) and some brads from the We R Memory Keepers Chalkboard collection. I love how the black brads help create a visual triangle with the title. I thought the Simple Stories washi tape from the Love & Adore collection went really well with it too. Yeah for using some stash!

To add dimension to my layout, I layered some more flowers on top of the Floral Ring. These are from the Stems For Stephanie digital cut file.

I used one more cut file today. I just love this title, Friends Become Our Chosen Family. These wonderful women really are like family for me. They were neighbors but most have moved away, still we get together at least once a month.

Here the cut files I used today...

If you are interested in watching my process video, here it is ...

Thanks so much for stopping by. You can grab the FLORAL RING 2 cut file for FREE using the code: RINGFREE at checkout until midnight on May 7, 2017 only!

More free cut files are coming later today, so be sure to stop back at JustNick Studios.

It's The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year - Top Dog Dies

Hello blogging friends.

I gift lots of gift cards for the Holidays as my nieces and nephews are older and have rather particular preferences. I like to present them in a pretty setting though. Much more festive than those ordinary gift card envelopes. I used my new Top Dog Dies Snowman die set to make this one.

The bottom half of this card opens. I can secure the gift card to the front and still write a sentiment inside. Some gift cards are just too pretty to cover up. The top of the card was easily decorated with a tag from Chic Tags and my snowman. A few scattered snowflakes completes the card.

Thanks for stopping by. Top Dog Dies is having a Black Friday Sale. It's going on now. Be sure to check it out.

Jingle All theWay

Hello blogging friends. I have another just for fun layout I did with the Fancy Pants Merry Little Christmas collection and some Chic Tags I snatched up at my local Archivers going out of business sale. I had to use up my gift card I got for Christmas. I am so sad to see Archivers closing all of their stores. I do not have a local scrapbook store near me anymore. So, that either means road trips or more on-line shopping. I definitely need to find an on-line resource for these Chic Tags. I am just in love with them. At least I still have Micheals and JoAnnes for the necessities like adhesive. Right after I brought these tags home, I saw the latest Chic Tags sketch and I thought, “Wow, that is perfect for my new tags!”.  Here is the sketch …

And here is my take on it (improvising because I only had 6 circle tags) …

In my quest to learn new things this year and embrace technology (my 2014 resolution), there are a few new things on this layout. The first is the .png image on my photo. This was one of Kerri Bradford’s 12 Days of Christmas freebies. It’s now available in her store if you want it. The title “Jingle All the Way” is also available in her store. You really need to check out her stuff. She is amazing and has some fabulous tutorials. Learning to cut an SVG with my Silhouette is also something new for me. I just upgraded to the Designer Edition with all the fabulous Holiday sales going on. I am so happy with how this layout turned out. Let me show you some close-ups …

Do you see that those tags have dimension! I Love it!!

There is still a few days left to play along with the sketch if you want. Take care

Imaginisce Team:

I got to play with the Core'dinations Kraft Core cardstock. I love Core'dinations cardstock. It's perfect for embossing and distressing so that's what I did with my layout. The embossing folder I have is small, but after embossing one side of my cardstock strip, I turned if around to do the other side. My photos cleverly hide the seam between the top and bottom. Sanding the top gives it a two tone effect so it looks like real tree bark. I teamed it up the Kraft core cardstock with the Imaginisce Outdoor Adventure collection ...

This is my daughter Colette in the middle ( yes, my daughter who was always the dirtiest kid on the playground when I picked her up after school. ) At 20 she still enjoys rolling in mud! This was for a good cause though. She was raising $$ for Breast Cancer. I had a lot of fun slinging mud ( I mean paint ) on my layout. I even dripped paint so it looks like the mud is dripping off the photos.

I have discovered Chic Tags. These are fabulous. I used this one to hide my journaling on and tucked it behind my photo.

So leave a comment to be eligable for a prize, then hop on over to Apryl Holland http://onescrappysoul.blogspot.com

Thanks for stopping by :)
