Cardabilities Reveal

Happy Tuesday! I have another card to share today for the Cardabilities reveal. Karan Gerber has done it again creating another fabulous sketch ...

I just got my hands on some Graphic 45 By The Sea papers and was dying to play with them. Here is my take on the sketch...

The wood veneer anchor is from Creative Embellishments. They have a fabulous selection of chipboard and wood products as well as stamps. I applied crackle paint to the anchor and then inked the edges when it was dry. I really love how it turned out.

The sentiment on this card made me think of my brother-in-law. My bother-in-law loves to be out in his boat in the summer. He is in a battle for his life against cancer since last August. Last week I found out he is having yet another surgery. Every time he thinks he is getting better, he has a drawback. I thought he could use some encouragement. He amazes me that through all of the pain, he has kept his sense of humor. I pray that this surgery will be his last and that he will be able to get out on his boat this summer.

I hope you will join us in our latest challenge. Be sure to check out the Cardabilities blog to see what the other fabulous designers have created.

For Your Confirmation - Cardabilities reveal

Hello blogging friends. I think Spring has finally arrived! 50 degrees is expected today! I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will melt the rest of the snow here. Yes, there is still snow on the ground here :(

I have another card I made for Cardabilities Here is the fabulous sketch by Karan Gerber ...

This challenge is sponsered by Pickled Potpourri DesignsYou can find them here... Facebook or here... Pinterest.

Pam from Pickled Potpourri was sweet enough to send me some digital stamps to work with for the reveal. I chose to use the Cross. With Spring right around the corner I was thinking about the First Communions and Confirmations at our church. They always seem to coincide with Easter. My intent was to make a masculine Confirmation card as I have a nephew that will be getting confirmed. A masculine card with this sketch and the digital stamp just wasn't working for me though. Instead I came up with this...

Definitely a feminine card. I like the yellow with the peach color combo. To me it says SPRING! I am not huge on coloring either so left my cross plain. There is enough color on this card already, don't you think.
Be sure to check out the other designer takes. They always WOW me with their talent. If you would like to work with Karan's sketches, Cardabilities and Sketchabilities are having DT calls.

Enjoy what's left of your weekend!

Key To My Heart - Cardabilities reveal

Happy Valentines Day blogging friends. I have one more Valentine to share with you that I created for the Cardabilities reveal. Cardabilities teamed up with a new stamp company and I had a chance to play with the gorgeous Keys rubber stamp set from Chapel Road Artstamps  by Class Act Inc. Look at the intricate detail in these stamps.

I got shabby with some Carta Bella Paris Girl combined with some Beautiful Moments and came up with this....

I wanted to make some felt flowers with my dies. The extra texture that the felt adds as well as the pop of color is eyecatching. I am seeing vellum everywhere now and I love it. I just had to use a little vellum too. Some Want2Scrap bling adds an ooh la la factor :)

Enjoy your Valentines Day everyone. I am looking forward to meeting my new grand fur-baby this weekend. My daughter adopted this sweet girl name Smokey Sue and she is a 10 month old Great Pyrenees mix.

Wonder how big she will get?

and my take on the sketch using Authentique Renew and some My Favorite Things Die-namics ...

When I saw this quote, I knew it was perfect for my sister's family. I used my Word program to create it, using different fonts and text sizes for interest.

This sketch called for me to use my favorite and most used die; My Favorite Thing Die-namics Fishtail Flags. The dies come in a variety of sizes and makes creating these flags a breeze. I also made my own flowers using the My Favorite Thing Flower and Leaf Trio dies. I used some texture paint to create my leaves and gelatos to add a little more color.
