Coffee and Friends and more - Jillibean Soup Mix the Media

Hello blogging friends!

I wanted to share some Jillibean Soup Mix the Media projects that I created for Creativation 2019. This is a once a year show where the craft and hobby manufacturers shares their new products. These items were on display in the Jillibean Soup booth.

The first one is an acrylic stand that I added some brown vinyl to using a Jillibean Soup digital cut file that is available in the Silhouette store. These acrylic stands can be found at Joanne's and are perfect for adding your own designs to.

Supplies:
Jillibean Soup 3x4 Acrylic Wood Stand JB1651
Digital Cut Files: Coffee and Friends Make the Perfect Blend / Design ID # 242788
Other: Silhouette Cameo, brown matte vinyl, transfer tape.

Once I got started playing with vinyl and cut files it was hard to stop me! I found these galvinized pails at Micheals and thought they would be perfect for growing herbs. I could even start them inside if I can keep the cats out of them, lol. I have plans to do more of these. There are Jillibean Soup cut files for Rosemary, Lavender, and Dill. I am hoping they add my favorite... Cilantro.

Supplies:
Digital Cut Files: Fresh Herbs Thyme / Design ID # 260240, Fresh Herbs Basil / Design ID # 259115
Other: Silhouette Cameo, black glossy vinyl, transfer tape, small galvanized pails

I added some vinyl and felt flowers to a Jillibean Soup Mix the Media Rustic White Frame to create a garden sign to go along with my herb pots....

Supplies:
Jillibean Soup 6x10 Rustic White Frame JB1637
Felt Flowers Mixed Magenta JB1429
Digital Cut Files: Welcome To The Garden / Design ID # 261749
Other: Silhouette Cameo, green and black matte vinyl, transfer tape.

and one more ... thinking of Valentine's Day coming up, I added some red vinyl to this Jillibean Soup galvinized heart.

Supplies:
Jillibean Soup Galvinized Heart JB1194
Digital Cut Files: You Will Forever Be My Always / Design ID # 173383
Other: glossy red vinyl, transfer tape, Silhouette Cameo.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have I convinced you yet to try your hand at adding some vinyl to something?

Garden Gnome Cottage

Hello blogging friends.

Is anyone besides me counting the days til Spring? Here in Minnesota, the snow will last into April most likely, but I am already thinking about my garden. I have flower gardens all around the house and a big vegetable garden. I love my fresh vegetables!  I think I get that from my Dad. He has the most amazing green thumb. I've seen him save plants on the brink of death.

Anyway, I was dividing up some succulents in the house while I wait for the warmer weather, and I thought I would make my little garden gnomes a house. I used the Simple Stories Bloom and Grow collection along with the Simple Basics woodgrain papers and the Fairy Cottage digital cut file from SVGcuts. This was so much fun to make! Photo overload coming... but this needs to be seen from all sides.

I love that big front window and that curving staircase.

The red roof can come off, allowing you to add a battery operated tea light.

Stickers from the Simple Stories Bloom and Grow collection make it seem like my house has little flower gardens all around...

My Xyron Creative Station makes adhering all these pieces so much easier and gives me complete glue coverage. I seriously don't know how I managed without it. I still use my quick dry glue to do some of the assembly.

Have I given you Spring fever now too?  Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great week.

Bloom & Grow - Simple Stories

Hello blogging friends

I am so excited to share a couple awesome Simple Stories layouts today using the brand new Bloom & Grow collection. I think I have a new favorite collection!! It combines my love of gardening with my love for paper. I just love those little gnomes to pieces.

For my first layout "Bloom & Grow", I wanted to use a chicken wire background digital cut file and fill in the negative space with a variety of pattern papers. The prints are small enough on the 12x12 Bloom & Grow paper to make this possible. You could also use the 6x6 paper pad. This is a perfect way to use up scraps when you are nearing the end of playing with your papers. I added some stitching too for a little more texture. My animal loving daughter Colette is the little girl on this layout.

At the top of the page I used one of the 4x12 page elements. I love that Bloom & Grow graphic! I thought it would make a great title too. I gave it a little dimension by placing a chipboard sticker over the "&".

One of the those fabulous chipboard gnomes embellishes my photo. Those pink enamel dots work so well to give him a nose and make him look more life-like. There are the cuties little sayings as well. I couldn't resist the "chillin' with my gnomies".

More garden elements are clustered near the bottom of my layout along with another gnome. Isn't he is so adorable?

For my second layout "Be Happy", I decided to layer my pattern papers along with some die cut doilies to give my layout a country look. The woodgrain background paper adds a rustic feel and really shows off the delicate doily.

This adorable little bird and birdhouse make a nice cluster over the doily in the upper right. I couldn't resist adding a little jute bow here too,

The Simple Stories Bits & Pieces are fabulous for tucking under photos too. They are layered here with some Stickers, Chipboard, Enamel Dots, and oh so pretty Bradz.

I like distressing the edges of my papers slightly by rolling corners, or bending and tearing the edges. It helps to add dimension so your layout doesn't look so flat.

Make A Splash - Simple Stories

Hello blogging friends!

I am so excited to share a couple projects today using the brand new Simple Stories Sunshine and Happiness collection. It's bright and fun, perfect for all kinds of summer photos.

This first project is a fun summer layout titled Make A Splash. I am using some photos of my daughter playing in a small wading pool. I added a few JustNick Studios digital cut files as I wanted a big warm inviting sun and I also wanted some water. Take a look ...

I really love that yellow Hello Sunshine paper. I used some white cardstock to layer under my photos so they wouldn't get lost among all the color. I used some fabulous Bits and Pieces die cuts, Enamel Dots, Bradz, and Stickers to embellish. These phrase stickers are awesome!

I placed my title inside that big sun using some of the Simple Stories alpha stickers combined with a JustNick Studios digital die cut word; Splash. Mixing fonts and text size makes my title more interesting. I added some machine stitching for texture inside the sun as well. I think I add machine stitching on most of my layouts.

... GROW
For my second project I created a home decor piece. I am an avid gardener having both flower and vegetable gardens and was ecstatic to see the Simple Stories Bloom and Grow collection. There are all sorts of projects I want to make with it. This shadowbox frame was one, but I needed some orange. Good thing that the Simple Stories Sunshine and Happiness collection had the perfect orange. The woodgrain background paper is from the Bloom and Grow collection. There are also different woodgrain background papers in the Simple Stories Snap Basics that could be used instead.

The 3D carrots are from the SVGcuts Happy Easter digital cut file. Yes, 3D .... here are a few more detailed shots ...

I used some white vinyl and my Silhouette to cut the Grow script that I mounted on the front of the shadowbox frame glass.

I am thrilled with how this turned out. It looks fabulous in my porch!

Today Love Blooms - JustNick and Clique Kits

Hello blogging friends!

It's Spring and I have been out cleaning out my flower beds to prepare them for planting this year and my husband has already put my water fountain out. He gave me this fountain as an anniversary gift over 15 years ago. I could probably count the material gifts he has given me over the years on one hand, but when he does buy me something, he knows my heart. Keeping this fountain running is a labor of love for him, a gift he continues to give me each year. I can't tell you how many people have walked up to me while I was outside and offered to buy it from me straight out! No Way!!! That fountain is way too precious.

I thought I would use the gorgeous Fancy Pants Designs Attwell papers from my May Clique Kit to document this awesome gift along with some fabulous cut files from JustNick.

That background paper is so beautiful, but I did not want my photos to get lost. Framing them with the Spiral Background cut twice from white cardstock really helps keep them from blending into the background. The spirals are so similar to some of my floral die cuts too.

Some black Stems really pop against all that vivid color.

I used two different cut files to create my title; "Today" from the Today Forever Always cut file, and the "Love" from the Word 3 cut file.

Here are all the cut files I used today.

Thanks for stopping by.
