Unicorn Explosion Box - Lori Whitlock Blog Hop

Hello friends! It's blog hop time at Lori Whitlock!

Here is the blog hop order in case you want to start at the top or get lost along the way...

Marcia Dehn-Nix    ( You Are Here !!! )

I have a niece that is turning 2 this month who is obsessed with unicorns. I thought she would get a kick out of the Unicorn Explosion Box (SVGSilhouette) I can't wait to see her face when she opens this! I used pattern papers from the Lori Whitlock's All About a Girl collection. I think all unicorns need glitter, so I used a glitter cardstock for the outside of my box and decorated it with die cuts that matched the lid.

Opened, it looks like this ...  I think I can get some candy to place inside the box too.

She will love playing with this even after her birthday.

Go check out all of Lori's new designs. Right now Lori's designs are 30% off!!!!!  Use code Sep2022 to get 30% off all SVGs, Fonts and Commercial Licenses!

While you are at it, grab this FREE cut file!

And finally, how would you like to win a $20 Coupon to the Lori Whitlock SVG Shop?

Thanks so much for stopping by. Your next stop is Michelle Starcher.

Wahooo, Life Is Good - My Creative Scrapbook

Hello blogging friends!

I've been struggling in my creative endeavors of late. I feel a bit lost without my Silhouette Cameo.  I knew I was a cut file addict, but didn't realize how much of my inspiration came from cut files I wanted to use. Before replacing my machine, Silhouette wanted me to try a new power cord they would ship to me. That took almost 2 weeks. I'm trying to stay positive. I know there is a pandemic going on. I know people are not working, or working reduced hours so thay they can work safely. My machine is now on the way to Utah. The shipping charges were unbelievable. I might save every box I get now, lol. Once they receive my machine, a new one will be shipped to me. I'm hoping my new machine will arrive shortly.

In the mean time, here is a layout I created for My Creative Scrapbook using the fun May Main kit. It features the new Picnic In The Park collection by Amy Tangerine and the Simple Stories Hey Crafty Girl collection. I lifted a previous layout, hoping to stimulate my mojo. This design uses lots of stickers and strips of paper. I even broke out my old creative memories circle cutter and proceeded to cut a hole in my new craft mat! (insert facepalm) Yeah me! Another thing that needs to be replaced now. Anyway, here is how my layout turned out...

The rainbow pattern paper had me remembering this photo of my daughter and her best friend wearing a rainbow shirt. It's one of my favorite photos. I love that I was able to captured this fun moment. That woohoo puffy phrase sticker was perfect.

The red circles draw your eye across and down my page. On top of the bottom half circle, I placed the cut apart journal card inside a chipboard frame. Machine stitching adds interest and texture. Lots more puffy stickers and strips of paper are lined up in rows under my photo.

There are a few Simple Stories Spring stickers here are well. (butterflies)

I love how fun this layout turned out. Please check out the My Creative Scrapbook kits. There is sure to be one to suit your scrapbook style.

Esme - My Creative Scrapbook

Hello blogging friends!

I made a bunch of layouts with the March My Creative Scrapbook Main kit and can't wait to share with you. This kit featured the Pink Paislee Bloom Street collection and exclusive cut files from Neat and Crafty Cutz. It's a beautiful kit! Here is the first layout I made....

This is my niece Esme, the latest addition to our family! She is the cutest with her big brown eyes! I used one of the exclusive cut files to create a cluster of flowers under my photo. I added more flower ephemera pieces on top.

I added a sticker to the right of my photo that says Showered With Love. That pretty much sums it up, spoilt by everybody.

I love that gorgeous butterfly too. Do you notice my watercolor background? I thought I would try some Lindy's Magicals. So fun to try.

Want to see how it all came together? Check out my YouTube process video here...

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great weekend. If your sick, stay home and scrap!

Grateful - PageMaps

Hello blogging friends!

The November PageMaps sketches are up and they are awesome! Here is the sketch I worked with this month.

I used the gorgeous Pink Paislee Truly Grateful collection and decided to scrap some senior photos of my oldest daughter Naomi. Here is how it turned out.

One of my favorite ephemera pieces is this heart cross stitch circle. I stitched it with some pink embroidery floss before adhering it to my layout. I used one of the Truly Grateful phrase thickers for my title, layering it over the heart.

Here is my journal spot, embellished with more of the thickers puffy stickers.

I created a floral cluster underneath my photo on the right. In addition to the floral ephemera pieces I added a few JustNick Studio digital cut file stems and a few tassels.

I added some machine stitching for texture and just a few splatters of ink.

I love how this turned out!

In My Easter Bonnet | Marcia Dehn-Nix

Hello blogging friends!

Today I am sharing some Easter inspiration using some of the new JustNick Studio Spring digital cut files available in the store. I love using flower cut files especially on my girly layouts. This one features one of my daughters in her Easter bonnet (from a long time ago).

You can never go wrong with a circle design. I applied some gesso and spray mist to my pattern paper to help set off the flowers and Leaf Wreath. To add dimension to the Build A Flower 1 florals, I inked the edges and then bent the petals upwards before assembing them.

I am in love with these airy Spring Florals. Here too I inked the edges as well as the middle of the flowers. Then I added a contrasting button in the middle. So pretty!

Here are the cut files I used today ...

Thanks so much for stopping by. Enjoy your weekend!

It's A Girl! - Baby Shower Party Decor with Pebbles

Hello blogging friends!

Our theme this week over on the Pebbles blog has been party invites. Since I am helping to plan a baby shower for my nephew and his new wife who are expecting a girl, I decided to go with a baby shower theme. The Pebbles Loves Me collection was perfect with all those pretty pink pattern papers and cute die cut ephemera pieces and stickers. I found this cute umbrella bag digital cut file at SVGcuts and could not wait to make these. They are going to look so fabulous on tables at the baby shower! I could fill them with snacks. They would also be awesome as small gift bags.

Each umbrella is created from two different pattern papers. They are not full umbrellas, rather the back is flat. This left space for me to stamp "It's A Girl!" and then embellish with die cuts and stickers. Each one is different.

There are adorable sloths adorning the handles of each umbrella as well as bows.

Don't pack your Loves Me collection away just yet ... Valentines Day is over, but this collection can do double duty for baby girls, Easter, Mother's Day and so much more!

Ahhh... The Princess Life - Simple Stories

Hello blogging friends!

I am back today with an adorable layout that I created with the new Simple Stories Little Princess collection. This collection is so cute!!!! It's perfect for those little girl layouts, but versatile enough with lots of pattern papers that could do double duty on birthday layouts and more. My two girls loved to dress-up when they were little and pretend that they were fairy princesses. On my layout today, I am scrapping one of the dress-up photos I have of my daughter, complete with ballerina tutu, magic wand, and baggy tights, lol.  I wanted to create a fairy tale scene for my background so I decided to create some fluffy clouds using a stencil and blue distress ink. It was the perfect backdrop for a dragon protecting a castle, a beautiful princess, a magical swan, and royal banners.

I used die cuts from the Tags & Frames pack to create a grid based layout. I embellished each frame with fun, adorable die cuts from the Bits & Pieces pack as well as chipboard and stickers, creating little make believe scenes within my frames.

Of course my little princess needed a frog prince who desperately needed a kiss to embellish her photo. Check out these cute bow clips too!

The banners were created from lots of different pattern papers. I tried out my new We R Memory Keepers Banner Punch Board. I LOVE this new tool!!!!  The banners were then stitched together with my sewing machine before adhering to my layout with foam dots. I love how bright and colorful they are.

If you have girls, the Little Princess collection is a must. It is perfect for documenting your little girl's adventures in the land of make believe. Thanks so much for stopping by today! Enjoy the rest of your week.

Sparkle - Simple Stories

Hello blogging friends.

I have some Simple Stories inspiration for you today. I couldn't resist using the Dream Big collection to document a special little ladies birthday. She reached double digits ... 10! Not too old though, Destinee is the perfect age for unicorns and fairies. I couldn't get a big unicorn with rainbow hair out of my mind when I saw this collection so I decided to do it big ... I love how he turned out! You can find him in the Silhouette store.

I added sparkle to my unicorn with some holographic foil paper. I love the extra magical shimmer it added. The puffy stickers were perfect for adding some flowers near that magical horn.

I used more stickers and some bits and pieces die cuts to embellish my photo. Some machine stitching adds a little texture.

The Sparkle die cut makes for a fabulous title and the rainbow hair really sets the die cuts off.

I wanted to make something extra special for this little ladies birthday so I created a cupcake carousel, complete with unicorn ponies. The cupcake carousel digital cut file is from SVGcuts.

Using the print and cut unicorns available in the Silhouette Store, I made some cupcake picks. The print and cut files are awesome as you can resize your unicorns to whatever size you need and make enough picks for all your cupcakes.
