Baking Spirits Bright - PageMaps

Hello blogging friends,

I am a little behind in my blogging. The December PageMaps were revealed at the beginning of the month and I am just now getting around to blogging my layout I created. These sketches are sure to get your mojo revving. Here is the sketch I worked with this month.

I have a friend who hosts a gingerbread house decorating party every year. She makes her gingerbread houses from scratch! They are amazing. I so look forward to this every year. Last year I made sure to get a photo of her with my house so I could scrap it. I used the Pebbles Merry Little Christmas collection. The candy pattern papers were perfect, as was the Baking Spirits Bright gold thicker title.

I used a digital cut file from Carina Gardner that is available in the Silhouette store. The little gingerbread men and women and the candy cane were holiday buttons that I cut the shank off in the back. Aren't they adorable!

Supplies:
Pebbles Merry Little Christmas 12×12 paper pad
Pebbles Merry Little Christmas Washi Tape
Pebbles Merry Little Christmas Die Cut Ephemera
Pebbles Merry Little Christmas Gold Thickers

I hope you are having a fabulous December!

In My Easter Bonnet | Marcia Dehn-Nix

Hello blogging friends!

Today I am sharing some Easter inspiration using some of the new JustNick Studio Spring digital cut files available in the store. I love using flower cut files especially on my girly layouts. This one features one of my daughters in her Easter bonnet (from a long time ago).

You can never go wrong with a circle design. I applied some gesso and spray mist to my pattern paper to help set off the flowers and Leaf Wreath. To add dimension to the Build A Flower 1 florals, I inked the edges and then bent the petals upwards before assembing them.

I am in love with these airy Spring Florals. Here too I inked the edges as well as the middle of the flowers. Then I added a contrasting button in the middle. So pretty!

Here are the cut files I used today ...

Thanks so much for stopping by. Enjoy your weekend!

Home Sweet Home - JustNick Studios

Hello blogging friends!

Before the first frost here in Minnesota, I wanted to get a photo of my hubby and I on our front step. I like to fill my front step with pots of flowers and ferns. It makes me happy to see the plants when I come home. I decided to scrap that photo using the JustNick Studio Home Sweet Home digital cut file.

Home Sweet Home made for the perfect title. I layered some gold over the top to create some added interest.

I knew I wanted to include some florals behind my photo and decided on Floral Swag 3. I filled the flowers with a variety of pink pattern papers.

Here are the digital cut files I used today ...

Farm Life - Jillibean Soup

Hello blogging friends!

Recently, I was going through some old photos with my Dad. When we came across this one of him with his youngest sisters, he explained that the car was his Dad's first. Not all of his 10 siblings and his parents could go anywhere together at the same time. On Sunday mornings, his older siblings went to the early mass and he and his younger siblings would go with their parents to the late mass. That old car reminded me of this pattern paper in the Jillibean Soup Farmhouse Stew collection and I wanted to use it on a layout.

I created a chicken wire background with some spray mist and a stencil. Perfect for a farm photo, don't you think?  Then I created three large tags from pattern paper that I could add my journaling to as well as embellishments. The Jillibean Soup corrugated alphas were used for my title. I love the texture that they add.

That rooster same from a Jillibean Soup digital cut file available in the Silhouette store.

I anchored the photo with another cluster of embellishments. I fussy cut some flowers from pattern paper for here. Buttons with twine bows add to the farmhouse look.

Didn't this turn out great! I love preserving these memories of my Dad's life when he was a child.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Do you have some vintage photos to scrap? The Jillibean Soup Farmhouse Stew collection would be great to use! Check it out.

Love You - Paper Issues

Hello blogging friends!

I am back today with another layout for Paper Issues. Today we are spotlighting stitching, either by hand or by machine. I chose to use machine stitching on this layout using the gorgeous new Maggie Holmes Carousel collection.

This Ferris wheel photo is from a recent trip my family took to South Carolina's Myrtle Beach. Here are some detail shots...

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Have a great week!

Aloha - Cocoa Vanilla Studios

Hello blogging friends!

Did you know that the Paper Issues on-line store is now carrying the Cocoa Vanilla Studios Totally Rad collection!!! EEK!!! I am so excited that you can now purchase these Australian scrapbook papers and embellies here in the US. It is flying off the shelf too ... I hope this means that they will get the other collections for you too :)

I started scrapping some photos from our recent winter getaway to Hawaii. We had such a great time and the weather was fabulous! I couldn't wait to dig into the Hello Sunshine collection from Cocoa Vanilla  Studios. I wanted to create something different with the sunset photo using a silhouette over the photo. I also played with my watercolors, extending the yellow and orange from the photo onto my scrapbook page.

I wasn't thrilled with our airport selfie ... converting it to black and white helped some. What can I say ... you just aren't going to look great after 10 hours of traveling.

I cut the title using my Silhouette and embellished with the beautiful Blooms, die cuts and puffy stickers.

Something new with this release from Cocoa Vanilla ... these bright and colorful buttons.

I love all the die cut ephemera pieces too. They make me so happy :)

So glad you stopped by today! Enjoy the rest of the week.

Smile - Cocoa Vanilla Studios and JustNick

Hello blogging friends!

Today I am sharing another layout using the soft and beautiful Free Spirit collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studios. I love the combination of orange with the pink in this collection and decided to play up those two colors. I had the perfect photo too. Destinee was wearing a pink and orange striped dress and her favorite pink cowboy boots. I decided to create a Valentine’s Day layout using the JustNick Candy Hearts cut file. I combined the candy hearts with a ray cut file I created. I love the end result...

Something new with the Free Spirit and Hello Sunshine collections are these awesome puffy stickers and buttons. I used one of the puffy stickers for my title "Smile". You can also see one of the sweet shaped buttons in my cluster. Don't worry though, your old favorites are still available too, like the stickers, ephemera die cuts, the flair, enamel shapes, and the wood veneer. Check out that adorable pineapple.

The ray cut file was created by drawing lines from a point behind my photo to the outer edges of the candy hearts I scattered across the background. I backed the negative space with this pretty patterned pink paper.

The candy hearts were cut from pink and orange cardstock and mounted on foam tape for some dimension.
