Wahooo, Life Is Good - My Creative Scrapbook

Hello blogging friends!

I've been struggling in my creative endeavors of late. I feel a bit lost without my Silhouette Cameo.  I knew I was a cut file addict, but didn't realize how much of my inspiration came from cut files I wanted to use. Before replacing my machine, Silhouette wanted me to try a new power cord they would ship to me. That took almost 2 weeks. I'm trying to stay positive. I know there is a pandemic going on. I know people are not working, or working reduced hours so thay they can work safely. My machine is now on the way to Utah. The shipping charges were unbelievable. I might save every box I get now, lol. Once they receive my machine, a new one will be shipped to me. I'm hoping my new machine will arrive shortly.

In the mean time, here is a layout I created for My Creative Scrapbook using the fun May Main kit. It features the new Picnic In The Park collection by Amy Tangerine and the Simple Stories Hey Crafty Girl collection. I lifted a previous layout, hoping to stimulate my mojo. This design uses lots of stickers and strips of paper. I even broke out my old creative memories circle cutter and proceeded to cut a hole in my new craft mat! (insert facepalm) Yeah me! Another thing that needs to be replaced now. Anyway, here is how my layout turned out...

The rainbow pattern paper had me remembering this photo of my daughter and her best friend wearing a rainbow shirt. It's one of my favorite photos. I love that I was able to captured this fun moment. That woohoo puffy phrase sticker was perfect.

The red circles draw your eye across and down my page. On top of the bottom half circle, I placed the cut apart journal card inside a chipboard frame. Machine stitching adds interest and texture. Lots more puffy stickers and strips of paper are lined up in rows under my photo.

There are a few Simple Stories Spring stickers here are well. (butterflies)

I love how fun this layout turned out. Please check out the My Creative Scrapbook kits. There is sure to be one to suit your scrapbook style.

Thanks for stopping by.

Until We Meet Again - My Creative Scrapbook

Hello blogging friends!

I hope you have all been healthy during this coronavirus pandemic. A few weeks ago we said goodbye to my daughter's dog Nana. So when I saw the rainbow cut file that is included as part of the My Creative Scrapbook May Main kit, I knew I wanted to use it to document her crossing over the rainbow bridge. This is another awesome kit. It features the new Picnic In The Park collection by Amy Tangerine and the Simple Stories Hey Crafty Girl collection.

Here is a closer look...

For my title, I arranged the stickers that came in the kit inside my rainbows to help them pop against that colorful paper.

Be sure to check this kit out as well as the other kits available. You won't be disappointed.

Tickled Pink - Paper Issues

Hello blogging friends!

It's try it Tuesday on the Paper Issues blog. This month is called: Tape It Up! Use any type of tape (masking, washi, cello etc) in a new and inventive way to create interest, texture, shape, form on your project. I had so much fun creating my washi tape layout last week, that I thought it would be fun to try the same design on a card. I layered washi tape all down the side of my card to create interest. Then used a My Favorite Things stamp for my sentiment, and added that fabulous inflated flamingo from the Amy Tangerine On A Whim collection. I love how it turned out!!

That flamingo though 😍😍😍!

Can't wait to see what you create for this! Have a great week!

Chill - Paper Issues

Hello blogging friends.

I have a new layout to share that I created for Paper Issues Scraplift Sundays. I couldn't wait to scrap some vacation layouts from our recent trip to South Carolina. We had the best time and perfect weather. This layout features a selfie of myself!! and the Amy Tangerine On A Whim collection. It was perfect for my pina colada selfie with all those pineapples!

Check out this mixed media tag and puffy pineapple ephemera from Amy Tangerine's On a Whim collection, It's hard to see but there is a pineapple on that tag... because it didn't show up very well, I added some pineapple washi tape from my stash.

I mixed in some puffy stickers from the My Mind's Eye Palm Beach collection. They worked so well on here.

I fussy cut some flowers and leaves to create my clusters and added a few palm leaves. Some thread gives it some texture.

You can find my supplies in the Paper Issues on-line store. Use my coupon code and save 20%!

I would love to have you check out my process video.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great week.

New Dies at Top Dog Dies

Hello blogging friends. Did you see all the new Top Dog Dies released last week? Project Life scrappers take note... there are some awesome dies for you too! I used one of the new pocket page dies to create this sympathy card.

I love the faux stitching on the edge of the die, The sentiment is from the Altenew Ori Kami set and the papers were from the January Clique Kit featuring Amy Tangerine's Stitched collection. Clique Kits has a monthly challenge that anyone can enter. You don't need to be a subscriber to play along. I would love to see more of you play along!

I also used the new Top Dog Dies Pretty Petals 3 and the new Top Dog Dies Leaves dies. These are awesome for layering to make such realistic looking flowers. Here is a closer look at those pretty flowers...

Are you as excited as me about these fabulous new dies? Thanks for stopping by!

Today - Clique Kits

Hello blogging friends! I had to scrap another wedding layout with the January Clique Kit Tailor Made full of Amy Tangerine's Stitched papers, stickers, and alphas. The flower paper was just so pretty, I thought it would be perfect to scrap a photo of my daughter in our home before heading out for the ceremony. Did you know Clique Kits has an Anything Goes challenge running through January? It's sponsored by Creative Embellishments, one of my favorite on-line stores! You could win a $25 gift certificate!! Use something from Creative Embellishments and get an extra entry. You do not need to use a Clique Kit to enter. This is open to everybody!

I used the latest sketch at Creative Scrappers, flipped on it's side...

I created a soft look with punched borders and a doily (from Top Dog Dies of course) and I used the vellum from my November Clique Kit. I finished these gorgeous laser cut chipboard birds from Creative Embellishments with a Inka Gold Metallic Rub. LOVE that stuff!

Some gold thread and pretty Prima flowers make an elegant statement.

I hope you will play along with our Clique Kits challenge this month!

XO - Creative Scrappers Reveal

Hello blogging friends. It's time for another Creative Scrappers Reveal! This one, by the talented Jenny Evans, does not disappoint!

I actually scrapped a layout of myself this time (*gasp*). This was taken last Christmas in front of our Christmas tree. I converted it to a black and white photo so it doesn't look too Christmassy. I had to photoshop the photo to switch the heads. Yup, I couldn't keep my mouth shut when the photo was taken (why do I have to talk?) and in another shot my hubby closed his eyes! Has anyone else tried the photomerge faces? Thankfully it was relatively easy to do and it looks so much better without my mouth open :)

I used the gorgeous Maggie Holmes Styleboard papers from Crate Paper with a mish mash of embellies from Studio Calico, Crate, Fancy Pants, Maya Road, and American Crafts. I've had these gold doilies for about 6 months now! Gold is so trendy right now, why did I wait so long? I love the look with the gold vellum and gold rub-ons. As much as I love those triangles in the sketch, I had to replace them with hearts. I especially love that love paper clip from Maya Road! Here are some close-ups...

I hope you will join us. Our sponsor this month is My Creative Scrapbook.

Thanks for stopping by.

Bucket List @50 - Creative Scappers 272 Reveal

Hello blogging friends! I hope you are dry where ever you are. Here in Minnesota, we just set the record for the most rain in June. Lakes and rivers are so high people who live near water are sandbagging. Let's hope July is a little dryer (especially on the weekends).

I have a layout to share today for Creative Scrappers that is all about journaling. The sketch has no photo!

I decided to scrap a layout about my bucket list. I turned 50 last September. When you turn 50, you start thinking about how much longer you will be in this world. How many people live to be 100 or more? My life is half over! This past year has been so hard watching my brother-in-law struggle in his battle against cancer. What if my spouse or I become terminally ill? It really made me think about what I want to do. In fact I spent more time thinking about my journaling than I did on creating this layout. So this is my bucket list @50.

I used the awesome Amy Tangerine Plus One collection. "Live the life you love, Love the life you live" quote on a sticker really fit my bucket list theme. I printed my journaling out on vellum and used some bright green washi tape from Love My Tapes to adhere the vellum to my layout. Here are some close-up details ....

That heart background is a Kerri Bradford file. I love her designs. I used some of the cut out hearts to add more dimension with some foam adhesive.

Oh, you can't read my journaling? Here you go, my bucket list ....
  1.  I want to see all three of my kids graduate from college.  One down, Two to go! (Colette has 3 years of Vet School and Trenton has 2 more years of undergrad studies)
  2. I want to be more tech savvy where my Silhouette is involved. I have learned a lot, but I feel there is so much more I could be doing with it.
  3.  I want to feel the sand between my toes and warm sunshine on my face  while on vacation in Hawaii. A trip to Hawaii would not be complete without seeing Pearl Harbor and the Volcanoes National Park.
  4. I want to see whales up close in the Atlantic Ocean while they are migrating off the east coast.
  5.  I want to see the redwood trees in California that are so big, people can drive their cars through tunnels in them.
  6.  I want to see fields of tulips blooming in the Netherlands. I've been there for work on a couple occasions but it was winter and there was no time to sightsee (and no tulips).
  7. I want to visit the Louvre in Paris to stare at Impressionist paintings all day.
  8. I want to attend mass at the Vatican with the Pope residing.
  9. I want to go on an African Safari. Just imagine seeing an elephant or a lion in their natural habitat!
  10. I want to go on an Alaskan cruise when the sun shines 24 hours a day.
  11. I want to go ice fishing.  Crazy, I know. I live in Minnesota with lots of lakes and frozen water , yet I have never been ice fishing!
  12. I want to enjoy my grandkids (if I ever have any!). I never had the opportunity to be a stay at home Mom, so I am hoping I can indulge my grandkids with trips to the zoo and science museums, playtime in the park where we can feed the ducks, swimming at the lake, and theater outings.
