A2 Card Envelope Box Tutorial - Lori Whitlock

Hello everyone!

I have an A2 card storage box tutorial to share with you today.  This A2 Card Envelope Box (SVGSilhouette) cut file can be found in Lori’s Store along with many other varieties of boxes. I used some pretty pattern papers from Lori's new Day In The Life collection as well as coordinating cardstock from my stash..

Let me show you how easy this box is to put together.

1. Choose your papers and cut out two box bottom pieces and two box top pieces. The cut file contains only one of each so be sure to cut everything twice. Adhere the panels to the cardstock base. Using cardstock for the base pieces will ensure a sturdy box.

2.  Working with the bottom of the box first, adhere the two sides of the box together.

3.  Turn the box upside-down and adhere the tabs to the box bottom. Then fold the last flap over the bottom and glue down.

4.  Now let's work on the box top. Adhere the front to the back by gluing the rectangular piece with pattern paper over the same size rectangular piece with no pattern paper.  Fold the sides in making sure the side with pattern paper is on the outside, tucking the tabs in. Adhere the sides and then the tabs.

5.  Place the last rectangular pattern paper piece on the inside of the lid.

6.  There are stamp cut file pieces that you can use to adorn your box making it look like a stamped envelope. I also placed a journal card on the front so I can use that space when gifting my box full of cards to someone. Or if it is just too pretty to give away, to write what kind of cards I have stored inside.

These boxes would be great for storing your Valentines too.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Be sure to check out Lori’s Store for more amazing cut files.

Marcia Dehn-Nix    ( You Are Here !!! )

I have a niece that is turning 2 this month who is obsessed with unicorns. I used pattern papers from the Lori Whitlock's All About a Girl collection. I think all unicorns need glitter, so I used a glitter cardstock for the outside of my box and decorated it with die cuts that matched the lid.

Opened, it looks like this ...  I think I can get some candy to place inside the box too.

She will love playing with this even after her birthday.

Gift Boxes with Pebbles Hey, Hello

Hello blogging friends!

With most people around the world right now sheltering in place to help reduce the spread of coronavirus, no birthday parties or wedding receptions or baby showers or celebrations of any kind involving groups of people are happening. I want to make sure some special people in my life still feel loved even if we cannot be together for special events. My Mother-in-law just turned 80 and I couldn't even give her a hug! I decided to make some little gift boxes to deliver to some special people with some goodies inside. I used two coordinating sheets of 12x12 of pattern papers from the beautiful Hey, Hello collection and decorated my boxes with tags that can be cut from pattern paper. Boxes are easy to make. I used a cut file from SVGcuts , but they can also be made without using a cutting machine.

The Hey, Hello collection is perfect for special occasions of all kinds, like birthdays.

There is plenty of room inside for cupcakes, donuts, or cookies.

Layer up a couple tags and a ribbon on the top to make your box so festive looking.

This next gift box could be used for a birthday as well, but I'm giving it to a girl who will be graduating from high school. Commencements have been canceled. I can put candy, gift cards, or cash inside.

I added a tag cut from pattern paper to the top along with a die cut phrase ephemera piece and some ribbon.

But don't think this collection is just for kids... This beautiful floral box went to my Mother-in-law. It would be perfect for Mother's Day too. There are lots of other beautiful floral papers that would make lovely gift boxes.

I put her favorite chocolates inside. Once again I adorned my box with ribbon, a tag, die cut ephemera, and cut paper leaves.

Do you have anyone special you can't be with right now? Why not create a special gift box for them. You don't need a special occasion to tell someone your thinking of them.

I wanted to share a DIY Spring Easter basket idea that you can create with beautiful pattern papers from the Pebbles Hey, Hello collection. I am using the Easter Egg Hunt digital cut file from SVGcuts. There are lots of gorgeous floral papers perfect for Spring to choose come.

This would be a perfect craft to do with your children while they are home. Pick a favorite color cardstock and floral pattern paper combination, like this pretty teal floral with eggs from the Hey, Hello collection.

Or a pretty pink ...

Tie some raffia ribbon to the handle for a feminine touch.

Or is blue your favorite color? I love the little birds and flower pattern on this beautiful paper.

Which floral pattern would you choose? Wishing you all health and safety in these trying times.

Happy Cake Day Party Favors - Pebbles

Hello blogging friends!

Today is my first post using the fun Pebbles Happy Cake Day collection. I love making party favors. They can really help to create a festive vibe at your party. Instead of making just a couple cake boxes, I made an entire cake! Best of all, they can be displayed on a cake plate just like a real cake.

I made a combination of chocolate and strawberry cake boxes using several different pattern papers for my frosting. Some pretty rosette ribbon looks just like piped frosting along the edge of my cake.

You can decorate the boxes with stickers or die cut ephemera pieces like I did here.

The tops of the cake boxes come off to reveal a nice sized space for treats.

Each cake box also has it's own candle. A little bit of yellow stickles gives them a warm glow.

Wouldn't you love to receive one of these cake box party favors when you attend your next birthday party! You can find the cut file at SVGcuts, It's called B is For Birthday. Be sure to check out the Happy Cake Day collection for your families birthdays.

Supplies:
Happy Cake Day collection 12x12 paper pad
Happy Cake Day collection ephemera with foil accents
American Crafts cardstock

Hello Beach - Simple Stories

Hello blogging friends!

I am back today with another Simple Stories layout using the awesome new Hello Summer collection. Last Summer my daughter took a trip with girlfriends to Sunset Beach in Florida. She had just graduated from Veterinary Collage and wanted a little vacation before diving into her internship. This collection was perfect for scrapping those beach photos.

I went with a big title that I could back with different pattern papers. This is a great way to include lots of patterns and colors on your layout. I wanted that title to make a big statement. After a long winter there is nothing better than soaking up some glorious sunshine at the beach. The chipboard Hello layered on top makes for the perfect title "Hello Beach".

To create the illusion of water on my layout, I added some watered down blue spray mist to my background using some plastic packaging. Next to my photo, I added this fun flamingo from the 3x4 Elements paper and layered lots of fun chipboard stickers,Bits & Pieces die cuts, and phrase stickers.

I added a strip of washi tape to the top of my layout then layered the pennant banners over the top. The colorful banners add balance to the colorful title.

If you would like to see my process video here is the link ...

While I still had all my papers and embellishments out, I decided to make a gift box and decorate it with the Hello Summer die cuts. I used a digital cut file from SVGcuts.

The Hello Summer collection is perfect for documenting more than just your beach photos. With the watermelons, pineapples, suns, clouds, and flamingos, this fun collection could be used for picnics, playground outings, or any outdoor summer fun activity. What fun memories will you be making this summer?
