My Creative Scrapbook July Layout Share

 Hello friends,

Once again My Creative Scrapbook has put together amazing kits for July. Let me show you what I created with the Main kit featuring the Maggie Holmes Woodland Grove collection from American Crafts.

1. Love Grows Here - This layout was created using the July sketch by Laura Whitaker for My Creative Scrapbook. It features my son's girlfriend from her maternity photo shoot. I used the 49th and Market stamp that was included with the kit and created my own mixed media background. Watch my YouTube process video to see how it all came together here.

2.  Summer Fun - I had just returned from a visit to my daughter in Colorado and could not wait to scrap these photos from our trip to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. If you are an animal lover, this zoo is a must! We absolutely loved feeding the giraffes there. I added some canvas flair from Scrappin' Happy Studio on this layout. The cut file is from The Cut Shoppe and was included with a kit subscription.

3.  Seek Sunshine - With all the pink and floral papers, I decided my next layout should be girly and decided to scrap a photo of my oldest daughter. The ribbon on this layout is from my stash. The die cut floral pieces included some acetate butterflies and flowers. A bit challenging to use is you prefer white backgrounds but I love how it looks on top of this photo.

4.  My Kind of Paradise - This layout was inspired by this pretty cut file from PearTree Cut Files that was included for kit subscribers. I pulled together the natural tones from the papers and a favorite photo of Split Rock Lighthouse along the north shore of Lake Superior. The mixed media background is from one of Vicki Boutin's Mixed Media Paper Pads.

My Creative Scrapbook puts together 4 kits every month. Be sure to check out the other kits and projects the designers created with them.

May Layouts For My Creative Scrapbook

Hello friends,

I am so excited to share my layouts created with the May Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook. This gorgeous kit features the Maggie Holmes Gingham Garden collection and a stamp set from Jen Hadfield both from American Crafts.

I have a YouTube process video for my first layout. Please check it out for details. The adorable canvas flair is from Scrappin' Happy Studio.

I used the monthly sketch by Laura Whitaker to create my second layout. This one features my grandson. Those big smiles were all for Ms Rachel on YouTube.

I always think Maggie Holmes collection's work so well for wedding photos and decided to scrap some photos of my own wedding. The Rustic Ring cut file is from JustNick Studios.

My final layout is of my niece Cora at 9 months. I layered up strips of pattern papers like a layer cake and placed my photo on a doily at the top. She is the cutest!

My Creative Scrapbook puts together four different kits each month so there is something for all different styles of scrapbookers. Go check them all out. The kits are amazing and always full of the newest collections available.

Thanks so much for stopping by,

August My Creative Scrapbook Kit - Maggie Holmes Round Trip

 Hello everyone!

I wanted to post my layouts and YouTube videos with the My Creative Scrapbook August Main kit before my life gets crazy with the arrival of my first grandson. This amazing kit featured the beautiful Maggie Holmes Round Trip collection. Each kit comes with cut files you can download.

1. Every Day Is an Adventure With You

When I saw this rainbow paper I had to create a layout with it as my background and give a try at paper rolling the ends of the rainbow up. I used one of the PearTree cut files included with the kit subscription. Added a cute selfie with my adorable dog Princeton and a few embellishments.

You can catch my YouTube video here ...

2. Weekend Away - This map paper was another favorite. I used a PearTree Cut file (Weekend Away) for my title that was included with the kit subscription. Our Fourth of July trip to Grand Marais was amazing and I had some great photos of the bay and Lake Superior (and of course, The World's Best Donuts). A donut shop with a line ... all day long! They were delicious!!

3. Biergarten - My third layout used the sketch from Laura Whitaker for My Creative Scrapbook. I flipped the sketch on it's side to better suite my photos.

This fun layout uses strips of paper for the background. Since there are a few pretzel embellishments, I felt I needed to scrap a German layout, lol. Catch my YouTube process video here ...

4. Paris Sights and Food - I had a few odd photos left from our Paris trip and decided to combine them on this layout. The kit included this awesome BoBunny stamp set with the fun Let's Go On An Adventure repeated in a circle. I decided to create my clusters around them.

My Creative Scrapbook has Four different kits they put together each month. Again, I used the Main kit. Please go check out the other kits. They really have something for everyone.

I'll be sharing my September layouts soon (and pics of the new grandbaby). Stay tuned!

March Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook

 Hello friends!

I apologize, I am slow to share my scrapbook layouts created with the March Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook. This gorgeous kit features the Maggie Holmes Market Square collection. With all Maggie Holmes collections, there are always pretty floral pattern papers perfect for fussy cutting.

This first layout contains a photo of my new niece and nephew. I love how big he is smiling here.

I have a YouTube video of this layout here ...

With all the buildings in the collection, I was inspired to create a layout documenting the best breakfast I have ever had on our Paris travels.

More fussy cutting flowers on this layout of my son and his girlfriend attending a wedding in beautiful Northern Minnesota. I even managed to use the stamp set included in the kit.

I love these photos of my daughter and her boyfriend horseback riding in Montana when visiting friends there. This was a great opportunity to use all those animal chipboard and die cut pieces. I think that piglet is my favorite! The cut file I used is included with your kit subscription and is from PearTree Cut Files.

You can catch the YouTube layout here ...

Create Memories - International Scrapbook Day

 Hello blogging friends!

I am so happy to be participating in the International Scrapbook Day festivities over at Scrapbook.com. They sent me a bunch of fun items available in the scrapbook.com store and I created this layout.

I used the Maggie Holmes Sweet Story pattern papers. One of those pattern papers has bows. I used an exclusive scrapbook.com stencil called Little Bows and lots of scrapbook.com hybrid inks and distress inks to create a colorful bow pattern.

The eye-catching thing about this layout though is that awesome ice cream cone! When I saw the scrapbook.com 3.5"x 8.5" Sherbet Cardstock pack I immediately wanted to create a slimline card with all those yummy sherbet colors. My Mom's birthday is coming up and I needed a card. I ended up creating two so I could use one on my layout. I created the scoops using an old Top Dog die I had, but there are similar dies available at scrapbook.com. I didn't have a cone die so the cone is cut from a Silhouette cut file. There is a sentiment stamp set called Sunshiney Days that I used to stamp Live Colorfully.

I created a YouTube video as well. Check out the scrapbook.com YouTube channel to watch it.

Scrapbook.com has loads of great sales going on! Everyday there is a new freebie too just for making a purchase. Go check it out and be sure to stop back every day!

New Beginnings Together - PageMaps

 Hello blogging friends!

I can't believe its already November! That means the new PageMaps sketches are live! Becky's sketches are sure to inspire you to get out some paper and glue again. Here is the sketch I used.

Today I am scrapping a photo of my daughter Colette and her dog Sue. They recently moved to Colorado and love it there. One of their favorite things to do is get out and hike on one of many trails in the mountains. Here they are visiting Eldorado Canyon. I love that big smile on that dog's face!

I used the gorgeous new Crate Paper Marigold collection by Maggie Holmes. The little woodland creatures were perfect to add as embellishments. Here are some close-ups. This deer is so adorable. I wish just the deer was sold in packs, I would use them all the time.

Here you can get a glimpse of the mixed media background I created with spray mist as well as more beautiful embellishments.

Fussy cut flowers add a touch of femininity and softens the look.

I have a new YouTube process video available for this layout. I would love it if you would watch.

Me You Us Together Always - My Creative Scrapbook

Hello blogging friends!

I am sharing my first layout with the October Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook today. This gorgeous kit is full of the Crate Paper Fresh Bouquet and Heritage collections. Also included in the kit subscription is access to these awesome cut files from PearTree Cut Files. I gravitate toward big titles always for my first layout with a kit and used one of those cut files to create this...

I am still not sure about my mixed media background. I love that it seems to extend the photo and show off those fall colors. But part of me thinks too messy.

I love how I photoshopped this photo. I added lots of fussy cut flowers on this layout. The Fresh Bouquet ephemera die cuts include transparencies like this quote I stitched onto my photo and how cute is this chipboard sticker bunny. Here is a closer look at the title work.

This truly is one gorgeous kit! Want to see my process as I created this layout ....

Castle Neuschwanstein - PageMaps

Hello blogging friends!

I am so excited to share the newest PageMaps sketches for June! I chose to do the two page layout again. I know ... but two page layouts are the best for vacation photos I really want to scrap! These photos were from our excursion to Castle Neuschwanstein in Bavaria Germany. Truly amazing!!! Imagine living in the foothills of this fairytaile castle. I used the gorgeous Crate Paper Heritage collection by Maggie Holmes.

and here is the sketch ...

Rather than walk up the mountain, my daughter and I took a horse and carriage most of the way up. We knew our feet would be killing us after the walking tour plus hike back down the mountain. It just added to the whole fairy tale experience. I love the chipboard embellishment pieces in this collection.

Since my Silhouette Cameo died, I've been fussy cutting flowers from pattern papers to layer instead. Yes, it takes more time. Get yourself a pair of really sharp cutter bee scissors if you want to attempt it. It is worth it! See the Tim Holtz transparent negative strip added under the photos. That's been in my stash forever.

I used some Thickers for my title. These have a little gold in them, perfect for the pattern papers.

Since I did not have the Heritage collection die cut ephemera pack, I went through my stash (Flourish, Bloom, and Carousel) looking for anything swan related. This is the swan castle (new swan castle) for a literal translation. Did you know swans appear in almost all of these Maggie Holmes collections?

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Please go check out the other PageMaps sketches. And stay tuned for more inspiration coming soon!

Myrtle Beach - JustNick Studios

Hello blogging friends!

I was inspired by some of Nicole's newest cut files in the JustNick Studios online store to scrap some summer beach photos. While vacationing in Myrtle Beach, I loved getting up before the sun and walking along the beach looking for shells and watching the sunrise. I used the Crate Paper Sunny Days collection by Maggie Holmes.

I love the new Beach Sand Surf title cut files. I backed the Beach one to have some beach sand on the bottom half by adding some torn kraft cardstock.

I added some PinkFresh Studios alpha stickers for the Myrtle part of my title. It was fun to embellish my title with stickers.

The Sunshade Background is a great way to add warmth to your summer layouts with those big sun rays. I did some machine stitching on the rays to add some texture.

Here are the digital cut files I used today ...

Nurture - JustNick Studios

Hello blogging friends!

I had an amazing 2018 ... and I cannot believe I am sharing my first layout of 2019 already! This week we are focusing on layouts about ourselves, or about our 2019 goals. Well lucky for you, my niece took some family photos for us just before Christmas because my selfie skills are severely lacking. I had to crop my hubby out of this photo so it was just me,lol.

I don't do One Little Word, but I like to see the words other people pick and why. It gets me thinking about what I should try to improve upon in the upcoming year. I chose NURTURE. When you nurture something, it thrives. I spend a lot of time taking care of the people around me that sometimes I don't take care of me. My exercise gets overlooked if I need to find some extra minutes in my day. I am sure many of you can commiserate. But I also want to nurture my relationships. It's important to spend quality time not only with my husband, but my aging parents as well (especially my Dad who suffers from dementia).
So here is my NURTURE layout that I created with the Maggie Holmes Flourish collection and awesome digital cut files from JustNick Studios.

I love to create texture and interest on my backgrounds using a white pattern on a white background. It's subtle, not too overpowering. I used the Tin Tile Background  on here. It's a beautiful backdrop for my title created with the Outline Alphas.

This Stem digital cut file is one I use over and over again. I love how delicate it is and it's perfect for layering in your embellishment clusters like I did here.

Here are the digital cut files I used today...

Do you have a word for 2019 that you've chosen? I would love to hear what it is. Thanks so much for stopping by today.

City Market - JustNick Studios

Hello blogging friends!

Do you like to try new trends? Mandalas and doily patterns are really hip right now. I wanted to show you how you can use these on a layout with dramatic results.

I used the Dainty Doily digital cut file to make an eye-catching background for my title. In addition, the doily pattern duplicates the shapes and textures of the sweetgrass baskets in the foreground photo.

Here is the digital cut file I used today ...
