Walking Through The Daisies

 Hello friends!

I was so excited to see that the March Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook was full of the Pinkfresh Studios Spring Vibes collection. It was just what I needed right now when winter here in Minnesota doesn't seem to want to end. Here is the first layout I created with my kit.

You can watch my process video here as well as see close-ups of the layout...

This layout was lots of fun to create with it's mixed media background and layers upon layers of pattern papers. I am linking it up to the March Pinkfresh Studios monthly challenge which is to use layers and the color palette in the below photo.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Check out all of the kits at My Creative Scrapbook this month. They are amazing!

April Main Kit - My Creative Scrapbook

 Hello friends!

I am so excited to share my layouts created with the gorgeous April Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook. This beautiful kit features the Pinkfresh Studio Happy Heart collection and just may be my favorite yet!

The first layout I created, I wanted to use this watercolor sorbet background paper. I added hand stitching then selected titles that would coordinate with the rainbow colors on the background. Add a cute photo of my niece and her now hubby and some fussy cut flowers, this layout is a favorite of mine.

I have a YouTube process video for this one ...

For my second layout, I used one of the April PageMaps sketches.

Each kit includes access to cut files, this inner circle of flowers designed by PearTree cut files is one of those. The kit also included these pretty chipboard butterflies. I added some sparkle to them with embossing powder. Click the YouTube video link to see how.

Here is the process video...

My last layout used the My Creative Scrapbook monthly sketch designed by Laura Whitaker.

I selected some photos from my nephew's recent wedding, used a mixed media background from Vicki Boutin, and lots more fussy cut flowers.

Adventure - PageMaps

 Hello blogging friends!

February is getting away from me ... I haven't posted my PageMaps sketch and layout yet. I chose a simple sketch and stuck to it very closely, just adding lots of fussy cut flowers to help embellish it. I used the beautiful Vicki Boutin Storyteller collection and mixed in a few Wild Honey embellishments from a past Vicki Boutin collection.

Here is the sketch I used.

While Storyteller isn't a travel collection, this background pattern paper reminded me of Paris. Since I miss traveling and can't wait to go on a new adventure I decided to dig out some photos I hadn't scrapped yet from my Europe 2018 trip with my daughter.

I love a gorgeous floral pattern paper that I can fussy cut! I even fussy cut the bird out from another Storyteller pattern paper.

Please check out my YouTube process video to learn more about it.

Taco Tuesday - My Creative Scrapbook

Hello blogging friends!

I am so excited to share my first layout with the August Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook. This gorgeous kit featured the Pink Paislee 5th And Monaco collection. I was feeling a tropical vibe and thought I could do a Taco Tuesday layout with a big title. My son rarely takes selfies, so I am glad his girlfriend does.

I love the bright colors in this collection against that dark background! I embellished with some fussy cut flowers, die cut ephemera, and enamel dots.
I love that big title. I created this one myself in Silhouette Studio and am kicking myself now because it doesn't appear that I saved it. Embellishments were kept to a minimum so all those pattern papers in the title get all the attention.
Please check out my YouTube video to see how this all came together ...

Castle Neuschwanstein - PageMaps

Hello blogging friends!

I am so excited to share the newest PageMaps sketches for June! I chose to do the two page layout again. I know ... but two page layouts are the best for vacation photos I really want to scrap! These photos were from our excursion to Castle Neuschwanstein in Bavaria Germany. Truly amazing!!! Imagine living in the foothills of this fairytaile castle. I used the gorgeous Crate Paper Heritage collection by Maggie Holmes.

and here is the sketch ...

Rather than walk up the mountain, my daughter and I took a horse and carriage most of the way up. We knew our feet would be killing us after the walking tour plus hike back down the mountain. It just added to the whole fairy tale experience. I love the chipboard embellishment pieces in this collection.

Since my Silhouette Cameo died, I've been fussy cutting flowers from pattern papers to layer instead. Yes, it takes more time. Get yourself a pair of really sharp cutter bee scissors if you want to attempt it. It is worth it! See the Tim Holtz transparent negative strip added under the photos. That's been in my stash forever.

I used some Thickers for my title. These have a little gold in them, perfect for the pattern papers.

Since I did not have the Heritage collection die cut ephemera pack, I went through my stash (Flourish, Bloom, and Carousel) looking for anything swan related. This is the swan castle (new swan castle) for a literal translation. Did you know swans appear in almost all of these Maggie Holmes collections?

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Please go check out the other PageMaps sketches. And stay tuned for more inspiration coming soon!
