February Layout Share - My Creative Scrapbook

 Hello friends.

The My Creative Scrapbook February Main Kit featured the Simple Stories Winter Wonder collection as well as some Echo Park Paper papers from Winterland and Chipboard frames from Echo Park Paper Winter collection.  Even though these were Winter collections, there were some floral, plaid, and gingham pattern papers so the kit was versatile enough for more than just your cold weather photos. Let me show you what I made.

1. Snow Much Fun - The Snow Much Fun cut file is included in your kit subscription and is from PearTree Cut Files. I cut the title large, inked and stitched it and placed it on a stenciled background. You can hear all about my process on my YouTube process video here...

2.  Oh So Cold - I used the monthly sketch by Rebecca Moore as the starting point for the design of this layout. I moved up the two side banners otherwise they would have been mostly covered up with my embellishments.

3. She Said Yes! - I took advantage of the plaid and floral pattern papers to do a non winter layout of my son's engagement. We are delighted for them. This layout is based on the monthly sketch by Laura Whitaker. I substituted a heart cut file from a past kit in place of the circle on the sketch. The heart worked better for my photos.

4. This Smile - I adore this photo of my niece. Her mom would not dress her in any pink, so I thought the green florals and gingham would be perfect for scrapping this photo. The adorable bunny and more floras from the ephemera die pack worked well on this layout.

My Creative Scrapbook puts together 4 kits every month. I used the Main kit. Each kit is put together beautifully. There is really something for every kind of scrapbooker! Go check them all out.

Layout Share August My Creative Scrapbook Main Kit

Hello everyone. The August Main Kit from My Creative Scrapbook is gorgeous and full of  product to create with. It features the Simple Stories The Little Things collection as well as a 49th & Market background paper, a Vicki Boutin stamp set, and an Echo Park Paper die cut ephemera pack. I created 4 layouts and still have lots of paper and embellishments left over. Let me show you what I created.

1.  Little Moments - I created this layout using a sketch from Allison Davis at Scrapbook Generations. It documents my niece enjoying some cotton candy for the first time. Totally Adorable! Watch my process video here to learn more about it.

2. Let Love Bloom - How precious is this layout? It uses the 49th & Market background paper, the stamp set, and some of the Echo Park die cut ephemera in addition to all those Simple Stories The Little Things embellishments. For more details, watch my YouTube video.

3. Love Story - This layout uses one of the PearTree Cut files that is included with a kit subscription and features some engagement photos of my nephew and his now wife that I took. I used the My Creative Scrapbook sketch of the month created by design team member Rebecca Moore.

4.  July 4th - My daughter was visiting from Denver so we had to do a 4th of July BBQ for the family. Of course my adorable grandson all decked out for the holiday in red, white and blue was the center of attention. I used a stitching star cut file from Paige Evan that was free for her newsletter subscribers.

My Creative Scrapbook July Layout Share

 Hello friends,

Once again My Creative Scrapbook has put together amazing kits for July. Let me show you what I created with the Main kit featuring the Maggie Holmes Woodland Grove collection from American Crafts.

1. Love Grows Here - This layout was created using the July sketch by Laura Whitaker for My Creative Scrapbook. It features my son's girlfriend from her maternity photo shoot. I used the 49th and Market stamp that was included with the kit and created my own mixed media background. Watch my YouTube process video to see how it all came together here.

2.  Summer Fun - I had just returned from a visit to my daughter in Colorado and could not wait to scrap these photos from our trip to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. If you are an animal lover, this zoo is a must! We absolutely loved feeding the giraffes there. I added some canvas flair from Scrappin' Happy Studio on this layout. The cut file is from The Cut Shoppe and was included with a kit subscription.

3.  Seek Sunshine - With all the pink and floral papers, I decided my next layout should be girly and decided to scrap a photo of my oldest daughter. The ribbon on this layout is from my stash. The die cut floral pieces included some acetate butterflies and flowers. A bit challenging to use is you prefer white backgrounds but I love how it looks on top of this photo.

4.  My Kind of Paradise - This layout was inspired by this pretty cut file from PearTree Cut Files that was included for kit subscribers. I pulled together the natural tones from the papers and a favorite photo of Split Rock Lighthouse along the north shore of Lake Superior. The mixed media background is from one of Vicki Boutin's Mixed Media Paper Pads.

April Layouts with the My Creative Scrapbook Main Kit

 Hello everyone!

I am so excited to share my layouts this month that I created with the gorgeous April Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook featuring the new Paige Evans Blooming Wild collection from American Crafts. This month's kit included Creative Expressions chipboard titles and exclusive cut files from Peartree Cut Files.

1. Getaway

My daughter Colette has been wanting to visit wine country in California for a while and finally got a chance. If you look closely at the photo, you can see the rows of grapes behind her. When I saw the pattern paper with rows in squares I knew it was a match made in heaven. Add some fussy cut flowers and wow, did it turn out pretty! Watch my process video for more details.

2. Shine Bright

This grandma loves any time she can get with her grandson! I used the monthly sketch on this one and even tried some daisy chain hand stitching. But the best part of this layout is that mixed media rainbow. See how I created it here ...

3. You Sparkle

For my third layout I scrapped a photo of my niece enjoying the holiday lights last December. I wanted to use the You Sparkle Creative Expressions chipboard title.

 4. Time To Bloom

My niece and her baby girl were recently baptized together. I love this soft photo of the two of them. Distress inks were used to add color to a Peartree cut file included with the kit subscription. I kept my layout soft with pops of color to draw the eye.

Happy Spring

 Hello friends!

I have another layout to share that I created with my March Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook featuring the gorgeous Pinkfresh Studios Spring Vibes collection. I’m using a cut file from PearTree Cut Files that is included with a kit subscription. I created a library pocket with a new die from Sizzix. It was perfect for holding my journaling and a cute tag. I layered it on top of a heart die from My Favorite Things. This is a photo of my daughter living in Denver. She couldn’t make it home for Easter last year and sent me this selfie with her dog. So cute with the Snapchat filter.

I am linking it up to the March Pinkfresh Studios monthly challenge which is to use layers and the color palette in the below photo.

Thanks so much for stopping by. Check out all of the kits at My Creative Scrapbook this month. They are amazing!

November My Creative Scrapbook Main Kit Layouts

 Hello friends!

I have some fabulous layouts and YouTube process videos to share with you today using the November Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook featuring the Vicki Boutin Evergreen & Holly collection from American Crafts. I LOVED this kit so much, I created process videos for all 4 of my layouts! I have so much product leftover too that I am going to make a bunch of Christmas cards and maybe even a few more layouts!

1. Fresh Cut Christmas Trees - When I started looking at the 2 packages of die cut ephemera that were included in the kit, I split the ephemera up by theme to see which of my photos from last Christmas I wanted to scrapbook. I was happy to see lots of Christmas Tree Farm ephemera. Last Christmas we cut down a tree right after a snowfall and it was truly a Winter Wonderland

2. - Holiday Cheer - fussy cut poinsettias are the star of this layout. There is a green poinsettia swag cut file from PearTree Cut Files at the base of my wreath. This cut file is included with a kit subscription .

3. Oh What Fun - The perfect title for a sledding layout. Add snow, a snowman and you can't help but have fun!

4. Christmas at Home - What are your holiday traditions? This layout documents our Christmas celebration fondue style with lobster tails. Cut file is included with a kit subscription and is from PearTree Cut Files.

October My Creative Scrapbook Main Kit Layouts

 Hello everyone!

I am sharing my October layouts created with the beautiful My Creative Scrapbook Main kit featuring the Paige Evans Garden Shoppe collection from American Crafts.

1.  Groovy Man - When I saw this daisy pattern paper I had to scrap this photo of my son and his girlfriend from last Halloween. They were dressed as hippies and I wanted to create a fun mixed media layout with that 70's vibe. Check out my YouTube process video for all the details.

2.  Happiness Here - I think my favorite pattern paper from the Garden Shoppe collection was this colorful leaf pattern paper. I fussy cut the top and bottom to create the illusion of leaves falling from trees and covering the ground. I used a cut from from Paige Evans called Leaf Heart to add some texture with a white on white and frame my photo.

3. Wonderfall - Go Vikings -  I am scrapping another photo of my son here. This time taking in a Vikings game. I used a cut file from PearTree Cut Files that is included with a kit subscription and even managed to do some hand stitching on it.

4. Upgraded To Grandparents - This layout features our first photos with our grandson Jameson. I used an October PageMaps sketch

September Layouts for My Creative Scrapbook

 Hello everyone!

So sorry I'm late in sharing my September layouts created with the Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook. This pretty kit featured the Jen Hadfield Live and Let Grow collection from American Crafts. My Creative Scrapbook puts together 4 kits each month so there is something for every type of scrapbooker you are.

1. Love Always was the first layout I created. I wanted to scrap more of the photos from my son and his girlfriend's maternity photo shoot. The "Piece of My Heart" cut file which is included in your kit subscription was perfect to frame my photo and is from The Cut Shoppe. I used my Lindy's Magicals to create my background. Check out my YouTube process video to see how it came together.

2. Gone Fishing was the second layout I created. I was so excited to see the fish pattern paper that is part of the Live and Let Grow collection. After all, I live in Minnesota, the land of 10,000 lakes and then some! We love to go fishing! This is a photo of my sone from years ago. I am using a cut file I purchased from PearTree Cut Files. Check out my YouTube process video to see how I created it. I am also using some epoxy fishing flair from Scrappin Happy Studio .

3. Catch of the Day is another fishing layout with a more recent photo of my son and husband with their humungo northerns. This is another cut file from PearTree Cut Files that I purchased. Here again I used some epoxy fishing flair from Scrappin Happy Studio .

4. I Love You This Much was my final layout, I am scrapping photos of myself and a grand furbaby that belongs to my daughter. I’m documenting the first time I met my daughter’s new rescue dog Teddy. I was preparing to sleep on her couch when Teddy decided I needed company. The look on his face when my daughter told him he couldn’t sleep on top of me was priceless. Poor Teddy. The cut file is from The Cut Shoppe and is included with your kit subscription. I added some @lovemytapes washi tape to my die-cut title and ran it through my Silhouette Cameo a second time.

So here is one of the reasons I am late posting my layouts ... new gransdson Jameson arrived at the end of August.

And the other reason ... We foster failed with our latest rescue dog Allie. She is not quite a year old and so sweet and gentle.

August My Creative Scrapbook Kit - Maggie Holmes Round Trip

 Hello everyone!

I wanted to post my layouts and YouTube videos with the My Creative Scrapbook August Main kit before my life gets crazy with the arrival of my first grandson. This amazing kit featured the beautiful Maggie Holmes Round Trip collection. Each kit comes with cut files you can download.

1. Every Day Is an Adventure With You

When I saw this rainbow paper I had to create a layout with it as my background and give a try at paper rolling the ends of the rainbow up. I used one of the PearTree cut files included with the kit subscription. Added a cute selfie with my adorable dog Princeton and a few embellishments.

You can catch my YouTube video here ...

2. Weekend Away - This map paper was another favorite. I used a PearTree Cut file (Weekend Away) for my title that was included with the kit subscription. Our Fourth of July trip to Grand Marais was amazing and I had some great photos of the bay and Lake Superior (and of course, The World's Best Donuts). A donut shop with a line ... all day long! They were delicious!!

3. Biergarten - My third layout used the sketch from Laura Whitaker for My Creative Scrapbook. I flipped the sketch on it's side to better suite my photos.

This fun layout uses strips of paper for the background. Since there are a few pretzel embellishments, I felt I needed to scrap a German layout, lol. Catch my YouTube process video here ...

4. Paris Sights and Food - I had a few odd photos left from our Paris trip and decided to combine them on this layout. The kit included this awesome BoBunny stamp set with the fun Let's Go On An Adventure repeated in a circle. I decided to create my clusters around them.

My Creative Scrapbook has Four different kits they put together each month. Again, I used the Main kit. Please go check out the other kits. They really have something for everyone.

I'll be sharing my September layouts soon (and pics of the new grandbaby). Stay tuned!

July My Creative Scrapbook Kit Layout Share

 Hello everyone!

I wanted to share my scrapbook layouts and YouTube videos that I created using the July Main kit from My Creative Scrapbook. This beautiful kit featured the Simple Stories Full Bloom collection and cut files from PearTree Cut files.

1. Everyday Adventures features one of the cut files from PearTree Cut files that is included in the kit. I used the July sketch by Laura Whitaker for this one. This layout contains a pic of my daughter in Colorado with her dog Sue.

Watch my YouTube video to see my take on the sketch.

2. Hello Sunshine -  My goal with this layout was to use lots of stickers from the sticker sheet to create a circle, including the title. That little cutie is my latest niece.

Watch my YouTube video to see how I created this layout.

3. Happy Day - The bees in this collection inspired the stenciled background on this layout. Another layout of my daughter on vacation in Mexico.

Watch my YouTube video to see how I created this layout.

4. Bloom Where You Are Planted features another PearTree Cut file that is included with a kit subscription. The baby in this photo is my oldest daughter Naomi, now 33! The title work is a little different from my normal. I mounted the letters on top of the cut file base which was cut from white paper and then inked using distress inks.

I'll be sharing my August layouts soon. Stay tuned!

My Creative Scrapbook June Main Kit Layouts

 Hello everyone!

I was going to share my July layouts with you and realized I had yet to share my June layouts! This summer is passing by in a blur its going so fast. The June kit from My Creative Scrapbook was full of the new Vicki Boutin Sweet Rush collection and of course more amazing cut files from PearTree Cut Files. Such a fun kit to work with!

1. You Are My Sunshine was the first layout I created having been inspired by the die cut ephemera Sun. Of course that had me singing or humming the lyrics to the song for the rest of the day. That gave me the idea to place the lyrics to the song within the rainbow cut file. I even cropped my photo in a heart shape to match the cut file and dangled it from the cloud. Mixed media is practically a must when using Vicki Boutin collections so I added some glaze using a stencil from a previous kit all down the left side of my layout.

Please watch my YouTube process video for all the details including detailed photos of the finished layout.

2. Sunkissed was my second layout with the kit. This layout is based on the sketch by Laura Whitaker for My Creative Scrapbook.

Here is my take using another cut file from PearTree Cut files that was included with the kit ...

The sun rays were created by using a cut file as a stencil and blending various yellow and orange distress inks. See how I did it in my process video as well as detailed close-ups.

3. Loving This was my third layout, because of course I had to use the paper stencil left over from my second layout.

Lots of fussy cut flowers were perfect for embellishing this photo from a trip to Hawaii a few years back. I have another YouTube process video for your viewing enjoyment and all the details.

4. My fourth layout featured amazing photos from the baby shower I threw for my son and his girlfriend and another PearTree Cut file, Love This Crazy Life.

More details in my YouTube process video and of course close-up photos...

My Creative Scrapbook May Main Kit

 Hello everyone!

I am playing catch-up again. May went by like a whir! But I wanted to share my May scrapbook layouts for My Creative Scrapbook before posting my June layouts. The May Main kit featured the Paige Evans Splendid collection and it did not disappoint. Let me show you what I created with it.

Having So Much Fun was my first layout. This is a lift of a layout I did for My Creative Scrapbook with Paige's Wonders collection. Both collections had a pattern paper that was just tags and this was an awesome way to use those tags.

You can catch the YouTube Process Video here ...

Sweet was my second layout with the collection. One of the pattern papers was a rainbow of all the colors that we come to expect from Paige's collections. I cut the paper into strips adding some strips from other pattern papers and then I used a variety of border punches for texture. Here was the result. The cut file is from PearTree Cut Files and was included with the kit subscription.

Grateful Heart was my third layout. The Grateful tag was my inspiration for this one. I had a photo of my daughter from last Thanksgiving that I've been wanting to scrap. I used a mixed media background from Vicki Boutin to make it more fallish. The cut file is from PearTree Cut Files and was included with the kit subscription.

Love Grows Here was my final layout. I knew this cut file would be perfect for a baby bump photo of my first grandbaby. The chipboard frame included in the kit was perfect for those ultrasound pics. I hope to get a YouTube process video up for this layout yet.
