Fox Belly Box - Lori Whitlock

Happy Cake Day Party Favors - Pebbles

Today is my first post using the fun Pebbles Happy Cake Day collection. I love making party favors. They can really help to create a festive vibe at your party. Instead of making just a couple cake boxes, I made an entire cake! Best of all, they can be displayed on a cake plate just like a real cake.

I made a combination of chocolate and strawberry cake boxes using several different pattern papers for my frosting. Some pretty rosette ribbon looks just like piped frosting along the edge of my cake.

You can decorate the boxes with stickers or die cut ephemera pieces like I did here.

The tops of the cake boxes come off to reveal a nice sized space for treats.

Each cake box also has it's own candle. A little bit of yellow stickles gives them a warm glow.

Halloween Party with Pebbles!

I love throwing Halloween parties. It’s fun to decorate the house and invite people over whether its a pumpkin carving party or a Halloween costume party. Of course, part of the fun is creating some party favors to help set the mood. Here is what I came up with using the This is Family collection that Jen Hadfield designed …

Even though this collection is not Halloween based, the colors of the pattern papers have a Fall air about them and I had no problems making them work. The kids will get a kick out of these pumpkin treat bags. I used a svg cut file from SVGcuts called Barn Party. These treat bags could be filled with candy or even popcorn. A clear acetate sheet let’s you see just what treats are inside.

I also spray painted the outside of some pint sized mason jars to look like candy corn. A trick here to prevent overspray is to wrap some scrap paper around the jar and affix with a rubber binder. I spray painted my jars with the opening face down to prevent getting any paint inside the jar.

Once the paint was dry I cut faces from black vinyl to adhere to them.

Box cards make great table decor on your buffet table. This Jack-In-The-Box black cat isn’t too scary. I have a couple of black cats that I took in as strays so it was hard to resist making this one. This svg cut file is also from SVGcuts and is called Halloween Box Cards. It does fold flat in case you wanted to mail it.

Whale Party Favor - Xyron and DCWV

Xyron teamed up with DVWV and I got a chance to play with their DIY Project Stacks Favor Boxes.

There are lots of different patterns for favor boxes and bows too as well as paper. Here is what I created ...

Isn't this whale adorable!!!  It would be so cute as a party favor at a kids birthday party. Want to know how I made it?

Step 1.  Trace whale pattern onto pattern paper and cut out. You could also use the box (without the tail) and place a rabbit, or butterfly, or heart on top in place of the spout. Note... Cut 2 of the spouts, flipping the pattern upside down for the second one so it is a mirror image of the first.

 Step 2.  I like to ink the edges of my paper for a more finished look.

Step 3. On the back side of the box, score a square in the middle.

Step 4.  Using my Xyron Mega Runner, I adhered the whale tail to the bottom of the box.

Step 5.  I used my Xyron Teresa Collins Stapler to attach the spout to the box. In hindsight, I wish I would have traced the spout on the box before cutting it out so I could eliminate this step.

Step 6.  Place some Xyron Double-sided High Tack Tape on each side of the notch to keep the box together.

Step 7.  Assemble the box by adhering the notched sides on top of eachother, over the Xyron Double-sided High Tack Tape.

Step 8.  Pull the spouts through the notch, No need to glue them. For kid appeal I added googly eyes.

Carousel Party with Cocoa Vanilla Studios

Friday, I didn't think you would get here fast enough! This working girl is looking forward to a weekend, hopefully a weekend where I won't be called into work.

I stayed up a late night, or two, or three to create this carousel cupcake holder with my beautiful Cocoa Vanilla Studios Sugar & Spice collection papers, an SVGcuts digital cutting file, my Xyron 9" Creative Station, and my Silhouette Cameo.

The horses are mounted on straws with washi tape. I have cake pops somewhere in my craft room and couldn't find them. Time to clean my craft room again, lol.

There are even cupcake wrappers to coordinate from the Sugar & Spice collection.

This baby even has mirrors! (ok it's reflective foil paper)

I love how this turned out....I am saving it for a baby shower since I don't have little girls anymore. Don't worry, those cupcakes have already been eaten. They are from the famous Nadia Cakes, winner of the Food Network Cupcake Wars!

Maybe I will have to get hubby out this weekend to see if we can find a carousel ride that's open already. Have a great weekend everyone!
