Changing Of The Guard - PageMaps

Hello blogging friends!

I can't believe it is August already! That means it time for awesome new sketches from PageMaps. I wanted to scrap more vacation photos. If I can't take a vacation, at least I can try to finish documenting the last one I took, lol. Once again I selected the double layout to knock out more photos. Here is the sketch...

I thought this design would be perfect for my Changing of the Guard photos from my London trip with my daughter almost two years ago. Here is my take...

I found the Buckingham Palace paper at Scrapbook.com and bought it a while ago. By moving everything up just a little I didn't cover any of it up. For big eye impact, I thought it would be cool to use the Union Jack flag for my background. Not too hard to do in Silhouette Studio since it is just lines.
I found an older Teresa Collins travel collection in my stash with more blues and reds. I love when I can use my stash! Other embellishments are a mix. I did purchase some Scrappin Happy Studio Epoxy Flair just recently when she released a London set. I used three on this layout. There are some Paper House and Jolee's Boutique London layered stickers as well that I snagged at a craft garage sale.

I could not believe the crowds that turn out to watch the changing of the guard! We arrived almost two hours early so we could take photos and get a good spot to watch everything from. The steps of the Queen Victoria Memorial were perfect, because it allowed us to sit and wait and it is directly across from the gates of Buckingham Palace.

I layered a couple tags and used stickers for my title. Again, I wanted to use Red and Blue. Bobbies were everywhere as well for crowd control. You see them in many of my photos as well.

It seems the British do everything with Pomp and Circumstance .... and a marching band too!

There was an embellishment spot here I filled with a Big Ben sticker, flair, and phrase stickers from Simple Stories.

I did do some machine stitching as well. I like the texture it adds. If you are worried about stickers coming off, just machine stitch right on top of them.

This was a fun layout to do.... and I am so happy I got more pages done for my London vacation album!!

Go check out the other new PageMaps sketches. They are sure to inspire you too!!

Have a great week!
