Happy Monday everyone! We are in a deep freeze here in Minnesota. I hope you are all staying warm. Over at Practical Scrappers the On Trend team is showcasing different ways to use arrows. I decided to use lots of them for big impact on this layout of my son Trenton skydiving shortly after he turned 18.
I used the BasicGrey What's Up collection again. Its perfect for this picture. The starburst on the pattern paper and the arrows draw your eyes right to the photo. I softened the look with gesso behind the photo and on the edges of the paper and photo. To soften it even more, I placed a layer of vellum and a layer of cheesecloth under the photo too. It makes me think, floating on a cloud, instead of plummeting to the ground at over 100 miles an hour!
Here are some close ups ...
The journal card tucked under my photo reads "Because at 18, parental
permission is not required!". All of my kids had to do something to
celebrate turning 18 that would have required parental permission had
they been minors; tattoos, body piercings, a trip to the casino. Colette even bought cigarettes, even though she doesn't smoke. Trenton
decided on skydiving! So all of you with little kids, count your blessings that they are not 18 yet, lol.
Anyone else have older kids that had to celebrate turning 18 in a unique way?
Colette is about to turn 21 in a little over a week. I get to worry about her friends taking her out drinking. She has good friends though, so I will not worry too much. Enjoy your day!
