I have no shame in sending Happy New Years cards in January to those few people that I just can't quite get Christmas cards out to on time. Let's face it, it's better than just ignoring your friends and family! Lori Whitlock came out with these classy looking new designs for New Years too ... who wouldn't be happy to get one of these babies? There is another design with big balloons in front as well. You can find these 5x7 Grid Pop-Up New Year's Cards here (SVG, Silhouette)

These new designs are grid based and super easy to put together.

Go check out all of Lori's new designs. Right now Lori's designs are 30% off!!!!!  Use code Jan2023 to get 30% off all SVGs, Fonts and Commercial Licenses!

Happy New Year! - Imaginisce

Hello blogging friends! I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas.

Wow, where did the year go? I cannot believe 2015 is coming to an end already ... as is my time designing for Imaginisce! But, after three years, it is time to say goodbye. I will always have a special place in my heart for my Imaginisce papers and tools. My very first publication was an Imaginisce layout in Scrapbook and Cards Today!

Do you all have your New Year's plans made? Hubby and I like to spend a quiet New Year's at home now. Oh, there will still be champagne ... just not all the noise from party goers. Some of my favorite New Year's Eve gatherings were with our neighbors who moved south this year to escape the cold Minnesota winter. Hopefully, sending them a Happy New Year card instead of a Christmas card will remind them of those happy times too. My box card base makes use of a SVGcuts digital file. But I modified the inside pieces to make it more suitable for New Year's.

Box cards fold flat for mailing, but I really love how they can be displayed for enjoyment by the receiver. You can see I used my i-Rock to add some gemstones to bling it up. I love how it turned out.

Supplies:
Imaginisce : Pattern Papers (Happy Traveler, Family Fun), i-Rock, Clear Gemstones
American Crafts: Cardstock
SVGcuts Summer Box Card digital file
Xyron adhesive
Pink Stamper stamp "CHEER"
Silhouette "Happy New Year" and "Champagne glasses" are available in their library

Happy New Year - Love My Tapes

Hello blogging friends.  Marcia here today with a confession. I did not get all my Christmas cards mailed. Life is just so busy before Christmas. But I wanted my friends and family to know I've been thinking about them, so I decided I needed to make some Happy New Year cards.

I cut the sentiment with my Silhouette Cameo and instead of using the positive, I filled the negative space underneath with washi tape. I thought this silver washi tape with tiny stars was perfect.

Here is another making use of the negative, but on this card I ran the washi taped cardstock through my Cameo. This same technique can be done with dies or other electronic cutting machine. Since I was working with a striped pattern, I also took care to match up the stripes.

and here is my card...

By using the positive and the negative cuts for my cards, I was able to make several cards quickly. So if you are like me and don't want to fall off your friends and family Christmas card lists, it's not too late. Send a New Year's card instead.

Happy New Year - Quick Quotes Inspiration

Hello, Marcia here today to share a New Year's card with you that I made for Quick Quotes. I wanted to make a bright, happy card, so I reached for my Summer Samba papers and a Birthday hat chipboard die cut from the Cupcake Bag O'Chips .
I stamped the New Year sentiment onto some vellum and then fussy cut it out. It was part of a longer sentiment and I only wanted something short. I painted the hat with gesso, and then used my Mango Mai Tai powderpuff chalk ink to add color. I think it works perfect for New Year's as well as Birthdays!

Quick Quotes Supplies:
Summer Samba 100, 200, 400
Cupcake Bag O'Chips
Powderpuff chalk ink in Mango Mai Tai, Maraschino Cherry

Other Supplies:
Martha Stewart star punch
Spellbinders Edgeabilities die cut
vellum
stickers - Doodlebug Designs
card base 5" x 6.5"
Hero Arts stamp

Have a fun and safe New Year's Eve. Wishing you all the best for the New Year!!!
