With Halloween behind us, I have some Christmas projects to get you in the mood. I worked with the Tradition collection. The colors in this collection are bright and cheery. Lots of traditional elements yet with a trendy style. Layouts are my favorite, so my first project I made was this...
With Authentique's thicker papers I can distress and use some mixed media and know the paper will hold up well. I added some bricks using molding paste to coordinate with the bricks in my photo. Some gesso keeps the background paper from being too distracting when I want you to see the bricks. Then I used some chalk ink to add a little bit of grey and tan coloring. I had to fussy cut out some of those fun stockings to hang...
I made a couple of poinsettias too with the pattern papers and added a touch of Inca Gold to give them a festive feel.
I love giving a gift where the recipient exclaims, WOW! You made this! When I saw this drum SVG file, I knew I had to make one for my son. He is a drummer in the North Dakota State University marching band. I filled it with some Christmas candy. It will make an awesome care package while he is studying for finals.
Here's a better look at the drum....
My last project is a Christmas card. I love that the stickers in this collection work great for sentiments on cards.
Thank you Authentique for letting me share my love of paper with your readers. If you are interested in any of the dies I used in my projects, (or in some Authentique papers), please stop by the ScrapTownLady store.
