This is my second post today, please scroll down to see how I added dimension with stenciling paste on my Quick Quotes layout. It's time for another sketch challenge over at Sketchabilities. Karan Gerber's sketches are awesome to create with. Here is the latest sketch...
My son Trenton just went to Prom with his girlfriend, so I used those pics.....
Because Prom is a formal occasion, I wanted to use an elegant papers, mostly black and white with a splash of color. These papers are from the Little Yellow Bicycle Swoon collection. It's not just for weddings! The larger flowers are Prima and the small rosebuds are Kaisercraft. The largest flower I dyed using my mists and an H2O pen. Isn't it gorgeous!!! I wanted the center to be a darker blue to mimic the peacock feather. The H2O pen gives me more control than misting alone. Here are some close-ups...
I included the Prom invite as my journaling spot. The peacock feather was originally a part of this invitation. I fussy cut it out as I wanted to include it in my flower swag. I used a new Stampendous jumbo cling rosehips stamp as the base of the flower swag and embossed in black. I love the elegance it added. I saved the gems from the corsage and boutonniere and added them in the clusters too. Here are a few more pics....
I hope you will play along with us at Sketchabilities! I can't wait to see your take on this sketch.
