St James Park - Jillibean Soup

I am sharing my first layout with the pretty Jillibean Soup You Make Miso Happy collection. The color palette, floral pattern papers, and flower pea pod parts were perfect for scrapping some photos from my recent trip to London's St James Park. This beautiful park is located between Buckingham Palace and Westminster Abby. After watching the changing of the guard at Buckingham Palace, we enjoyed walking through the park with its gorgeous flower gardens and waterfowl. I used a Jillibean Soup digital cut file available in the Silhouette store to frame my photo collage.

The You Make Miso Happy collection includes enamel shapes, like these flowers. I fussy cut some florals from the pattern papers to tuck behind my photos on both sides. then layered the pea pod die cuts on top.

Happy Fall Y'all - Simple Stories

Today I have some Fall layout inspiration using the beautiful new Forever Fall collection. Fall is my favorite time of year. There is nothing better than afternoon hikes to enjoy the colors, sipping pumpkin spice lattes, and trips to the apple orchard for my favorite honeycrisp apples. When my daughter did an internship in Colorado, she spent her free weekends hiking in the Rocky Mountain National Park. In this photo of her by a lake, you can see the pretty yellow leaves on the mountain behind her.

Various pattern papers back this fabulous leaf digital cut file from JustNick Studios. A colorful leaf is probably the first thing you think of for Fall and I wanted to include the many different colors in the Forever Fall collection.

I added embellishments to anchor my photo like this awesome Fall banner I created from stickers in the 4x6 sticker collection and beautiful bits and pieces die cuts.

I created a mixed media background using different blue mists. Forever Fall has some beautiful blue pattern papers and I wanted to play up this color.

To The Moon - Simple Stories

I am back today with a cute Simple Stories Oh, Baby layout for you. I am smitten with the soft pastel colors in this collection making it perfect for either boys or girls. Today I am scrapping this hospital photo of my cute little nephew.

The main focus of my layout is this To The Moon digital cut file from JustNick Studios cut from the yellow gingham pattern paper. I used the star openings to do some string art. I love the texture it adds. This chipboard sticker bear is just adorable, isn't he.

I trimmed my photo to be heart shaped to fit the cut file heart dangling from the moon and added a chipboard sticker bow where the heart is connected to the moon.

To add interest to the background, I used a cloud stencil and blue distress oxide ink to create some fluffy blue clouds. The stars leftover from the cut file were then scattered across my page along with some star stickers.

Along the right edge of my layout I added the tape measure paper. To soften things, I also added a punched eyelet lace edge. Over this I placed a cloud and this adorable bear riding in a hot air balloon.

Wild At Heart - JustNick Studios

One of my favorite destinations for a summer road trip is Grand Marais Minnesota on the shores of Lake Superior. The lake is so big it almost like seeing the ocean. It was a foggy rainy day when we were there, but that just added to it's mystic. When scrapping this favorite photo from the day, I wanted a way to convey the greatness of all that water ... Lake Superior is after all the largest of the Great Lakes. I think the JustNick Studio Wave Background digital cut file does it justice! I used the Wild At Heart collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studios.



I still wanted a skyline on my layout so that I could also convey what a cloudy day it was, so I erased the top portion of the background. That left room for me to include some clouds from the Sunny Days digital cut file.





I carefully added some machine stitching to emphasize the waves on the background. I love the effect. To add interest to these wood veneer words, I embossed the lower half with some fine white embossing powder. The two-tone effect is stunning. Washi Tape on the upper half keeps it from being embossed and it peels away so easily.
