Life Is Full Of Joy - Clique Kits and JustNick

Hello blogging friends! Have you seen the May Clique Kit yet? It is awesome! This month features the beautiful 365 collection from Chickaniddy. The May challenge is live, and this month Pinkfresh Studios is sponsoring. Here is the prize!

Pinkfreshstudioprize

The challenge is Anything Goes..... but this month you are welcome to use this optional sketch by  talented Clique member Amanda O'Banion.

CliqueKitsAnythingGoesChallenge

I rotated the sketch so I could use this journal card in place of a photo. Here is the layout I created for the May challenge. This is my Mom with my great nephew.

The background is the JustNick Crazy Daisy Background file. I used a Silhouette sketch pen to draw the design first, then went back and selectively cut the flower petals from different pattern papers.

I also used the JustNick Life cut file for my title.

I am in love with those Freckled Fawn Emoticon wood veneers. They are available in the Clique Store. Use coupon code Marcia10 and save 10%. There is also a clearance sale going on. You can pick up some real bargains!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week and I would love to see you participate in our May challenge.

Team Dave + Clique Kits Challenge

Hello blogging friends. I have another layout I created with the December Clique Kit to share with you today. I wanted to give you some insight into what inspired me for my latest layout. It was this 4×6 journal card from the Echo Park Creative Agenda collection. It reminded me of the musical Rent and that made me think of my brother-in-law Dave who is battling cancer. When you are in a battle for your life, you realize just how precious time is as well as those people we love to spend that time with.

Dave was just released from the hospital again after more surgery which was then complicated by his getting pneumonia. Hubby and I took some food over last night and were touched to see that my sister's co-workers had bought them a real tree! They are blessed with some truly awesome friends.
Anyway,,, Last Spring, my daughter and I participated in the Minneapolis Bladder Cancer Walk with Dave and lots of friends and family. So I dug out the few pictures I had from the event. Then I looked for a sketch that would work with my photos and journal cards. I found this one at Stuck?! Sketches.

My next step is deciding what papers and embellishments to use. But I wanted the emphasis still to be that journal card, so I used my Silhouette to cut the words out of my background paper. It makes a bold statement. Here is my finished layout…

One of the add-ons for the kit were these fabulous paper clips from Freckled Fawn and I cannot get enough of them.

I spritzed some Heidi Swapp color shine in tinsel on my camera ephemera and layered some chipboard stickers on top. Using foam adhesive adds dimension, making the layers pop.

I used my computer to add my journaling as I don’t especially like my own handwriting.

Danielle Young Designs created the digital pocket cards for our December kit. So I created this mini card with one of her backgrounds to inspire you all to join our challenge...

The fan is from the Heidi Swapp ephemera pack and I couldn't help being a little cheesy with the sentiment. Finals week  for my daughter in Vet school is this next week and this card will be perfect to tuck in her Survive Finals Week care package.
So create something mini and link up to Clique Kits here.

Never Let Anyone Dull Your Sparkle - Clique Kits

Hello blogging friends! I am very excited to be on the Clique Kits blog today sharing a layout I created with our fabulous December kit,  Enchanted Meadow!  I just love all the colors and patterns in the September Skies paper collection by Heidi Swapp. I also love the exclusive digital cut files that were included in the kit. Since my daughter just got married I thought this kit would be perfect to document some of those memories.

Photo Credit goes to Amanda Plucker Photography. This is loosely based on the newest Creative Scrappers sketch.... I loved the diagonal lines, but made it less cluttered.

I combined two of the cut files for my title, cutting one from some Love My Tapes blue glitter adhesive cardstock, (since my daughters ring was a sapphire) and the other from black cardstock. I added a little bit of pattern paper to fill the negative space to keep the background from being too distracting. These cut files may appear in the Clique Kits digital store. Keep your eye out if you are interested.

I spritzed some Rose Heidi Swapp Color Shine on my resist flower from the Ephemera pack. Then painted on some Peach Color Shine to give my flower some dimension.

One of the December add ons were these awesome paper clips from Freckled Fawn. I just had to have them. LOVE!

You're Awesome - Clique Kits Pep Rally

Hello blogging friends!  It's time for the Clique Kits Pep Rally! Yeah!!!! I love seeing what everyone has been creating with their kits. If you want to start at the beginning, head on over to the Clique Kits blog. Be sure to comment all along the hop to increase your chances to win.... a November Homecoming Kit. This is an amazing prize, the Lemon Owl Weekend Trip collection plus Webster's Pages Nest plus tons of embellishments.

Here is the mood board for the share ...

I was inspired by all the colors of the mood board. I think I included all of them on my layout.
Here is my layout ....

I used the latest sketch from Sketchabilities. I have always loved Karan's gorgeous sketches, and sketches are such a great starting point. The thing that I loved about this one was those circles framing the photos. They mimic the circles in that Life is Good journal card, so of course I had to include that too.

The paper is mostly LemonOwl Weekend Trip with some Webster's Pages Nest thrown in there to bring out the orange. I am so in love with the embellishments and add-ons that are hand selected for each month's kit. I LOVE these felt deer from Freckled Fawn, and how fun is this "Hi" paper clip!!

Some gesso painted on the wood word with my finger helps to soften it a little.

Thanks for stopping by! Head on over to Mariah's blog now ...

One Last Selfie .... Clique Kits

Hello blogging friends! I have been so, so busy in the last week with last minute wedding errands, hauling my hubby to Dr appts after he threw his back out, and trying to work my 9-5. Thankfully hubby was well enough to walk his daughter down the aisle. Well I could not wait to play with my November Clique Kit when all the chaos subsided.

You can see why, right? Look at the gorgeous papers from Lemon Owl and Websters Pages! Plus those awesome embellies. While I am patiently waiting for photos from the wedding photographer, I scrapped this selfie my daughter took of herself and then posted on Facebook and Instagram as I was driving her to the wedding.

I used the latest Creative Scrappers sketch... Perfect for a big title.

Here are some close-ups ...

I love the transparent butterflies in the kit. And did you know Clique Kits come with digital cut files every month? This month the talented Juliana Michaels created these gorgeous rose flowers and other cut files, They are available in her shop 17Turtles.

This cute felt deer from Freckled Fawn is available in the Clique Store. Use coupon code Marcia10 and save 10%.

Even this cool washi tape is in the Clique Store....

Thanks for stopping by,
