Mom : Floral Box Card Tutorial for Xyron and a GIVEAWAY!

Happy Mother's Day my blogging friends. I hope you all had a wonderful day with your families. I had a fabulous weekend with my kids and even managed to get some of my flowers planted!

I am so excited to be returning to the Xyron design team! Did you know that they have a new 9" Creative Station? Let me show it to you....  The new 9" Creative Station has a sleeker design and the crank handle folds flat against the machine. It takes up less space, so you can fit more scrappy supplies into your craft rooms ;)

This machine does double duty. Not only do 9" cartridges fit, but the smaller 5" ones too.

Such a smart idea. When you open up the machine there is a green divider that you lift up when you want to insert a 5" cartridge inside.

Slide the cartridge in place, ensuring the end of the adhesive strip is between the 2 black rollers and close the lid.

Well I was so exited I couldn't wait to play with it. I decided to make a box card for my Mom using the new Heartland Farm collection from ImaginisceA special Mom deserves a special Mother's Day card.

Here is how I did it...

Step 1. Using a die cut machine cut out the Floral Box Card from cardstock and pattern papers. Insert the smaller die cuts into the new Xyron 9" Creative Station with the 5" permanent adhesive cartridge in place.

Tip: This helps avoid losing the smaller pieces.

Step 2. Switch out the 5" cartridge for the 9" permanent adhesive cartridge and run the larger pieces through.

Step 3. The new Xyron 9" Creative Station still has this useful paper cutter in the back of the machine.

Step 4. Assemble the card, placing cut pattern paper pieces onto the cardstock base.

Step 5. Now let's die cut a sentiment for the card front. Run a strip of cardstock through the Xyron 1.5" Sticker Maker.

Step 6. Peel off the protective film from the top side of the cardstock.

Step 7. Set die cut on top and run through manual die cut machine.

Step 8. Peel off paper backing from select die cuts and apply to card front to spell "MOM". Tip: There is no adhesive residue when you apply the adhesive first and then die cut.

Step 9. Embellish card with enamel dots.

I love that these cards fold flat! Here are a few more pics....
