Turtle Dove - Crate paper ornament

Since I made my partridge ornament a few weeks ago, many of my friends have expressed their desire (ok, they demanded ) for me to make one for them too. When I saw Crate Paper's ornament challenge I decided it was time for me to make a Turtle Dove...
I used the Vintage Lace paper from the Crate Paper Portrait collection, a very elegant collection. To give it some sparkle I inked the edges with a silver platinum ink. I used the last of my feather boa trim for his wings and tail. I'm going to have to run to Jo-Anns to get some more now.  I just love how he turned out!!

Over the weekend, we got 14" of snow here in Minnesota!!! This was the view out my front window (and it was still coming down when I took this picture!). Beautiful isn't it.
I thought I would share some pictures I took of my dog Satchel. He is wearing a sweater I knit for him.
He just loved that I went outside to play with him in the snow :)
Hope you are all having a great week!

  1. Your ornament is so pretty Marcia. Is it a Silhoutte cut? Yikes 14' of snow . . . we've yet to get any so far, but there is a possibility of a storm early next week!

  2. The body is an ornament turned sideways, Cricut cut from Joys of the Season. The head was cut freehand.
