Artful Delight projects and a Debossing Tutorial for The Paper Variety

I can not tell you how much I love the February Scrapbook kit from Artful Delight! This is what I made this week with the Simple Stories Year-ography papers.
The journaling reads "Where have the years gone?" I can't believe my son Trenton is graduating this spring! I used the sticky backed canvas again this week and embossed it with a Tim Holtz Sizzix Clock & Steampunk Texture Fades Embossing Folder and then brushed over the raised surface with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.. Then I fussy cut some of the clocks out. I LOVE how it turned out. Here are some closeups.
I put some more journaling on the back side of this tag.
I usually don't like to use flowers on layouts of my guys, but these Petaloo Flora Doodles flowers have a more masculine look about them. You can see I cut some leaves out of the canvas with my Spellbinders die and then inked the top with Peeled Paint Distress Ink.
I also have a debossing tutorial today for The Paper Variety where I used some of the Little Yellow Bicycle Paradise collection from the February Artful Delight kit to make a card.
Debossing can give you nooks and crannies that are perfect for holding Stickles or Liquid Pearls. So I want you to look at your embossing folders and see more than the raised images.

Baby feet can become footprints in the sand...
Snowflakes can have some sparkle added to them...
I like to use color Core'dinations cardstock or white core cardstock when embossing or debossing. You will also need a sanding block and I like to keep some baby wipes handy to clean up the dust. Turn the embossing folder upside down and place the top side of the cardstock face up in the folder.
Run through your Sizzix (or other machine) and then sand the entire top with a sanding block.
I like to wipe the top of my debossed cardstock with a baby wipe to clean off the excess dust after sanding, and then clean up my work space. Now apply some Stickles or Liquid Pearls.
This adds a little bit of sparkle to a card.
